6 week blitz starting tomorrow

BasinHaircut · 27/06/2021 17:49

I’m simply starting this thread for myself as a diary.

I’m hovering around 12st 1-3lbs ish. I’d like to hover at 11stones-something in 6 weeks time, so nothing major.

All I’m going to do is the following:

  1. Stick to under 1600 calories per day
  2. Walk for an hour each day
  3. Resistance train 4 times per week

I should be able to do this easily but I need some accountability (with the food!) so here I am!

I have 4 social occasions during this time that may lead to not sticking to 1600 calories on those days but I am ok with that. I will just do my best on those days, accept what they are, and not let them lead to throwing in the towel altogether.

If anyone would like to join me they are very welcome!

Checking in:
Weight: 87.6kg
Im pleased that it hasn't moved at all for two months.
Im going to move my scales to my bedroom so I can see change (almost) everyday.

Have a good day everyone!

MerylSqueak · 29/06/2021 06:24

Morning all. My weigh in is 77.

I did ok for food yesterday but had two glasses of wine. I'm just so uncertain about my work situation that stress makes it so tempting.

I did my stretches and sit-ups though. Good for stress too!

Good luck to everyone today.

BasinHaircut · 29/06/2021 09:44

Morning team!

I am really going to struggle for time today for my walk unless I really cut some corners with work - but I am determined to get that hour walk in.

Just starting my day off with another protein shake, banana and coffee for 300kcals.

Yesterday I meal prepped 5 lunches at about 400kcals each of pork mince with veggies, brown rice and taco seasoning which I’ll eat for the next couple of days and put the rest in the freezer for later in the week/next week.

Well I successfully resisted the lovely looking toast DP had with his breakfast and went for naked scrambled eggs instead...I was thinking I can't post here if I haven't been good!
Plan is mackerel salad for lunch & I'm not sure what for dinner... night in solo due to footie so hopefully I don't cave when left to my own devices....

troppibambini6 · 29/06/2021 17:42

Today's been good.
L-watermelon
Two sugar free biscuits
Two alpen lights
D-bacon, poached eggs mushrooms and beans

troppibambini6 · 29/06/2021 17:43

Only managed 10,000 steps so far so might head out for a walk after the football.

BasinHaircut · 29/06/2021 18:17

Another good day today.

Got my walk in - the full hour which I was really pleased about.

Well done everyone!
I went over my calories by 250 today but i feel ok about it as it was a lot of fruits.
Not done enough for walking so i will go now for a walk around the block. I might not reach my goal, but it is better than to stay seated on the sofa!

Bobbots · 29/06/2021 19:57

Well done everyone, I haven’t read all the posts nor paid much attention to what I’ve actually eaten today. Is anyone else trying to do this with a baby who constantly screams, won’t be put down and means you can only eat food that can be prepared and consumed with one hand? Even in the sling she has to sick my finger so she doesn’t scream. Dummies get spat out and I get screamed at some more for having the audacity to offer one 😭

DatingDickheads · 29/06/2021 20:28

Hello everyone

I’ve kept within my calories but again done no exercise or reached my steps. No booze though so that’s good!

Does everyone have fitbits or the likes to record steps?

maddenlightfoot · 29/06/2021 20:31

Can today not count for football related reasons? (Watching, not playing 🍕 🍻 😅)

olliepollie · 29/06/2021 20:33

A good day today. I started trying to make excuses early but nipped that in the bud. Cycled my 12km, Pilates this evening, stuck to fast 800 plan. Probably not enough water, will try and have more tomorrow.

troppibambini6 · 29/06/2021 20:41

@DatingDickheads yes I have a Fitbit but mine is just a basic tracker, think it was about £70 it's tracks my heart rate, steps, sleep etc so does the job but quite a basic one I think.
@maddenlightfoot absolutely! with a result like that completely justified Grin

DatingDickheads · 29/06/2021 20:47

@troppibambini6 thanks, I think I need to invest in one to give me a kick to get my steps in!

ManxRhyme · 29/06/2021 21:09

Checking in.

Managed 30 mins of a HIIT session this morning and kept to an 18 HR fast. Noodle stir fry for lunch which wasn't ideal and pasta for dinner which again is so far from low carb it's laughable but time was at a premium today and I didn't have to do the cooking.

At least it was all home made and unprocessed. Fruit and nuts for snacks. Managed to stay off refined sugar entirely today which is unusual for me.

Italyanyday · 29/06/2021 21:12

Loads of fruit, a small veggie samosa with salad bits, 2 weetabix, water and risotto. Probably not ideal but better than normal. No beer tonight despite the football. 60 min fast walk. Need to weigh myself tomorrow.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 29/06/2021 21:52

@DatingDickheads I have a fitness tracker too - I've had a basic one from Amazon for about £30 which was fine, did the job, and also Fitbits which I like because some of my friends have one too. Bought mine secondhand as my first two (bought new) all broke, secondhand has been fine!

DTS1 has been off school sick today (not Covid!) which put paid to my running ambitions Sad I've stuck within my WW points but feel like I've mostly eaten rubbish! @Bobbots DTS1 was a very fussy baby too (turned out to be CMPA), between him and DTS2 constantly competing for attention it's a wonder I ate anything apart from cake for the first two years of their lives...

Jammymare · 29/06/2021 22:16

Evening all,

Today was not brilliant, just feeling hungry and blah all day. But got my 10,000 steps and calories ended at 1,622 so not the massive blow out binge I would have usually succumbed to.
I have a basic Fitbit for recording steps. I used to use my phone but kept forgetting to take it everywhere with me

hellointhere · 29/06/2021 22:24

I'm in! I have been doing c25k and it's helped connect me to my body. Next step is eating smaller portions. I'm 135 and I want to lose 5, then see how I feel.

BasinHaircut · 29/06/2021 22:27

I have an old Garmin watch but I haven’t worn it for ages. I have a few circuits that I walk and I know that i am getting in about 8k steps on my hour walk, plus all of the day to day running around takes me over 10k per day easily.

I’ve usually done 2.5k steps by the time I get back from the morning school run.

If I know I won’t get out for that solid block of walking I’ll put it on though just to make sure I’m staying active throughout the day.

@Bobbots I also had a fussy baby, also turned out to be CMPA as well as reflux, so I feel your pain. I think I lived on cereal and toast through the day during the first 6 months of DS’s life.

InterstellarDrifter · 29/06/2021 22:33

Oh can I join please?

NuclearSummer · 30/06/2021 07:11

Well Monday was a write off because I had family visiting but Tuesday was a bit better.
Lots of protein, really watched my portion size, fruit snacks, cycled to work and back so about 15miles.
Really need some alcohol free nights as they trigger awful sleep and cravings!

I’m not going to weigh until Monday but I forgot to write my initial weight before... 11.9 and 5ft 4.
