I really need to sort myself out. I look and feel a mess, hardly any of my clothes fit me.

I've had enough of feeling this way so have decided to do something about it.

Just hit my 50's and want to get back into doing my hair and make up and looking after myself.

A couple of stones need to be lost, I am about to get on the scales. It's been a long time coming 😁

Op we must be twins. All your numbers are the same as mine.
Let’s do this. It would make me soooo happy to lose some weight and look better. Even 10lbs would make a huge difference.

@TheQueenOfDreams hello twin, I agree 10lbs would make a massive difference to me. I carry most of my excess weight on my stomach so clothes look terrible.

It doesn't help that I am not very tall, only 5'4

This sounds like the thread for me too. I’ve put on 3 stone, in part due to medication but mostly making bad food choices. Hardly any of my clothes fit at the moment. If I could lose 2 stone I’d be back in normal BMI range at least.

I also stupidly cut my hair off in the summer which was my crowning glory so I am currently a fat little ball with fluffy hair as I try to grow it back again. Hopefully if I can stay in plan by Christmas I’ll look better on both fronts!

Can I join you? Two stone overweight at least now, probably more like 3stone if I wanted to get to my ideal weight. Have put MFP back on my phone and will start today. I'm actually sick of food but eat because I'm bored in the evenings. Barely any of my clothes fit, I look old and bloated and just feel horrible at the moment. I need to move more so I'm going to try and keep busy in the evenings and be a bit more active. I'm 12st today.

Can I join? I'm 48, and 12st 1lb. I've been meaning to try and lose weight for ages but we took some photos on Saturday - there is no distinction between my face and my neck ☹ I was so down all weekend. I knew my clothes we much tighter even in the bigger size, and I've been the same weight for a few months, so it might be middle aged spread but the fat neck and double chin have upset me more that a tight waist band.

@WibbleyWobble I too seem to have acquired the double chin and fat neck. I hate it, you cant even try and hide it with clothes.

Good morning everyone :) I find it’s easy (kind of!) to have a healthy lifestyle at weekends - went for a walk yesterday, ate homemade veg soup, etc. (Also cake but it was a birthday party 😁). The real challenge is during the week when there’s work and all the rest of it.

Aims for today: no snacking. I work from home within easy reach of the kitchen. No chance of going back to the office as I am self employed! Also, go for a run at lunchtime. I will need to be super efficient in order to have time to fit this in.

I definitely need this! Probably about 1.5 stone to lose although I've been kidding myself it is only 1 stone. I basically eat far too much sweet and sugary food, I dog walk every day and also run/hiit when I can but it isn't enough to counteract a desk job (at home) and eating all the crap! Blush

Plan is to eat better, 2 meals a day, avoid chocolate and be half a stone down by Christmas. I really want this extra weight to be just a temporary blip of "lockdown weight" and not become my new normal!

I'll weigh in tomorrow as have had too many drinks already today and I like to do it first thing.

Can I join in please? I'm creeping back up to a weight I was at after my dd was born 8 years ago and I need to get it under control. Last time I lost 3 stone with slimming world but got disillusioned with it.

I’ll join in too - have a ton of weight to lose that I put on after having DD and never managed to shift. Last year I lost 1.5 stone but it all went back on during lockdown, gah. I eat pretty healthily, don’t have a sweet tooth and don’t snack, but just too much of it, and I need to cut out the glasses of wine too. Normally find a combination of low carb and low calorie works for me but I have to be really focused and I have loads to lose!

What horrifies me is the back fat!!
Im not huge. Bmi 26 which would give a tall woman back fat but im 5'1 with back fat, no boobs and a tummy 😁 Im gorgeous.

Even 10lb would also help me look so much better in my clothes!

I am day 1 of week 3 of low carb and i have lost 2lbs. It seems slow, but im sticking with it.

When i lost weight doing keto it was so quick, people commented and i found it a bit embarrassing so maybe this slower weight loss is more likely to set patterns that will stick.

Here's to health!! And being able to zip up my northface brooklyn parka before it gets cold. Northface sizing is harsh

I mean a bmi of 26 would not give a taller woman back fat. I left out a word. But being short is a gift that keeps giving

@IComeInPeace yeah, the back fat 😫I love polo necks but I just can't do them now. It's not just the fat between under arm and boob, it's the bulge under the bra strap at the back. Getting bigger all the time. Grrrr

I got married last month and was so grateful my dress didn't make my back look fat but I look at pictures and I'm not 100% happy. Dress fitted amazing but you know when you can just see it Sad

I keep losing a couple of pounds, then eating loads of chocolate and sweets and putting it back on! Send chocolate help!

Educatingarti I keep doing Couch to 5K, then once I’m good at running I feel like I don’t need to train anymore so it’s fine to sit on the sofa eating crisps instead 🤦‍♀️

Today was ok. Managed not to snack, went for a walk. Still too many fags though.

Hi all, going to read through the thread because I have just had enough.

Being overweight is all I think about. Nothing is enjoyable because I’m feel so awful. I’m coasting through life being miserable and I’m going to look back and regret not getting my act together!

Glad I'm not the only one feeling fed up with the extra weight. My first day went well. I'm calorie counting and stuck to my 1800. Went for a swim which was really nice. Just off to bed now, I need to try and stop falling asleep on the sofa in the evening because I wake up feeling awful.

I listen to podcasts to fall asleep and have just searched through Spotify for some weight loss related ones to try and get me in the zone. Will report back if any are any use.

My first day went well too apart from forgetting to weigh in to get an accurate starting weight. Today I concentrated on controlling snacking between meals.

@user911 sorry to hear you feel the same way. I went shopping today, such a miserable experience when you’re overweight. Stuck in this headspace of not wanting to buy anything because I want to lose weight first and thinking - well I still need clothes … but then everything in the shops you need to be thin for it to look good! So now I don’t even want to go anywhere because I look and feel like crap and it just ends up taking over your whole life doesn’t it!

Would love to hear everyone’s methods.

I would like to join too pls. I started to lose last year when lockdown started, but it's all back on Sad Feel really bloated, stiff and uncomfortable.

Plan to reduce carbs, exercise and get decent steps in. Starting tomorrow!

Yesterday was difficult so I’m going to get going today. I’ve had a few days of eating hardly any fruit and veg. I’m not sure why that happened but now I’m stuck in that ‘snack on carb/sugar to keep going’ cycle.
My plan today includes fasting, a big bowl of veg soup for lunch, fruit for snacks and dinner of rice, veg and chicken.
