Morning!! Did my 30 minutes exercise this morning, then had hot water and fresh lime. Breakfast was a poached egg with one slice of toast and rocket. Lots of water. Off to take the DC for a walk this morning - hope you have a fab day!!!!

Shefliesonherownwings · 27/08/2021 10:25

Morning! Had my fruit and yogurt for breakfast. Am off out for dinner tonight so will have a very low calorie lunch, maybe salad or a shake. I’ve looked at the menu for this evening and it’s a bit slim pickings for something low carb but I’ll find something. I’ll be having a wine so I’m not going to be super good, but I won’t go mad either. I’m going to do my very best not to have a dessert which will be the biggest temptation.

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 27/08/2021 13:01

Happy friday everyone!

We're off to my sisters for a bbq this evening so I've had a light breakfast and lunch and have done a dumbbell workout. I'm starving now though Sad. I wanted to save as many calories as possible for this evening, although DSis is also trying to lose weight so thankfully there will be low cal options there.

LittleFroggie · 27/08/2021 20:37

Hope you’re doing well! I’ve had 4 meals today but stuck to 1200 calories and it worked much better for me. I think I’m going to try and stick to four small meals going forward. Hope the bbq and meal out go well!!

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 27/08/2021 21:01

Sounds like a good plan to have 4 small meals a day.

Bbq went well. Dsis had low cal (turkey) burger and low cal (chicken) sausages, so had less than 500 cals for the full dinner!

Came home and just had a dark mint kitkat and some low cal crisps Smile

LittleFroggie · 27/08/2021 21:10

Ooh well done, I like turkey burgers. Lovely! 😃

alphabetspagetti · 27/08/2021 22:03

The sounds like a good BBQ. I've never done or tried a turkey burger but imagine it would taste good.
This exercise/diet malarkey is tedious. No proper exercise today other than a brisk 15 min walk so I've only done 7000 steps. Food wise has been OK for a Friday but not amazing for a day on a diet - fasted until lunch time when I had a (massive) tuna salad with avocado followed by an apple; boiled egg mid afternoon; toast & marmite when I got in; cottage pie & beans for tea; a few Pringles and a couple of crackers

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 27/08/2021 22:13

Great BBQ food. I’ve not had a successful day, but going to do a bit of yoga and floor work before bed.

Weigh in this morning and I've lost half a pound. So not great but still going in the right direction. Foodwise, I'm sticking to the calories, so think Im doing ok there. I just need to get motivation to do my exercises.

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 28/08/2021 07:38

@Coffeeanddarkchoc that’s great, well done.

Good bits about yesterday: managed to resist the mid-afternoon munchies, didn't eat any sweets when the DC had some and I only had two crisps and 8 peanuts when at my friends house
Bad bits: I was supposed to fast until lunchtime but woke up ravenous so had toast with avocado & prawns; I was supposed to say no to wine at a friends house and just drink water but she poured me a glass and handed it to me and I just wanted it ... and the second one!
I am finding 12,000 steps impossible. I am getting to 10,000 each day but just can't fit in the extra.
I had been 3lbs down yesterday which will no doubt have been affected by the fine. I'm hoping to lost another 2lbs by Thurs so my weight when the DC go back to school is the same as when they finished the term. Ideally, another 2lbs in the week after that. Normally, I can only lose 2lbs or so a month but some of this is still holiday bloat that I'm getting rid of.

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 29/08/2021 07:42

Well done @alphabetspagetti 10k a day is great. I only got to 9k yesterday, (but I did take down and pack a tent, sleeping bags and mattresses which felt like the equivalent of an Iron Man.)

Only ten days until back to school for us and 17 days until I have to wear a swimming costume in front of people I know. I need to use that as inspiration to put the carbs down. If I don’t do something about it I know I’ll really regret it on the day.

Morning all! Hope everyone is ok. Somehow despite no exercise this week and a three course meal with wine on Friday night, I’ve managed to lose 2 stone this week Shock

I’ve definitely been better with snacking and less carbs so I’m going to keep doing what I’ve been doing including another night out this Friday. Grin

If I can lose 2lbs a week until our holiday in three weeks I’ll be under 12 stone and very happy. 🤞🏼 Happy Sunday all.

Shefliesonherownwings · 29/08/2021 08:08

Haha not 2 stone!! 2 lbs 🤪

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 29/08/2021 08:54

Wow well done everyone!!!

