I really need to sort myself out. I look and feel a mess, hardly any of my clothes fit me.

I've had enough of feeling this way so have decided to do something about it.

Just hit my 50's and want to get back into doing my hair and make up and looking after myself.

A couple of stones need to be lost, I am about to get on the scales. It's been a long time coming 😁

It's my weigh in day today and lost another 2.5 since last time I posted. Lost 8.5 in total now 🙂 feeling pretty good because I'm not being overly restrictive just being very aware of portion size and ensuring that I track on mfp. Keep telling myself that I will start upping the exercise but so far haven't got much further than re changing/wearing my Fitbit. Usually do around 8000 steps so even if I just topped that up with a evening walk it would probably help me feel a bit fitter.

Hello! I have 6 stone to lose, and am ready to start. Have bought a second hand cross trainer to get me moving each morning before work and am going to start drawing up meal plans for next week.

@Squirrelblanket well done! That's a great start. I hope I will have lost something by Tuesday which will be my weigh day. Right, I've decided - I'm going to force myself to the pool tomorrow. No excuse at all - DH and I paid a year's subscription to a fancy gym back in July just so that I could use their lovely warm pool/steam room/ jacuzzi. I haven't been since August and DH who only joined to keep me company has only been 3 times altogether. I was going most days up until our holiday over August Bank holiday and I haven't been back since. I'm pretty disgusted with myself so with the support on here I'm going to try harder! It's the danger zone for me today - Friday lunch in the pub with the girls. Lunch is going to be carby as there isn't really anything along the Keto line on the menu. Will be mindful and do my best. Have a good day all.

too I'd love to have a cross trainer at home, or a rowing machine.

Struggled with irritability today around 5pm till I ate at 7.

I do also feel tired but I guess that always happens with weight loss. Tbh I have gained and lost weight before mostly due to stressful circumstances, so actually planning it slowly is new for me.

I have had four cups of coffee, I normally stick with one but I kept feeling sleepy over an Excel report that I really didn't want to screw up!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Went for a walk in the forest this morning, feel much better than last week which I think is just down to getting more exercise. 2 cigarettes yesterday (not good!) but none today.

I’m thinking of going swimming - we have a new swimming pool in our town (took about 7 years to build 😁) so I could cycle there, swim and cycle back. In theory anyway!

I have fallen off the wagon. Weekends are my biggest point of failure and seem to run from Friday afternoon through to Sunday night. I really, really need to try and break the bad habits. That said, I really did enjoy the pork roll with all the trimmings that I had earlier and I have RAGING PMT and bloat, it's awful.

I won't lie, the kids want toad in the hole for lunch tomorrow so I'll be back on it on Monday. But I'm not going to pig out, I'll still eat less. So sort of on the wagon but dangling my arms off the sides Grin

I'm the same! Had my friend over. Made a healthyish chicken dish but then couldn't resist seconds and a big slice of bread and butter to mop up the juices! However did manage to avoid the alcohol and desert so an improvement on the norm. I'm not going to beat myself up because long term I think I need to allow myself wiggle room otherwise I do completely fall off the wagon. Back on it today 😊

Gawd. Shove up, me too @TripleTipplePipple, @DaisyNGO and @Indiekid84. It all started in the pub on Friday with a blasted cheese and ham panini. I then couldn't resist the gorgeous stew and dumplings I'd put on in the slow cooker for DH and DGS - it smelt so homely and comforting! I'm not proud of the big bowl of that I ate on Friday evening.
Yesterday things went even further downhill - toast was consumed, cheese roll AND fish and chips [homemade!] Oh, and numerous biscuits. Not one healthy morsel in sight. I am ashamed of my festival of carbs. This morning unsurprisingly I am a pound heavier that I started on Tuesday. Aaaaaargh!
Right. I am back on this today. Thanks for listening - I almost didn't come back here as I'm so ashamed of myself but your honest updates encouraged me to do the same.

Relieved to be able to tell the truth.

The amount of weight I have to lose, I should be able to lose quickly.

I weighed in this morning. No pounds lost.

I am so sick of being fat. I try to ignore it because otherwise it would bug me all day. But it's really annoying.

Thank you all - very helpful and heartwarming to know that there are a few of us in the same boat. I go on holiday 6 weeks on Tuesday and really want to have got under 13 stone by then. My holiday clothes look awful at the moment with my great big bread baby leading the way out front.

I met someone I have never met in person, only through work emails, a couple of weeks ago. I felt really self conscious. As if my beer belly makes me less professional. I know it's silly, but I went home thinking "what will she think of me now".

I might have to start logging everything I eat but I already feel like whining how dull that is!

I'm almost afraid to say this out loud in case I jinx myself

I have had no chocolate biscuits cake sweets or ice cream for 3 days

I don't think I have gone one day this year without gorging on all of the above

Scared to weigh as it will depress me but if I can continue to do well will do so in another week

I'm reading all your posts and taking inspiration from you all

@hazelgrey that's brilliant - keep going one day at a time and you will get there.
I've been good so far today. I had bacon and egg for lunch and planning to have pork chop with loads of vegetables and a pepper sauce for dinner. I can add roast potatoes and Yorkshires for the others to make it into a roast dinner for them but I will resist and step away from the carbs. I have one sugar free jelly with raspberries left in the fridge so I'll have that afterwards.

Just for inspiration this was me October 2020 44 11st 8lbs heaviest I have even been and doctor put me on high blood pressure medication. Said as I didnt drink or smoke the only thing I could try to come off it was to lose weight and start exercising. I hadn't been under 11 stone in 15 years. It was a hard slog calorie counting every day to stick at 1200 calories. Some weeks I did it some I didnt Xmas was hard but I was so determined kept looking at my kids and thinking I needed to do better for them. Swam once a week pilates once a week. In April 2021 I was 10st 3 and am still around that sometimes 10 4 sometimes 10 2. I honestly thought it was just my age ect ect. But it can be done and god do I feel better for it I feel younger healthier and my clothes fit so much better. I was worried it would make me look older but it hasn't so far. I think if I went daft and lost another stone it would age me though so I am getting weighed once a week now and am determined to hit 50 at this weight.

Just going to creep in here and join everyone who fell of the wagon over the weekend! I was fine until Saturday lunchtime, but I live in France aka the land of cheese and bread 🥖 and may have eaten tonnes some. Won’t even mention the cigarettes 😭

On the plus side, went for a run and did some gardening.

Back on it today. I realised over the weekend that I over eat in the evenings and consequently go to bed feeling awful and it affects my sleep. So I think I'm going to have a rule of no eating after 8pm and try and have dinner much earlier to give my stomach time to catch up. I slept much better in the week last week when I was watching my calories and drinking more water and I'm sure it's just because my body isn't trying to process so much food. I've got a busy day at work today but also due my period so I'm really bloated. Could be a long day!

Triple - I have the opposite problem. If I don't feel pretty full, I don't sleep.

I have eaten and plan an early night so hopefully am done on the food front!
