Anyone up for a big fat body overhaul?

Seil · 31/07/2021 17:31

I'm fat, 55 and totally fed up.

I would love to look and feel nice again. I hate wearing clothes that cover my fat, I want to wear clothes that I actually like.

I definitely need to shift a couple of stone and make much more of an effort with my appearance.

Anyone else feel the same? Will be starting tomorrow if you are interested in joining me.

Welcome @HerRoyalRisesAgain we are all just sharing and trying to do what suits us best I think!

Lots of driving today but I resisted the call of the MacDonalds drive through! Was too tired to go out for a walk this evening as planned, need to improve that.

Brunch large 3 egg omelette with mushrooms

Snack piece of cheese

D prawns noodles veggies quick stir fry
Small piece dark chocolate

Got some socialising this weekend so will be aiming to be sensible with the fizzy stuff cos I know the munchies and then the hangover cures are disastrous Grin

30kgtogo · 06/08/2021 00:37

Ok, was doing well until today (yesterday was 1 kg down from Monday).
However, stressful day involving dc hospital visit in another city, and long return drive in stormy rain, with other grumpy child in tow.
Wheels came off when got home and hit the wine/crisps/chocolate in relief.
Starting again tomorrow - ahem!
Welll done all so far 😀

FelicityBeedle · 06/08/2021 01:55

Today wasn’t great, I forgot to eat lunch and got dizzy so scoffed two pieces of bread and butter and a very sweet tea. Had a carby pasta for dinner too
I have lost 5kf though, even if it’s just water weight

Seasidemumma77 · 06/08/2021 03:08

Can I join? Ten years ago I was a size22. I completely overhauled my diet, started weight training, and got down to a well toned size12 over the next 3yrs and maintained it. I felt so happy, attractive and confident. June last year my consultant put me on monthly Zoladex injections (which I'm still on) and my weight has spiraled, now a size18. I'm so unhappy with my appearance, and confidence is almost zero. I'm so embarrassed by my weight I can't even face going to the gym, even though I know logically that exercise will help the weight loss. I'm also scared, it took me 3yrs of hardwork and dedication to get my body to a point where I was happy, what if I do it again and then get fat again?

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 06/08/2021 08:55

3.2lbs down this week
Making hunters chicken for tea tonight

MintyCedric · 06/08/2021 10:21

Welcome @HerRoyalRisesAgain

@Seasidemumma77 my daughter has gotten really into weights since January. She's been doing calorie deficit as she tends to comfort eat and went from a 12-14 to an 18 over lockdown.

She looks amazing now and it's really inspiring. She does a lot of Lilly Sabri workouts on YouTube which are good as they're all different lengths and very clear.

Stayed at my mums last night so going to have brunch of cheese omelette, mushrooms, tomato and spinach when I get home (rather than 2 slices of toast with butter and marmalade which is my default when I'm here!). Jerk pork with pineapple salsa and salad tonight.

My best mate is dogsitting for an old school friend of ours who lives down the road from me next week, so hopefully plenty of walks will be had.

RuthTopp · 08/08/2021 17:32

@Seil
How are you doing ?

Shallwegoforawalk · 08/08/2021 23:33

So two days of socialising meant lots of fizz and party food/snack food and very late nights but I enjoyed it and not going to stress about it. Lazy recovery day today at home.

B omelette
L slice of sourdough with cheese and Parma ham
D chicken and prawn paella with salad

Face mask and foot cream on tonight plus relaxing oil in the room to hopefully get a better night sleep.

Alcohol always gives me a restless night sleep these days, anyone else find that as they age? I used to just crash, now I wake up at odd times and struggle to get back to sleep properly.

IWillWashTheGreenWillow · 09/08/2021 07:26

Yes, @Shallwegoforawalk, I find if I want to sleep I can't drink at all.

The end of last week was an utter disaster regarding food, culminating in a bag of reduced - sugar Percy Pigs for dinner on the train home on Saturday night Blush. Let's not discuss that, shall we?

I am concentrating on eating real food and being nice to myself. I've had a sensible breakfast of oats with greek yoghurt and fresh blackberries from the garden, and a cup of really good coffee. I will try to stay out of the kitchen now til lunchtime.

MintyCedric · 09/08/2021 11:57

@IWillWashTheGreenWillow

Providing we can also not discuss the fact I had Taco Bell for lunch and Pizza Hut for dinner yesterday Blush.

In my defence I did 10 hours of DIY including moving furniture, contortionist moves and lots of up and down ladders for painting and filling the car with crap to take to the tio this morning.

I also managed to stick to my one bottle of wine split over Fri/Sat evening and resist the temptation to open another as a reward for the DIY so I'll take that as a win.

On best behaviour for the next 3 days as have GCSE celebrations for DD on Thursday and then her Godmother coming to stay for the weekend so lots of eating out!

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 09/08/2021 12:07

I've been really good the last few days. I'm saving myself for my birthday tomorrow Grin

IWillWashTheGreenWillow · 09/08/2021 12:17

@MintyCedric our pact of silence is sealed.

Well done on the DIY! We too are expecting exam results (A levels tomorrow and GCSEs on Thursday) but celebration meals must be delayed until Monday as I have to self-isolate from tomorrow til my foot surgery on Friday.

It's nearly lunchtime and apart from an emergency slice of cheese at 11, I'm doing ok.

