Chubby Mum looking for online friends to shift a stone with.

5 minutes of ring fit and 10 mins of yoga this morning so expecting to have lost a dress size by tomorrow.

Please join me so we can turn up at the school gates in September with glowing skin and smaller muffin tops.

I did my post holiday weigh in this morning and, after a month, it was "only" a gain of 6lbs. Hopefully at least a couple of those will disappear quickly.
My aim for the next month is to walk 12,000 steps a day and eat 1200 calories a day.
I really need to lose 10lbs to get back within a healthy BMI but I have spent the last 20yrs slightly above that (and trying to get down to it) so would be happy with a 7lb loss. Having said that, there is no reason (other than lack of will power & lack of motivation) why I should be overweight.
How is everyone else doing?

LittleFroggie · 23/08/2021 15:38

I’m doing this too! Cutting all the crap out basically and ditching the lockdown carbs and wine habit! 🤣 Today I just had a coffee for breakfast as was on the go. For lunch I made rice noodles, king prawns, chorizo and rocket. No sauce, just squeezed a whole fresh lime over it and tasted delicious! I’ve got some nuts and an apple for snacking soon and this evening we’re having tuna steak with spinach and cottage cheese. I’m sticking to 30 minutes of exercise every morning before the DC wake up and then trying to get us all out and about as much as possible in the days. It’s hard but hoping to really stick to it!!! Good luck all

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 23/08/2021 16:57

@DollyPartBaked i was allowed to have dark chocolate with mine but still that wasnt even good enough for me. Actually realised a while ago that I forgot to have breakfast at all this morning and really felt hungry mid afternoon after lunch.

@alphabetspagetti good luck! My Dsis is on 1200 cals a day with lots of steps and she has really slimmed down quickly.

Your meals sound delicious @LittleFroggie and good idea to do the exercise early morning to get it out of the way. I should probably try that.

alphabetspagetti · 23/08/2021 17:27

Are any of you using MyFitnessPal? I do from time to time and today has reminded me why I should do more often. Those grapes I mindlessly ate whilst getting some for DS... 50 calories. The leftover half apple that I finished ... another 50 calories. The oat cakes I ate to keep me going until dinner - a whopping 200 calories.
I could have had a 600 cal dinner but am now looking at a 300 cal one

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 23/08/2021 19:30

I do @alphabetspagetti I've been logging everything for the past 5ish weeks. Its such an eye opener and really holds me accountable for what I eat.

I' m wondering what to have for my evening snack now.

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 23/08/2021 20:01

Thanks for sharing the tips and food ideas. I haven’t fallen into a good routine yet. I’ve used My Fitness pal briefly once before. Might take another look at it.

I find the more blobby and lazy I am the less energy I have and therefore become more blobby and lazy. Need to break the cycle with more exercise.

@Coffeeanddarkchoc thanks!! All starting well.. it’s keeping it up that’s tough! Hopefully we can keep each other going Smile

alphabetspagetti · 23/08/2021 21:06

@Bakethecakeeatthecake I know exactly what you mean!
1136 calories today and just over 15000 steps so far. Probably a few hundred more before I go to bed. I'm going to look at the average over the week rather than just each day's total so am feeling slightly ahead of the game now!

LittleFroggie · 24/08/2021 14:20

Did my 30 minutes this morning and managed to take the DC out for a walk too. So far breakfast was two poached eggs, one slice of schar wholesome toast and spinach. Lunch was king prawns with fried courgette and butter beans with some cottage cheese. Planning a 4pm snack of nuts and fresh sliced apricots. Dinner will be halloumi “burger” on a bed of sweet peppers and rocket.
Need to drink more water and cut down the coffee. Considering switching to peppermint tea as I like that.
How is everyone else doing?

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 24/08/2021 15:38

Started the day well and cleared out bags and bags of old clothes, but now feeling de-motivated and dont want to do my exercise. Hope I'll feel up for it a bit later on.

Have had around 600 cals so far today so doing well on that side of things.

alphabetspagetti · 24/08/2021 21:21

Hello
LittleFroggie - that all sounds delicious.
1100 calories consumed; 10,500 steps done so I'm hoping to do another 1500 in the next hour or so tidying up the house; 2l water drink; 40 min weights class done.
After yesterday's surprise with the number of calories in the grapes I mindlessly ate, I haven't grazed at all today - not even any cheese when making the DC's packed lunch. And I decided not to go to Costa when I was in town and had 30 mins to kill earlier which I'm quite proud of.

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 24/08/2021 22:59

11k steps done = good
What I’ve eaten = definitely not good

Stepped on the scales this morning and looks like I am up half a pound since Saturday. I really need to do my exercise today, tomorrow on Friday. Gonna try early morning as a PP suggested.

Shefliesonherownwings · 25/08/2021 08:05

Hi, I’m a bit late but can I join? We go on holiday in a month and I have a hen do just before we go so I’d like to lose half a stone. I have 2 and half stone total to lose ideally by the end of the year.

I started doing Joe Wicks food and exercise about a month ago but then hurt my back which is still sore so I’m having another week away from the gym. Yesterday I had fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, a Joe Wicks shake for lunch and seabass and salad for dinner. I did have a chocolate biscuit but otherwise healthy snacks. I had a dream my jeans fell off me so I’m expecting this to happen lol!

I desperately need motivation to keep me going. I have a 10 month old at home who is full on so it’s far too easy to just grab something quick, easy and naughty.

