2022 has GOT to be the year I get on track and stop yo-yoing! Who's with me

Started 2021 at 15st 1lb! Lost weight, put some on, lost some, put some back on. Weighed myself today and I'm 15st 2 again!!!! Back to square one! In 5"2 and now back up to a size 16. I feel unhealthy and unattractive but really struggle with the impulse to binge eat, especially when I am stressed or tired. Before having children I lost 8 stone, weighed 10 stone and wore a size 10 so I know I can do it. Just need to stay motivated. I am going to restart with my fitness Pal and try and walk 10000 everyday. Really don't want to be writing the same thing this time next year!

Wow, @Dumpydump! That's a great start.
@WitchDancer I took a load of snacks to the foodbank the other day. We're lucky as there's a drop off point at the end of the road which makes it easy to do. Nonetheless, with two DC in the house, there is still a lot of rubbish I can eat!

I am having a horrible day. All I can think about is how much my bum (glutes) following the exercise classes I've done this week and how hungry I am. I broke my fast 45 mins early as I just couldn't last any longer but am just as I was before I ate! It's going to be a loooonnggg day!

WitchDancer · 06/01/2022 14:17

I volunteer at a food bank, yes they can take festive treats as long as they're in date. Most of the stuff we have is open so it can't go 😔

sasparilla1 · 06/01/2022 14:22

Hello, can I join you?

I've put on so much weight in the last 12-18 months and now find myself at my heaviest ever Sad - just over 15st.

I'm easing myself into a diet slowly - I get a lot of migraines (at least one a week) and big changes are a major trigger for me. As is being back in work, I stress eat!

Forricks · 06/01/2022 16:31

Evening, luckily dd only has a sore throat so is still her usual self. But she just doesn't understand about keeping away and you can see how hurt she is so I have broken and given her a few cuddles (whilst holding my breath!)

Stress has me reaching for choc though, I'm trying really hard not to let it be an excuse and stay accountable. Yesterday was ok. Today not so much!

I read about breaking the day into 4 quarters though and if I mess up I just reset at the next section rather than writing off the whole day like I usually would. Seems a good philosophy!

WitchDancer · 06/01/2022 16:37

She needs hugs Forriks, so please don't keep her at arms distance. You could both wear masks, which may help you not catch it, but don't deprive her of comfort 💕

Dumpydump · 06/01/2022 20:35

@WitchDancer

That's a brilliant start Dumpy, well done!

I'm not doing so well - I pulled my back on Tuesday evening, so am feeling miserable. That coupled with Christmas snacks still in the house is not good at all. I haven't gone completely out of control but I still ate things like mince pies, which are high in calories 😔

Today is a new day though, onward and downwards!

Thank you 😊 so sorry to hear about your back 😢 well done for staying in control despite all the Christmas deliciousness! Luckily my husband has devourered most of ours and removed the temptation!🤣

Of course 😊 let's say goodbye to 15st together! Never want to see that on the scales again!! Sounds like a sensible approach, good luck 🍀 x

Aww bless you both, must be so hard. Don't think I could resist a cuddle either! That sounds like a great way of thinking about things. Will definitely keep that in mind when I go into sabotage mode!!!

@Forricks if you don’t get Covid from your daughter, you will likely come into contact with it elsewhere as it’s so prevalent. I’d give hugs unless you’re clinically vulnerable.. but I know everyone has to make their own decisions.
I’m on track.. more or less today. Had more carbs than I usually would and had a delicious chocolate from my Hotel
Chocolat box. But am trying to see one chocolate as a satisfying treat and stopping at one

Forricks · 06/01/2022 22:07

Yeah definitely have been having cuddles! Poor love can't understand and I'm not having her feel rejected for no reason in the world.

Fish finger sandwich for dinner so not the best behaved on the diet front either!

Anotherhill · 06/01/2022 22:16

Can I join too? Have at least 2 stone to lose. I usually like exercise but the extra weight is making it much less enjoyable. My main problem is eating - I’m terrible for constantly snacking on biscuits, crisps and chocolate.

Shortly after my earlier post, I realised I was about to get my period so have myself the day off as all I can do is consume carbs. As I was out with friends, I was relatively restrained but did have a cake when we stopped for coffee and then had a pizza in the restaurant rather than something lighter. I also had sugar in my tea when for the rest of my cycle just the thought of adding sugar sets my teeth on edge!

Lexie365 · 07/01/2022 01:33

Well done everyone, some great starts! Today was my second day back on track with food. I find I need to get back into healthy eating properly before I can even consider doing exercise🤦‍♀️ so will be another couple of days before I start back doing exercise lol. I have been losing weight doing the 5:2 diet and then eventually 4:3 so tomorrow will hopefully be my first fast day since before xmas. I know it's supposed to be 500 calories on fast days but started on 600 calories and then changed to 800 calories and have been losing the same amount. I gained 4lbs through xmas so I'm 11st exactly and need to get down to 9st 7lbs so a stone and a half exactly to lose. I might decide to go a bit lower when there but I'm not sure yet. I just want to say to all of you that YOU GOT THIS!! My start weight was 15st 1lb and I have always struggled with my weight but I was at my heaviest weight ever and was really unhappy. I'm not finished yet but I am already so so much happier and more confident x

Lexie365 · 07/01/2022 01:34

Also I wat between 1500-1700 calories on my non fast days x

Dumpydump · 07/01/2022 18:23

Right, this weekend is the real test! Away all weekend for my niece's birthday. 2x meals out and all other food and drink at my brother's house! Definitely going to have to ramp up the willpower!

Good luck! It's so hard when you are staying at someone else's house.

Anotherhill · 08/01/2022 14:31

I’ve got a Scott Baptie high protein recipe in the slow cooker, so hopefully that will stop the manic snacking while I’m trying decide what to cook for tea. He does lots of high protein meals so worth following on FB if you’re wanting inspiration. I really want to go on the treadmill, but it’s in the garage which is freezing so I’m struggling to no make b myself.

WitchDancer · 08/01/2022 16:48

It's been a busy week for sure. I did weigh in earlier and was happy with 2lb off. Quite how I don't know because there's been a lot of Christmas food still around, although my meals have been ok I suppose.

My treadmill keeps nagging me - it's in the bathroom so I can't avoid it.... my health is just stopping me at the moment Sad

Well wasn't too bad whilst away. Chose the lowest calorie meal at the Harvester (and turned down birthday cake!!!) yesterday. Today we went to a carvery. I couldn't resist a couple of roasties and a Yorkshire pud but did try to fill most of my plate with veg. Main issue is I've hardly done any exercise, have spent most of my weekend either in the car or sat on my arse 🤣 I guess only tomorrow's scale check will tell but feeling pretty proud that I didn't use it as an excuse be to go completely of the rails 😊 Back to it properly tomorrow. Hope you all have a lovely weekend xx
