2022 has GOT to be the year I get on track and stop yo-yoing! Who's with me

Started 2021 at 15st 1lb! Lost weight, put some on, lost some, put some back on. Weighed myself today and I'm 15st 2 again!!!! Back to square one! In 5"2 and now back up to a size 16. I feel unhealthy and unattractive but really struggle with the impulse to binge eat, especially when I am stressed or tired. Before having children I lost 8 stone, weighed 10 stone and wore a size 10 so I know I can do it. Just need to stay motivated. I am going to restart with my fitness Pal and try and walk 10000 everyday. Really don't want to be writing the same thing this time next year!

Well done that's great!

I've gained a lb and am back over the next stone bracket. Rrrr

For those that were interested the Hello Fresh box was lovely, every meal we had was yum - but not diet friendly even from the diet section the calories were much higher than ideal. Also I would not be happy paying the full price. So we cancelled after a week and are trying to find a lower calorie box instead.

We've booked a holiday so I at least have a target date to have a chunk off by.

Dumpydump · 30/01/2022 08:59

@Forricks, thank you 😊 sorry you've gained a little, I know how frustrating that can be. Keep at it and I'm sure you will be back down in no time 🤗 xx

Oo its gone quiet!

How is everyone getting on?

Dumpydump · 02/02/2022 19:01

I'm doing okay, thanks. How about you? I've had a few little wobbles over the last couple weeks but have mostly kept on track. I'm struggling a little with fitting in/having the energy to exercise. I'm just so much more tired now I'm back at work full time! My official weigh in is tomorrow so see how I'll get on. Just need to keep going and not give up!

Thursday weigh in:

14st 2lbs

1lb off this week and officially 1 stone lighter 🙂 next target: get out of the 14s!

Forricks · 03/02/2022 07:25

That's incredible well done!

I'm the opposite and my temp contract came to an end leaving me unemployed and emotional and stress eating!

I'm planning on posting a lot more as it will go back to before if I don't get a grip. Have a scrub the house morning and a job hunt afternoon planned but also hoping to fit in a quick bike ride.

Not doing a mid week weigh this week - ignorance is bliss!

WitchDancer · 03/02/2022 08:21

Diet? What diet? It's been a very stressful few weeks and everything has gone out of the window. I'm going to start over again. I want to say today but I don't think that will happen 😔

Dumpydump · 03/02/2022 16:31

Sorry you're having a tough time with it @Forricks and @Witchdancer. All I can say is I fully empathise and understand. I find it so hard to keep motivated and the stresses of life do not help! The positive thing is that neither of you have just given up. You have recognised it and are getting yourself back on track. It's something to aspire to because when I go off the rails, I completely go off! I go into denial, ignore the scales and then get upset when I've put all the weight back on or can't fit in my clothes!! I very much doubt any of us will be perfect but having and awareness and an honesty around it is definitely the way forward. 🙂

Thank you Dumpy, that's really kind of you. Tomorrow is a new day...

Dumpydump · 10/02/2022 07:14

Thursday weigh in

14st 0.5lbs

1.5lbs off and so close to getting out of the 14s! Weight loss has definitely slowed down a bit now. I've been trying really hard to stay on track this week and was hoping be in the 13s today. Fingers crossed I'll get into the next stone bracket for next week 🤞. Anyway still happy with a loss so I'll stop complaining! 🤣 Hope everyone is doing well? 😊

WitchDancer · 10/02/2022 09:46

That's brilliant Dumpy, well done!

I've got a kidney infection so am feeling very grim right now. I've got to see my gastro consultant later today and I know I'm going to get my wrist slapped for not loosing weight.

I'm wondering about going back to Slimming World as it's the only way I've been able to loose weight without getting majorly fed up with it.

Dumpydump · 10/02/2022 16:27

Oh no @WitchDancer sorry to hear you are poorly 😢 really hope you're feeling better soon x

OP posts:
Dumpydump · 10/02/2022 16:28

Also I've never done Slimming World but my sister in law has been really successful with it recently and has lost 3 stone x

OP posts:
WitchDancer · 10/02/2022 16:42

Thanks Dumpy. On the up side my consultant is happy with my bloods, so that's great news - my medication is doing what it's supposed to do.

I'll have a ponder about what to do regarding weight loss over the next couple of days. I seem to have 1,000 excuses why I can't do diets right now and it's got to stop!