Lupellegrino · 09/08/2021 12:34

3.8 lbs down this week. My period started on Friday so probably a lot of water weight!

DulciUke · 09/08/2021 15:52

Up 1 pound from last week. At one point during the week I was up 3 pounds, but still...Sigh. Happy for everyone who's been having good results.

RealHousewifeofBarnardCastle · 09/08/2021 17:17

Hello, please can I join you too?

I used to be thin, long ago and now I’m an absolute heifer.

I’ve no idea what I weigh but dh does - I ask him to weigh me and just tell me how many pounds I’ve lost or gained as knowing the actual weight just depresses me. What a wuss hey? I’m sure I have 5 stone or more to lose. Maybe 6? 7? I literally have no idea

I’m in my 50s and my reaction to stress is wine and food. There’s been a lot of stress over the years but now I seem to be in a calm bit so I’m starting again.

I have a personal trainer twice a week and do weights and strength training and I’m on day 8 of no alcohol and Michael Moseley’s 800 calorie a day blood sugar diet. I might drink this Friday as I MISS WINE!

I have stuck to 8-900 cals since last Monday though.

RealHousewifeofBarnardCastle · 09/08/2021 17:21

I am doing some things to look after myself though, I’m on HRT, I regularly have my hair cut and coloured and I’m up to date with my mammogram, smear test and the optician. I’m very happily married and still having plenty of sex so I suppose that’s something. At least dh has never gone off me although I wouldn’t blame him tbh. And I’ve been walking 5,000 steps most days which is an improvement on before I had my trainer.

MintyCedric · 09/08/2021 18:12

@RealHousewifeofBarnardCastle

Sounds like you're doing a great job.

I also self-medicate with food and wine when I'm stressed and there has been a hell of a lot of that over the last couple of years.

Today's good intentions went to hell in a handcart as I had an absolute meltdown...feeling totally overwhelmed with everything I need to sort out a/ before my friend comes on Friday and b/ before I go back to work in September.

Cereal & raspberries for breakfast

Tuna and cheese quesadilla for lunch.

Was supposed to be meeting best mate for Costa but just couldn't get out of the house so she came round bearing hazelnut latte.

Spaghetti bol tonight.

It's not too awful suppose, and at least I can blame hormones as it's PMT time, although whether I'll actually have a period this month is anyone's guess...bloody perimenopause Angry.

RealHousewifeofBarnardCastle · 09/08/2021 18:44

@MintyCedric thanks for the welcome 🙂 stress eating and drinking is so easily done.

IamMummyhearmeROAR · 09/08/2021 21:25

CW - 11stone 5.
GW 10 stone 7
Loss of 2lbs

Happy with that as I've had a meal out with lots of wine ( small portions of food though) Also didn't nurse my mild hangover with carbs like I usually do. Eating really well and doing 12000 at least a day. Feeling good. Sleeping like a baby. Have a blood pressure check on Wednesday so hoping for a good result so I can avoid medication

Shallwegoforawalk · 10/08/2021 00:11

@MintyCedric that doesn't seem like a bad day at all! (Says the carb addict here).

Weighin 13 stone 4, one pound down for first week. I'll take that after the social weekend I had.

Swum today and did a nasty work task I had been putting off so that made me feel better to get it out of the way! I'm a terrible procrastinator but when I get stuff done I always think "it wasn't that bad, why was I so worried!"

YetAnotherWalk · 10/08/2021 07:33

Good morning all

Can I join in please? I'm 40 in 40 days and after getting rid of 2 stone 2 summers ago (when starting thyroid meds) the last lock down saw me regain a large portion of that.

I am a comfort eater with a life long Coke a cola habit Blush

Will join in with the Sunday WI. Last peek at the scales were 77.8kg. Aiming to do 16:8 and mind what goes into my mouth.

IWillWashTheGreenWillow · 10/08/2021 10:59

Have started off badly this morning with Celebratory A Level Result muffins for breakfast, because champagne seemed a bit much and I have to drive in a minute. Will try to recover, but reckon I am carbed-up for the week already!

YetAnotherWalk · 10/08/2021 19:31

Sounds like a good way to celebrate @IWillWashTheGreenWillow Wink

Feel like day one didn't go too badly and stuck to 8 hours and brushed my teeth. Roll on day 2.

Shallwegoforawalk · 10/08/2021 21:47

Had a couple of walks today and felt better, although my knees are protesting a little tonight which makes me more determined to shift some timber.

B omelette with mushrooms and a few bacon lardons
L (on the go) M&S Eat Well Sesame Prawn salad pot. Luckily the yellow sticker on the base covered up the fat/carbs numbers Grinbut I'm guessing it was a little healthier than the McDonalds which used to be my stop.
D butter chicken curry (just curry, no rice or naans). Half of a Eat Natural bar (shared with hubby).

Not enough fruit/veg today but Tuesdays are always so busy for me as I'm out and about. Got a nice punnet of local strawberries ready for breakfast tomorrow (if the teen doesn't spot them in a midnight raid tonight).

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 10/08/2021 22:34

I've had cake!

I made a cheesy pasta bake for tea. Went to grab forks out if the cutlery drawer with my food in my hand, only I went to grab a fork with the hand that had the dish in it. Cheesy pasta all over BlushGrin
