Chubby Mum looking for online friends to shift a stone with.

5 minutes of ring fit and 10 mins of yoga this morning so expecting to have lost a dress size by tomorrow.

Please join me so we can turn up at the school gates in September with glowing skin and smaller muffin tops.

@alphabetspagetti don’t be hard on yourself. The loaf sounds amazing. Some of your weight this morning is probably water retention from the carbs. You can turn it around today, drink plenty of water and get moving.

My group of friends are all slim and very active. What I’ve noticed over the years is they don’t deny themselves anything, they just eat slightly smaller portions than I probably would. They seem to have a natural cut off which I don’t have. They also don’t snack. Not sure if it’s a choice or they don’t need to.

@Bakethecakeeatthecake fasting going fine, partly helped by the fact I have an upset stomach and don't feel like eating anyway.

I'm going to make my weigh in day a Friday going forward I think. Fingers crossed for a pound off by then!

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 31/08/2021 17:42

Hope the fasting this morning wasnt too hard @alphabetspagetti. It sounds like you had a great social weekend though, life would be boring if we had to be strict 24/7/365.

Its funny you should say that @Bakethecakeeatthecake because I started eating healthy about 6/7 weeks ago and at first I was snacking often because I was always feeling hungry. This past week I've noticed I'm snacking much less because I'm just not as hungry.

Hope your stomach is feeling better now @shouldistop

I had 2 slim bagels with chicken and cheese when I got in last night to get in those extra calories.
I'm doing ok foodwise today too, have had 800 cals so far and that includes dinner so I'll be able to have something else later. I'm absolutely exhausted though, think I went back to work too soon after my sickness and only managed a half hearted dumbbell workout.

shouldistop · 31/08/2021 17:58

@Coffeeanddarkchoc I'm still not feeling well, thumping headache now too even though I've been trying to sip water all day.
I weighed myself out of curiosity and I've lost 3lbs since yesterday so I suppose a stomach bug is a good way to lose weight.

shouldistop · 31/08/2021 18:00

How much weight have you all lost so far? Do you do weekly weigh ins?

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 31/08/2021 18:08

Sounds rough, I hope you are feeling better soon.

I weigh every saturday morning and I've lost 11lb in 6 weeks. I only lost half a pound last week so hoping for a bigger drop this week. I still have a couple more stone to lose though. I'm a very chubby mummy.

MrsHookey · 31/08/2021 18:09

Can I join in?

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 31/08/2021 18:25

Hi @MrsHookey, of course Smile hope you are having a good day

shouldistop · 31/08/2021 19:27

@Coffeeanddarkchoc 11lbs in 6 weeks is amazing. Well done!

MrsHookey · 31/08/2021 20:02

@Coffeeanddarkchoc thank you.

LittleFroggie · 31/08/2021 20:18

Well done all!! I started off well and did a nice yoga session in my garden this morning. It made me think I should be taking my training into the garden more often as it’s so lovely breathing the fresh air (obv rain withstanding Grin ). Started with lemon and hot water and had a healthy lunch of prawns, sweet peppers and cucumbers. Then had a stressful afternoon potty training the toddler and reached for a packet of crisps! Grrrr!!! I felt awful afterwards as I didn’t even like them ( I love crisps but I didn’t buy the ones I like on purpose!!). Anyway luckily I managed not to spiral off into just eating anything and thinking the day was ruined as I would normally. Had a good rest of the day, just had halloumi, sweet potato pakora, sugar snap peas and spinach for dinner and sat with a green tea. Unbelievably I’ve stuck to 1200 calories today which seems fine, just annoyed about the crisps as want to ditch them. I think I need to build in a good snack at that point in the day!!

shouldistop · 01/09/2021 07:25

11 st 13 lbs this morning so 5lbs off. I know it's because of this bug but it's given me a bit of a boost to keep up the fasting.

Shefliesonherownwings · 01/09/2021 09:56

@Coffeeanddarkchoc that’s a great loss, well done. You too @shouldistop. Good work.

Yoga in the garden sounds so lovely @LittleFroggie.

I had a not so great day yesterday. 2 friends came over to visit, one brought donuts and the other cookies Shock I resisted the donuts but had a cookie and a couple of biscuits. We also had Nando’s but I stuck to chicken with veg and salad. Normally I’d be having chips and coleslaw so I was proud of myself.

Still can’t exercise due to my back and I’m stuck in today doing a work KIT day, with the baby here so I suspect it will be hard day. So far I’ve had a boiled egg and toast for breakfast. Hoping for salad for lunch and dinner but it’s the snacking that is my downfall when I’m stressed or bored. Need to rely on fruit or rice cakes if I can.

LittleFroggie · 01/09/2021 10:10

@Shefliesonherownwings good luck!! What do you put on your rice cakes? I’m always looking for new ideas as I do avocado and tomato on mine - need to branch out a bit.

