Anyone up for a big fat body overhaul?

Seil · 31/07/2021 17:31

I'm fat, 55 and totally fed up.

I would love to look and feel nice again. I hate wearing clothes that cover my fat, I want to wear clothes that I actually like.

I definitely need to shift a couple of stone and make much more of an effort with my appearance.

Anyone else feel the same? Will be starting tomorrow if you are interested in joining me.

Happy Birthday!! @HerRoyalRisesAgain

CambsAlways · 11/08/2021 09:21

Grrrr I’ve lost two stone in 4 months and now hit plateau for last two weeks I do feel really good though but apart from being pleased with myself I’m getting quite frustrated as no more is coming off, well not yet anyway, tips please if anyone has any I’d appreciate them to lose that last stone, I’m in mid sixties on long term steriods, for last 13 years

YetAnotherWalk · 11/08/2021 12:44

Fab cake, happy birthday @HerRoyalRisesAgain

I'm happy to chat online @Geppili I work from home, so normally quite a lonely existence during the day time hours at least. Sending you a (((hug)))

Thanks for they hypnosis link @Lupellegrino Tried to listen last night but worried I'd fall asleep, run out of battery playing YouTube vids all night and over sleep Grin Tried to do it this morning when I got up - whole house asleep - and within 5 minutes of starting, I had company, so going to hope 3rd time lucky tonight while DH does bed time stories.

Hope you're all having a good day. Thanks for starting the thread @Seil

Geppili · 11/08/2021 16:00

@YetAnotherWalk How pleased was I to find someone had mentioned me on a thread! Thank you so much! I'm in a state of paralysis really. My lovely DC are around. But I tend to eat late at night alone. I used to do it as a child. My DM was anorexic and there was rarely a full larder from age 0 to 7. Then around my parent's divorce I developed night eating as comfort. Still doing it aged early 50s. It's like food calls to me at night. Its very weird and powerful. Sometimes I don't remember it until I see wrappers etc in the bin the next day. I'm also addicted to nicotine and caffeine! Hope everyone else is doing ok. Thanks so much for this thread.

Geppili · 11/08/2021 16:03

@HandlebarLadyTash that's exactly how I feel. I'm terrified of weighing myself. Someone help!!' Grin

YetAnotherWalk · 11/08/2021 20:08

Well that's enough to give anyone issues (((hugs))) CBT might be useful

Geppili · 11/08/2021 22:53

It's just not wanting to face the truth!

IWillWashTheGreenWillow · 13/08/2021 07:58

Foot surgery today, so exercise is right out for six weeks. I currently intend to use that time to sort out my diet and plan for healthful exercise, and look after myself properly. It's taken me a long time to realise that self-care is being nice to me - a little make up, some perfume, time to read or write or think. These things make me feel better and then I take better care of my diet and am more likely to exercise. It's only taken 47 years to realise it.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 13/08/2021 10:55

@IWillWashTheGreenWillow I hope the surgery goes well.

I'm another 1lb off this week. Shocking considering totm and all the cake I've eaten!

YetAnotherWalk · 13/08/2021 13:49

Hope you are all done and in recovery @IWillWashTheGreenWillow.

Well done @HerRoyalRisesAgain

Bumbling along. Weekend normally tricky, but then it's the summer holidays so not a lot of distinction between the two as everyone under my feet every day at the moment Grin

Self care is so important. I do hair and make up daily, but run out of energy so that by the end of the day I can barely make it up for shower and teeth brushing Blush Have booked in for a haircut in 2 weeks' time as I think autumn/winter may be tricky to get it done.

MintyCedric · 13/08/2021 15:12

Hmmm...self care.

While I've been off work I've barely worn make up, but have made the effort a few times recently until I lost my make up bag with it's entire contents about 2.5 weeks ago.

Have a busy weekend so hunted high and low and concluded it must have ended up in a rubbish or charity shop bag during my recent clearing out spree.

Went out yesterday and replaced everything to the tune of about £80 and guess what turned up an hour ago?!

Foodie weekend ahead as best friend coming to stay. Am only weighing once a month so will have a couple of weeks to put it right.

IWillWashTheGreenWillow · 13/08/2021 22:04

Evening all, just popping in to say I'm home with a very sexy orthopaedic sandal and some crutches. Basically I am to do nothing but pop painkillers and wiggle my toes for a fortnight! I have some gentle physio to do to keep hips, knees and ankles moving, and a very attractive compression stocking for the other leg. Oh, and two weeks of fragmin injections 😭

I'm about to attempt stairs, I hope to be in bed by 11! 😁

YetAnotherWalk · 14/08/2021 15:45

Sounds about right @MintyCedric

Hope you made it upstairs @IWillWashTheGreenWillow and that you're not in too much pain today.