MrsWobbit · 14/02/2022 14:50

Afternoon, I've name changed from Forrix and have been having a wobble but I'm back on track and full of renewed enthusiasm.

Hope everyone is getting on ok or at least better than I was! Grin

looklikeanelephant · 14/02/2022 21:40

This has struck a chord with me, am I to late to join? I lost and regained 3 stones about 3 times last year. And then I started trying to eat well after Xmas but then we got told our completion date on the house was going to be the end of January and so we just ate anything because we were stressed. I'm 15 stone 7 :(
I have a bit more motivation and I've been doing well the last few days, I just need to do some exercise, preferably one to strengthen my back because it's been really bad lately!

WitchDancer · 14/02/2022 22:07

Hi Wobbit, you can't have done worse than me over the past month Blush Good on you for owning up, onwards and lighter.

Welcome Elephant, more the merrier!

Today has been a good day. I managed 5 minutes on the treadmill, which wasn't as much as I hoped for but it's still better than nothing. I dug out my old slimming world books and have stuck to it too. Grin

MrsWobbit · 14/02/2022 22:41

Wow that's still impressive to lose that Elephant, that's proof that you can do it!

I've dug out the exercise bike over the weekend but not going to pressure myself or feel bad if I don't do it -as long as I'm under calories each day I'm not going to stress about extra atm

73kittycat73 · 15/02/2022 21:00

Hi, do you mind if I join? I've just read the whole thread. Smile I started out last year at 15st 1lb. I managed to get down to 11st 3lb, but have since put about 3 st back on! I started last week (Monday) at 14st 2.4lbs and weighed in this Monday at 13st 10.4lbs. So lost 6lbs last week.
I needed to stop all the chocolate/biscuits/cake as I'm also a type 2 Diabetic. Been diagnosed a few years now but never got any help or guidance from the GP before and sort of bumbled on as I had been before. I think I put all the weight on when I gave up smoking-10+ years ago! I saw a photo of me and my niece when she was a toddler and got a shock realising how long ago that was and how I had been overweight for so long! Shock
I'm managing by having nothing sweet in the house. My mum lives next door so I've left an emergency bags of M & M's in hers. Grin I don't want to go and wake her up (My danger time is at night. I get terrible insomnia and eating something sweet used to help me drop off.) so have managed so far.
I suppose it's also easier for me as I'm agoraphobic and hardly go out (I can get to the corner shop with my mum.) so I don't have all that temptation in front of me.

WitchDancer · 15/02/2022 22:28

Welcome KittyCat! I think you've got a good plan there in keeping sweets out of the house. Hopefully that 3 stone will come off soon.

I weighed in today - 17 stone 5lb. It's not the heaviest I've been but it still is shocking. I also did measurements and am interested how much in the way of inches I loose.

It's been a difficult day as normally DH brings home a prawn sandwich and a lemon or chocolate muffin from M & S, which is a real treat. He didn't today, which is exactly what I asked him. I'm pleased he's on board as he's not always done so in the past.

73kittycat73 · 16/02/2022 01:25

Hi WitchDancer, thanks for the welcome. Smile It's good your DH is onboard with you this time. It always helps when there's less temptation about! What measurements have you taken? I've just done bust, waist and hips. (Bought a weight loss journal and they also have right thigh, left arm etc. I didn't do those as I carry all my weight on my middle.)

WitchDancer · 16/02/2022 08:56

I did waist, bust, upper arms, and thighs. I've got a weight loss journal too..... Smile

WitchDancer · 16/02/2022 08:56

Oh, and hips

Dumpydump · 16/02/2022 16:42

Hi everyone and welcome to the newbies 👋😊 I have to be honest this week has been a disaster 😭 I've gone completely of the rails!! Binge eating, not tracking....just really bad and unhealthy habits. I secretly ate a whole bag of minstrels in the car yesterday!!! I don't even want to think what the scales will say tomorrow 😭 anyway I'm hoping that by writing this and being honest I can get myself back on track! Feel so frustrated with myself!!!

OP posts:
WitchDancer · 16/02/2022 17:07

Hi Dumpy, please don't beat yourself up. You've recognised your bad week, time to move on. I hope the scales are kind to you on weigh in. The question I would be asking myself is why did I secret eat? Are you depriving yourself of any treats at all? I don't want you to share, unless you feel happy to do so, but it may be worth you considering Thanks