I’ve had two eggs with mixed seeds sprinkled on top, handful of spinach and handful of strawberries for breakfast. Also went to the gym this morning so feeling good!! Have a fab day ladies!

amibeingsillyagain · 01/09/2021 10:13

Good morning , I'd love to join please .
I had a moment at 3am this morning that at 5'7" I am
Currently weighing in at 13st 11 lbs!!!
Jesus I've been so caught up Int he summer eating ,drinking and rushing around ; that it's really crept up. Since Monday I've been eating only protein and fruit/ veg aswell as loads of water . I find that when I need to reduce the bloat and Kick start things, that works for me .
I really can't believe I've got to this place ! I like how I look generally , I dress for my
Body shape. I'm still hanging in at a size 14, wear daily shape underwear and generally try to present as best I can but I'm actullay really annoyed with myself . I'm aiming for a stone down this month . Swapping wine... which I drank continuously over the summer, for gin and slimline tonics only at a weekend and getting out for a brisk 30 minute walk each evening . I hope it won't be too draining as we are all back to work and school after summer holidays and are exhausted.... no wonder when I'm nearly three stone overweight !!!
I also started hrt which made me look six months pregnant but I'm determined to shift a stone this month and another in a two month period and then accept the slow down but get to 11 stone by Christmas . A long trek but it's the lightbulb moment and this post that's really spurned me on, thanks .

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 01/09/2021 11:50

Welcome @amibeingsillyagain and @MrsHookey nice to have more company.

Thank you for sharing healthy food ideas. Great inspiration when everyone else in the house would rather eat nuggets and cookies.

I’m really cross with myself that I was in exactly the same position last summer. Spent all autumn getting to the correct weight and then 2021 has so far just been an upward trend of weight gain. After always being a sensible weight I’ve become a yo-yo dieter. My Fitbit weight graph looks like a cross section of a mountain range.

Plan for today is brisk walk. Water. More veg.

amibeingsillyagain · 01/09/2021 17:43

I went into my first pregnancy twenty years ago at 12 stone so even if I got to that by end of November I would be thrilled .
It's like I was just coasting along for years and then suddenly realised ... shot I'm nearly fourteen stone and it really doesn't suit me !
Best of luck everyone

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 01/09/2021 19:45

Your meals sound delicious @LittleFroggie

Hope the day went ok @Shefliesonherownwings

@amibeingsillyagain I am a few pounds heavier than you and like your plan of how to get down to 11st by christmas. I would love if I could manage that too.

Did you manage the brisk walk @Bakethecakeeatthecake?

Feels like the exact same happened to be @amibeingsillyagain. In fact I was not to heavy after my 2yo but then life stress and covid and wfh happened and boom I'm 14 stone. It was a real wake up call when I finally realised.

I've done ok calories wise today and did half a dumbbell workout - I figure thats better than none. Off to look for an evening snack now. I always get stuck im a rut of eating the same things over and over, then get fed up.

Shefliesonherownwings · 01/09/2021 20:02

@LittleFroggie I’m not very adventurous with the rice cakes, normally houmous, avocado, cream cheese with cucumber or tomato and sometimes I’ll do branston pickle with tomato. That ones an acquired taste! I go for the snack a jack chocolate chip rice cakes too.

Another up and down day, I ended up finishing the babies lunch of macaroni and veg as I didn’t have time to make my own. There were only a few spoonfuls left but not good for my no carbs after breakfast, plan. I’ve had a healthy Joe Wicks dinner of chorizo with veg but I admit to having a couple of biccies and a bite of one of the leftover donuts 😔 I’ve had fruit and yoghurt today too and I’ll have a rice cake after dinner but not my best work. Hope you’ve all had a good one.

LittleFroggie · 01/09/2021 20:07

I just did a bloody run!!!!!! Wahooooooooo!!! Only 3km but I was sweating buckets, I’m so proud!!! Felt brilliant to be able to do that. Just had a shower and in clean pyjamas, going to celebrate with a healthy sea bass dinner (and DH brought me home my absolute favourite sweet treat tonight - macarons. Bastard!!!! ) I’m having two and that’s it, sticking to 1200 calories so sea bass will have to be light!!! Grin

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 01/09/2021 22:32

@LittleFroggie, amazing. Well done you.

Morning everyone, less than a week to go until school starts (if they’re not already back or too young/old for school) how’s everyone feeling?

Finally good news on the scales for me this morning. I’ve dropped a couple of pounds and by the skin of my teeth I am back in the correct bmi group.

I’m carrying a good extra stone round my middle though so that’s still my target, shift the middle age spread before it stays for good.

Hope everyone had a good day today Grin

I've had a hectic day. Still catching up on work after being out sick last week. Childcare fell through today so had 2yo at home all day while working. 7yo back to school already so had to take a very late lunch and collect him from school on my lunch break. Then when collected him, found out he had caught finger in a door at school so had to go to shops after work for antiseptic cream for him.

The result of all that is I've had a 100 cal breakfast , completely forgot to have lunch and then had chicken nuggets and chips (450 calories)for dinner. So I'm way under calories wise and know that forgetting meals then eating nuggets and chips is not going to help me Sad

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 02/09/2021 18:42

Last line meant to be 'but know' not 'and know'

LittleFroggie · 02/09/2021 19:08

Hi everyone. Thanks @Bakethecakeeatthecake 😃 Work day today. Up at 6 so I had time for my 30 minutes workout and a lemon tea in the garden. Greek yoghurt and berries for breakfast. Felt so fresh this morning!! Lunch was really hard as everyone ordered a curry euuugh the smell!! I felt really antisocial sitting with my lunchbox salad (even if it was king prawns yum). Dropped in to the shop on the way home to pick up some more fresh fruit and veg as I’m getting through so much Grin After work I had rice cakes with hummus, roast chicken and tomatoes. Just about to go for an evening run (hopefully 2 or 3 k) and then having more of the roast chicken, a couple of roasties and lots of broccoli for dinner. Hope you’re all having a good one.