YetAnotherWalk · 15/08/2021 20:13

Talking to myself, the thread killer Blush

Did you weigh in @Seil or anyone else? I'm down 0.5kg. Pleased with that!

IamMummyhearmeROAR · 15/08/2021 20:24

I weighed in today at 11stone 2 so I've lost 3 lbs this week. Very pleased! Back to work tomorrow. Staff room is always full of treats but I'm in the zone so feel confident I'll not crack

YetAnotherWalk · 16/08/2021 06:57

Fantastic, good luck at work.

Plan for the week: keep walking, eat reasonably well (shopping delivered last night), keep listening to the 30 weight loss hypnosis video on YT.

Shallwegoforawalk · 16/08/2021 11:55

I'm intrigued by this weight loss hypnosis - is it the one recommended by @Lupellegrino ?

I've been away for the weekend so may not weigh this week Blush I have done some good walks but definitely not enough toy balance out the foodie extravaganza!

DulciUke · 16/08/2021 13:44

Down a pound from last week, not, I'm afraid through fantastic dieting, but probably because I skipped dinner last night. Oh well, will take what I can get. One more pound to get below 200...

YetAnotherWalk · 16/08/2021 14:58

Yes @Shallwegoforawalk it is, figured I have nothing to lose Blush Grin so far it seems to be curbing the emotional eating and helping me stick to the 8hr window.

Just build on it @DulciUke you can do it!

Walked 3 miles this morning with hanging around in the park freezing for 45 minutes in the middle. For a random experiment, I've had a look at calorie count today (don't normally bother) and OMG a visit to Costa wiped out about 700 cal!

MintyCedric · 16/08/2021 16:47

Well I thoroughly enjoyed my foodie weekend.
It wasn't all healthy, but it wasn't a massive pig out in terms of quantity/portion size either. No idea of the impact as only weighing once a month.

Fresh fruit for breakfast, cold meats, cheese and salad (with some sourdough Blush) for lunch, and have nearly finished the GCSE celebration cake...thank God! Have just roasted a large chicken which we'll have with different salads over the next 2 or 3 days.

Anyone up for a big fat body overhaul?
YetAnotherWalk · 17/08/2021 13:17

Wow that's a lovely cake Minty

It's so cold, I feel like comfort eating everything in the house. Haven't gone mad (so far) but suddenly Greek yogurt and berries are less appealing Hmm

MintyCedric · 17/08/2021 13:34

Thanks @YetAnotherWalk. I love baking but try to make sure I do it when most of it can be given away!

Doing well-ish today...small pain au choc for breakfast as up early; smoothie mid morning and chicken salad for lunch.

Planning a different chicken salad for dinner...rock and roll!

YetAnotherWalk · 19/08/2021 15:38

Salad sound good, felt too wintery here Hmm

Today hasn't been the best day food wise, but 2 days of ridiculously busy days and bad nights - it is what it is. Going for afternoon tea on Saturday, so might weigh Saturday morning instead of Sunday Wink

LondonGrimmer · 19/08/2021 22:45

Sorry I've been AWOL. Was on holiday for a week, mostly drinking and stuffing my face. Am now finding it very hard to cut back again as feel constantly hungry Hmm Will do it little by little.

Well done all you losers! And those of you who haven't but are still trying new things and practicing self-care. Gorgeous cakes Cake

Hope you're not in any pain @iwillwashthegreenwillow

I'm food shopping tomorrow... Friday is usually treat day (that extends to Sat and Sun Hmm) but I'm determined to be good. Have a wedding the following weekend and am dreading squeezing into a too-small dress. Need to lose a stone in a week Grin but will just stick to salads and walking and do my best.

mumsy2015 · 20/08/2021 10:09

I have been very quiet on here as to be honest things haven't gone to plan. Went on holiday camping and thought i wasn't being too bad (didn't have desserts, no ice creams with the kids etc). But came back to a 4lb gain Shock So i threw my toys out of the pram and although i know it isn't the healthiest way to lose weight i've started exante. I go away csmping again in just over a week and will stick to it until then and then do an adapted version when i'm away. I just want the weight gone and then i'll start toning up and eating well after. On a more positive note i've started a new skincare regime and using my led mask that i bought at the start of the year. Hoping to finally clear my adult acne and see some improvement in my skin tone. Very jealous of the gorgeous cakes and well done to everyone for just keeping on trying Smile