LittleFroggie · 25/08/2021 08:11

Good luck everyone! I’ve woken up today and started my period - feel really crampy and sore and just don’t want to do my exercise this morning. I’m telling myself it’s only one day right? I know I’ll be wanting to eat lots today so that’s going to be a challenge too. Hope you all have a good day!

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 25/08/2021 16:58

Welcome @Shefliesonherownwings. good luck with Joe Wicks and your falling jeans!

My legs are aching and my Fitbit hasn’t buzzed at me yet to tell me I’m at 10k, boooo. I’ve got chubby bits where I’ve never had them before so that’s motivation to loss some weight. Meal out today and I didn’t have pudding so my jeans better fall down later too.

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 25/08/2021 19:31

Well my plan to exercise this morning didnt go well. I did clean out my cupboard of aldi bags though and then forgot my exercise. Now its 7.30, I have a headache and am hungry (still havent had dinner) and the last thing I want to do is exercise Sad

alphabetspagetti · 25/08/2021 19:41

@Shefliesonherownwings I remember trying to lose the baby weight and it was such hard work. Too many distractions and other pressures and, in my case, a definite lack of sleep. Once I was back at work, at least I had a bit more control on those days.

OK day here... close to 10,000 steps and hoping to do another 2,000 before bed. A salad at lunchtime with salmon, avocado, grains & shed loads of veg. An oat cake (just the one not five like Monday!) with cheese & an apple and then a few cherries. I'm planning chicken risotto for tea.

I need to sort out my water intake. I keep forgetting so then drink a pint in one go and then need to dash to the loo shortly after. I think sipping the water might be more productive!

LittleFroggie · 25/08/2021 20:38

Crappy day here too!! Woke up with awful cramps and felt horrible all day so skipped my morning workout that I’ve been rigidly sticking to. I also had a bar of dairy milk and a glass of wine as was craving it like mad, I always have that first day my period. On the plus side though, I’ve also had three very healthy meals today, no other snacking and I did go on a nice big walk with the kids today. At least I tried my best!!

Shefliesonherownwings · 25/08/2021 20:58

Thanks @Bakethecakeeatthecake and @alphabetspagetti. It is so hard to shift the weight, not helped by the fact I was 2 stone overweight before I fell pregnant.

I had three pretty healthy meals today and minimal snacking but have had a nightmare evening work DS and I’m on my own tonight as DH is out so I’ve cracked and had a chocolate biscuit and a small wine. Tomorrow I am on the go all day with DS so not sure how I’m going to manage lunch, unless I take something with me which is a bit of a faff.

alphabetspagetti · 26/08/2021 19:29

LittleFroggie - I can empathise as I've also got my period today. Usually, that sends me diving for the chocolate and I just polish off one of those "family" bars of chocolate and then the sugar sends me into a sugar and carb hunting cycle. So, today, I have tried to control it by getting ahead of it. I usually fast until lunch time but instead had sourdough with a poached egg & smoked salmon at 10.30, then had a couple of plums and a nectarine at lunchtime as I wanted something sweet but was trying to avoid processed sugar. That didn't quite do the trick so I had a slice of sourdough & marmite and then a Cadburys mini roll (as there was only one left in the packet so I couldn't eat more of them even if I wanted to). I had a couple of crackers with cheese a short while ago and will be having steak and roast veg in an hour or so.
Not as low calorie as I would have liked but not so mindless and a lot, lot less sugar than usual.
I've been cleaning & sorting all day and did a weights class but have only managed 6,000 steps so far S o am about to do 30 mins on the cross trainer. Its the last thing I feel like but I learned years ago that exercise helps with my period pains so will have that benefit.
I've probably only drunk a litre of water so need to drink a lot more before I go to bed.

Shefliesonherownwings · 26/08/2021 20:05

Hi all. An up and down day for me. We went out at 11 and were out over lunchtime meeting a friend we haven’t seen in over a year and her kids. I had a big breakfast of poached eggs, grilled tomato and toast and then ended up having some breaded chicken at lunchtime anyway which defeated the purpose of the big breakfast. But we did have a long walk and I had teriyaki beef and veg for dinner. Just about to have some fruit and yoghurt.

LittleFroggie · 26/08/2021 20:28

Well done @alphabetspagetti !! Today I made a fruit salad which is obviously a lot of sugar but hugely preferable to the usual chocolate! Actually felt fine with that too. Also I’ve ditched the coffee and I’m drinking hot water and fresh lime throughout the day instead, it’s actually been really nice and refreshing today - see how that goes over the next week! Managed to make eggs for breakfast (I’m on annual leave at the moment - will be going back to a quick pot of natural yoghurt and pomegranate seeds next week). Lunch was sweet peppers, nuts and fried courgette. We roasted a chicken in lemon and thyme this evening and I had a breast with spinach, garden peas and two roast potatoes. I’m pretty pleased with that for day two of my period - would usually have eaten the house out!!! 🤣🤣

Bakethecakeeatthecake · 26/08/2021 20:43

Well done for fighting the hormone carb urges. Some really healthy food ideas too.

Busy couple of days here with lots of children in the house so I’ve not had much time to make sensible meals. Ive been on my feet constantly so hopefully I’ll have burned off the calories Ive eaten.

It’s a big job getting the weight off isn’t it. It doesn’t fall off easily unfortunately.

Morning everyone. Hope today goes well.
Master plan is to eat well, drink water, move lots. Going to listen to a podcast about processed food as well which should hopefully put me off eating it.
