6 week blitz starting tomorrow

BasinHaircut · 27/06/2021 17:49

I’m simply starting this thread for myself as a diary.

I’m hovering around 12st 1-3lbs ish. I’d like to hover at 11stones-something in 6 weeks time, so nothing major.

All I’m going to do is the following:

  1. Stick to under 1600 calories per day
  2. Walk for an hour each day
  3. Resistance train 4 times per week

I should be able to do this easily but I need some accountability (with the food!) so here I am!

I have 4 social occasions during this time that may lead to not sticking to 1600 calories on those days but I am ok with that. I will just do my best on those days, accept what they are, and not let them lead to throwing in the towel altogether.

If anyone would like to join me they are very welcome!

Good day here too.
Exercise done ✅
16h fasting done ✅
Low carb/low cal done ✅
I thought the weekend might result in a big gain but barely anything on which is great. 2kg off last week so hopefully another loss this week. I'd like to finish July 5kg down from where I am now.

Sounds like everyone is doing really well!

BasinHaircut · 05/07/2021 20:15

Well done!

Oh yes I also did 14k steps today.

Jammymare · 05/07/2021 21:28

Phew! I am pooped. Had a day off work today, but restful it was not, 28,000 steps (including a 5k run, first time I have run so far in months).

Special K for breakfast ✅
Sausage roll for lunch ❌
Chicken and peas pesto past for tea (and I managed to limit myself to two slices of garlic bread instead of half a baguette!) ✅
Finishing on 1,672 calories.

NuclearSummer · 06/07/2021 05:43

Well done on the losses! I stayed the same but I can’t be surprised as I had a lot to eat on Sunday. I feel loads better for all the improved veg/protein so will carry on and see how the next 7 days go. It’s cycle to work day today and tomorrow so that’s almost four hours of exercise!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 06/07/2021 11:27

@Jammymare I'm in awe of your 28K steps Shock

I did a 25 minute run yesterday - w7r1 - probably about 4K. Got up to 19K steps in total. I can only aspire to 28K!

Hope your cycling goes well @NuclearSummer. I'm thinking of investing in a bike having not cycled for many years...!

Jammymare · 06/07/2021 11:33

I’m still knackered today @ClaraTheImpossibleGirl it’s usually an effort to get to 10k, I don’t think I sat down once!

olliepollie · 06/07/2021 18:12

Wow @Jammymare 28k! I might've done about 10% of that... Blush

Not so good a day today - in the office so no time to cycle but I think I will go to Pilates this evening. Due on and feeling exhausted and famished, so ate most of a packet of biscuits and some cheese when I got in Hmm

Hope everyone has had a good day, wishing myself a better one tomorrow. My cycling has really become such an important part of my day, I'm looking forward to doing it in the morning.

BasinHaircut · 06/07/2021 19:42

Not a great day today.

Went over by 100kcals today and didn’t get a walk in. I did get a weight training session done at lunchtime though.

Breakfast - weetabix and semi skimmed milk, coffee 270kcals
Snack - protein shake 200kcals
Lunch - hummus, veggie sticks, pitta and a small lump of cheese 430kcals
Dinner - hoisin chicken, broccoli, red onion, sticky rice 800kcals.

Just realised I also haven’t had any fruit.

Oh well, will do better tomorrow!

Sounds like a good day to me @BasinHaircut you moved your body and ate healthily, well done you!

I’ve only made it to 8,800 steps today, might force myself out for a quick walk before bed, but I will probably just vegetate on the sofa now, OH left for work at 4:30am this morning so I’m feeling a bit bleary eyed.
Just brushed my teeth to stop myself snaking anymore as mindlessly had two mini pork pies before realising they were 200 calories each.

Finishing today on 1,551 calories

ManxRhyme · 06/07/2021 22:33

Well done all!