I don’t weigh myself so I’m just going by how I feel and I definitely feel better today than a week ago! Hoping to squeeze back into one of my dresses i happily wore before lockdown for my sister’s hen do next month. I’m only a little bit off but it feels really hard to actually make a difference. I can feel I’m more energetic and healthier but shrinking seems hard if that makes sense? I’ve done my 30 mins exercise this morning and I’ve stuck to approx 1200 calories all week (apart from day one of period where I had 1200 calories plus a glass of wine and bar of chocolate 🤣). Better than that, all the food I’ve chosen has been full of good stuff - loads of veggies, fruit, seafood, beans, eggs, nuts and seeds with some meat. I’ve not had coffee for four days either which is huge for me and drinking lots more water. I’ll be keeping dry white wine and dark chocolate as a treat for when I really need it but overall I’m eating better than ever. I’m ditching dairy and refined sugar this week as I feel miles better without them anyway. Good luck ladies!

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 29/08/2021 11:57

@LittleFroggie that’s brilliant, well done you. Great to hear you feel better for it too.

Sounds like some really positive weekends here Smile. Well done.

My PT has upped the intensity of my home workouts (that I didnt do for the last 2 weeks) but I actually did todays workout Grin. Dragged my rowing machine out to the grass and did my 20 mins there. Had a light breakfast and light lunch and Im not feeling the urge to snack as much this weekend, so Im thinking I might also switch to 4 smaller meals a day.

I got my second vaccine yesterday and spotted myself in a hotel mirror. Why do you always look smalller in the mirrors at home, then massive in shops/hotels. Does anyone else feel like that?

shouldistop · 29/08/2021 21:21

Can I join?

Already at the school gates unfortunately as ds1 started p1 a couple of weeks ago.

I've been using breastfeeding ds2 as an excuse to not go on a strict diet but given he's almost 9 months old I don't think it would affect my milk supply so that excuse is up.

Was thinking of doing 16:8 which I had some luck with before.

Only eat between 9.30am & 5.30pm basically.

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 30/08/2021 14:10

Welcome @shouldistop.

Weighed myself this morning 12st4lbs - eek! I'd love to be down to 11st by the time I go back to work in the new year. I fear I'll just need to get used to feeling hungry.
Today hasn't been particularly healthy so far but I didn't have my usual 2 breakfasts that I'd gotten used to with doing the early morning feed. I'm determined to eat nothing after dinner tonight. Will just go to bed when the boys are down if I need to.

LittleFroggie · 30/08/2021 18:35

Good luck with the fasting! I find that really hard. Today I went for a picnic with friends and all our children. They turned up with freshly baked sausage rolls, handmade cakes.. it was unbelievable. I stuck with my hummus and carrot/ snap peas. Also has tuna with flax and sunflower seeds and some veggie straw crisps. It was hard and I don’t know how to deal with the social pressure of eating really yet. I stuck to my guns though and drank water all day too. Hope you’ve had a good day too!

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 30/08/2021 19:14

Thats the problem I have @shouldistop, when Im up earlier I get up or have breakfast early, I want a second breakfast 2 hours later! Its so hard.

That sounds extremely tough @LittleFroggie, you did so well to stick to your healthy food and drinks 👏

I was back working today after taking the last week and a half off sick and am now out as DS has football training. I've only eaten 500 calories today so need to get in at least another 500 when I get home but Im so tired Sad.

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 31/08/2021 06:36

@shouldistop how did the fasting go? Bfing made me so hungry. Fortunately my babies were milk monsters so it did help me to lose weight.

@LittleFroggie your picnic sounds delicious, lots nicer than sausage rolls.

@Coffeeanddarkchoc did you manage to eat something when you got home?

We’ve had a birthday in the house this week so that hasn’t helped. Annoyingly I’ve gained a small amount and I’ve just noticed it’s pushed me into the next BMI group. It’s a wake up call. I’ve never noticed before and it’s not where I want to be.

My name is alphabetspagetti and I'm an idiot. This bank holiday weekend I drank 4 glasses of wine, a glass of champagne and, worst of all, ate pretty much an entire caramelised walnut loaf. I need to channel my inner LittleFroggie!! Three glasses of wine were entirely social pressure and the load was a combination of greed and value for money as, having spent an extortionate sum on the delicious loaf, I was damn we'll going to make sure it got eaten. I am now back up to 10st13 and having yet another Monday (well, Tuesday this week) morning of beating myself up about having undone all of the good work of the previous week over the weekend.
If I could actually stick to a diet for four consecutive weekends as well as the weeks, I'd probably knock the half stone I've been trying to lose for about 5 years now on the head.
Fasting until lunch time and already hungry...
