@LondonGrimmer a LimbO is a big rubbery plastic bag with a neoprene top to keep a body part dry after surgery or in a cast. The same effect can broadly be achieved with a bin bag and gaffa tape, but it's such a faff. Anyway, the LimbO was brilliant and I feel a whole new woman after a shower and a proper wash. I may even attempt a bath today.
I have been battling DH over vegetables since we first met. He has some strange ideas, including "bacon is a vegetable" (not really, but he's never found a dish that can't be improved by the addition of bacon) and "it's not a chilli unless there's sweetcorn in it "
but eats a relatively limited selection of cooked veg. As a family we have had a two-vegetables rule since the DC were onto solids but some days I'd like something other than peas (for all except DS1), carrots (not for DH unless stewed, extra for DS3 and never put the bowl down in front of him!), broccoli (extra for DS2), raw crunchy stuff for DD (but never tomatoes).
I am realising that, even with someone else making my meals, a lot of my issue is being unable to think what I want / need to eat when I'm hungry (this is not news, my DM is the same and I can't believe I thought I'd get away without it). That's when I reach for bread and cheese and feel bloated and ill and sorry for myself and end up mainlining biscuits. So I am going to batch-prep breakfasts and lunches when I am up and about again, so I can just pull them out of the fridge. I've found someone on Youtube who seems to approach these things sensibly and I can adapt her receipes / plans to accommodate tedious food sensitivities and hopefully still eat well.
Yesterday I had cold left over pizza for lunch and fish and chips for tea, so I should probably write the day off. However, today I can confirm I've managed oats, yoghurt and cherries for breakfast and will have cheese, apple, tomatoes and cucumber for lunch. May have a slice of granary bread, depending on whether I want to pay for it later, unless we have some oatcakes. Moussaka for tea and I will insist on vegetables of some sort!
Hope the afternoon tea with lots of cake is lovely @YetAnotherWalk. If it's going to be a treat, then really let it be a treat!
@mumsy2015 it seems very unfair that no ice cream should lead to a gain! Hope the exante is going well and it pushes you enough in the right direction to be able to eat healthily after.