Did 30 mins of core workout this morning. I have NO core strength, that much was obvious. Tuna salad for lunch then rice and pork belly for dinner. Also had a little jam tart 🤦🏻‍♀️

Haven't been weighing. Will step on the scales at the weekend.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 07/07/2021 10:39

Sounds like a pretty good day to me too @BasinHaircut!

@Jammymare DP leaves for work at 6am, which is just about doable for me, he always wakes me up but then I doze for a bit. He just seems to be incapable of doing anything quietly, him 'creeping around the house' sounds like someone's let a rhino loose Hmm

I've had an awful couple of days and am struggling to get back on track. Did w7r2 today and went the usual beetroot colour which hopefully will help!

BasinHaircut · 07/07/2021 10:55

Thanks @Jammymare and @ClaraTheImpossibleGirl I guess it’s not that bad half of my problem is that I hold myself to too high a standard and so anything less seems not great.

I’m ok having a planned day/meal ‘off’ but going over calories or not hitting planned activity levels feels like failure!

Not letting it affect me today though, I have my food planned out and I am doing the school run on foot this afternoon which is an hour round trip so will get my steps in.

Coming in bang on calories today and got my hour’s walk in too.

Breakfast - protein shake, banana, coffee 300kcals
Lunch - chicken, rice, broccoli and red onions 550kcals
Snack - strawberries 20 kcals
Dinner - fish, potatoes, peas, sweetcorn 500kcals
Snack - granola and milk 230kcals

BOOM!

Hi everyone
Fell off the wagon with an unmerciful bang... 4 days free-range eating and drinking

Have clambered back on having thrown back on 5lbs. How is this even possible?
Back on it today

olliepollie · 07/07/2021 21:14

Sending solidarity @SunscreenCentral - a good chunk of that will be bloat/water, it'll come off rapidly. Well done for coming back to it.

Not a good day today for me at all. Did my cycling, so that's good. Also ate all the chocolate, so not good.

Feel like I've lost my motivation a bit. I'm out for dinner on Friday and thinking what's the point in fasting and low cal/carb-ing tomorrow and Friday lunch if so. I know that's defeatist. Confused

Jammymare · 07/07/2021 22:19

Well done @BasinHaircut!

I don’t know how, but I have come in under my calories,

Scrambled eggs for breakfast, tuna salad for lunch and paella for dinner,I only snack was some watermelon 1,356 calories all in.

Jammymare · 07/07/2021 22:20

Oh and 17,000 steps, back in the game!

Jammymare · 07/07/2021 22:20

@SunscreenCentral hopefully it’s mostly water weight from salty / processed food?

SunscreenCentral · 07/07/2021 23:19

Hope you're right @Jammymare I'll have be a paragon of virtue for the next while as in a moment of mad I ordered a dress a size down for the hols.
@olliepollie stay with us! If you shave a bit off your calories tomorrow and Friday daytime you'll make calorie room for your nice dinner on Friday night :)

Thanks @SunscreenCentral, still here! Just done 13km on my bike and have packed a calorie-controlled lunch for the office.

Hope everyone has a good day!

BasinHaircut · 08/07/2021 07:56

@SunscreenCentral something I read the other day (can’t remember what) in a nutshell said that realistically the most fat you will lay down per day is most likely something like 0.14lbs per day. That is simplifying things greatly, obviously, but I reckon you have gained no more than half a pound of fat and the rest will be water, stored glucose energy, food, poo etc. Just get back on it and it will adjust itself.

That sounds like a good day @Jammymare

Had a bumpy few days! No cooking facilities one day, no cycling because of dreadful weather, nasty headache with a bonus side effect of not eating! But I have really tried to eat well and have plenty of veg and not have huge portions.

One thing I’m trying to tackle is my screw it mentality. Allowing one thing (a bad day, a biscuit, tiredness) to mean permission to throw all good habits down the drain and eat at will!

troppibambini6 · 08/07/2021 18:28

A few bumpy days here too. I'm just off out for food and wine so today's not much better.
Not gained any weight which is a blessing and I'm still averaging 15-20,000 steps a day.
