I was determined that this year would be the year and so far all I've done is gain weight.

After crying this morning because none of my clothes fit, tomorrow I am starting again. I'm planning to calorie count - anyone want to join to support each other through, on any WOE?

I love Nutracheck, I find it so easy to use.

I weigh every day and seem to have periods where I hover around the same then drop in a chunk. So I have dropped from 56.1kg to 55.7kg, but probably won’t drop again for a while.

Another good day so far, with eating healthily and exercising. Does anyone else struggle with not wanting to waste food on the one hand and trying to lose weight on the other?

mintylovely · 14/06/2021 20:34

Can I join: 10st 11, 5' 7'' and size 12, my comfy clothes are tight and I feel uncomfortably bloated. I will go with my fitness pal 1200 cals.

debbrianna · 14/06/2021 20:38

Today I managed less than 1200 calories..fingers crossed I keep this up.

debbrianna · 14/06/2021 20:38

I am on protein shake too

nodtik · 14/06/2021 20:49

Day one done!!

Weighed 10st 12.6lb this morning.

Did a 30 min brisk walk on treadmill

Eaten 1000 calories

Can I keep this up??

LaPufalina · 14/06/2021 21:12

Oh I've found you on my first day of taking this seriously Smile
I was 10st 8 this morning, started the year at 9st 7 ish with all my size 10s fitting, then lost my dad, stopped running as my lungs suddenly didn't seem to work very well and comfort ate too Sad he would be very cross that I'd gone up a dress size on his behalf!
I signed up for noom this morning but not really clicking. Feels a bit wanky and not intuitive. I like the fitness chef on Instagram so might do some research there...
I would like to get back down to 9.7, ideally 9 or just below if possible. Last time I lost a tonne of weight (2018/19 post baby) was through breastfeeding and that's not happening again.

Mumski45 · 15/06/2021 07:43

Well done to everyone keeping at or under 1200c. In my experience this works every time and especially if you manage to be active as well. I had another good day yesterday coming in at 1060c although only managed a short walk after tea.

Weighed in at 9 st 6lb this morning which is 5lb down from when I started 2 weeks ago. DH noticed I had lost a few lb which is all good signs. Still need to lose about half a stone to feel comfortable in my clothes.

Hoping to get out on my bike this afternoon for a shortish ride.

Trayble · 15/06/2021 09:29

I managed 1200 calories yesterday and Fitbit said I'd burned 2300 not sure how accurate it is though.

I also desperately need to start toning up. My shins are toned from lots of walking but the rest of me is very wobbly.

CherryButton · 15/06/2021 12:22

Stuck to my healthy eating yesterday and also drank 4L of water - it was so hot!!

Not doing as well today. Did a very half arsed workout - only burnt about 100 calories 😅 I was so tired this morning. My youngest has been up all night with a fever last couple of nights (had her PCR tested, she's negative 🎉). Had a nice healthy breakfast of scrambled spiced tofu but then caved at my 10am cuppa with a chocolate binge ☹️

Drawing a line for the remainder of the day.
2L of water, Veg & Hummus for lunch, homemade chicken Tacos for dinner. No other snacks to counteract the binge!!

Well Done everyone for sticking to 1200 calories - I'm not sure i could do that, but maybe come weigh day I might be more likely to give it a try!

Insert1x20p · 15/06/2021 23:31

Weighed today at 71kg which surprised me as I felt quite slim and my post-kids tummy wedge has deflated a bit, so I think I have to remember than scales aren't everything, given I'm doing a lot of heavy lifting at the moment.

Main problem re activity is it is so hot and humid (Asia) that you cannot really comfortably exercise outside. In particular it's just impossible to get incremental exercise, like walking to work or the shops/ to meet a friend as you get too sweaty, especially as masks are mandatory (properly mandatory), even outside. I dread to think what my step count is- lol.

debbrianna · 15/06/2021 23:44

I am wondering whether the hot weather is helping. I haven't has biscuits fir a few days.

Insert1x20p · 16/06/2021 02:44

It definitely helps in countries without aircon Grin. Sadly I have the double whammy of too hot outside and lovely and cool inside! Bit enough excuses from me - DD has a netball thing this afternoon so I'm going to go for a run while she's at that.

Montysauras · 16/06/2021 06:27

Morning all!

Weigh in day for me today, I’ve lost 3lbs so I will take that. Kind of frustrating that I’m only back to where I was a month or so ago but going to persevere. I feel so determined this time so let’s hope I can stick to it.

Good luck for anyone else weighing this week x

whereiscaroline · 16/06/2021 06:32

Well done @Montysauras that's really good progress. Although know what you mean about losing when you've gained a bit previously, it's a frustrating process.

Honestly, I've been terrible. I'm moving house next week, and got some other personal bits going on too and I'm so stressed with it all it's just like I don't have the mental headspace to use my willpower.

Today is a new day and I'm just going to strive for a bit better rather than perfection.

Hiya, I'm day 12 of controlling my food intake (eating in an 8 hour window and trying to cut down on obvious wheat). Not weighed myself yet but largish size 12 (only have a tiny amount of clothes that fit i.e. 3x trousers and a few top) rest are pre-pregnancy 8-10 that I want to fit into again. Pregnancy/Lockdown/WFH has really messed with my weight.

Cerealtoast2 · 16/06/2021 07:35

Could I join please? Size 12 just! Usually 8/10. Nothing fits!

Sideofnoreturn · 16/06/2021 08:05

Another one joining! I’m 5’7 and 68kg which is a 12, 7 months post partum. Want to get back to my pre pregnancy weight of 60kg which is an 8/small 10 for me. I find it really hard to lose weight while breastfeeding and don’t want to cut calories too much so I’m doing low carb and really upping my fat and protein and exercising. This is about day 5 for me - will weigh in next Monday - but I already feel like I’m a bit less bloated.

Mumski45 · 16/06/2021 17:18

Well I didn't manage to a bike ride yesterday as a friend invited me for a walk. We walked for about an hour but it wasn't very brisk so I didn't eat any extra calories.
Managed to get out this afternoon though so that's 816 c burnt and around an extra 400 available to eat. Going to treat myself to a baked Camembert for tea with plain toast rather than garlic bread.

It's not always what you eat much how much in my experience so a little bit of a treat is allowed.

Hope everyone is managing to stick to your targets now we are back into mid week.

Montysauras · 16/06/2021 20:41

Thank you @whereiscaroline - being in the right mindset is everything and a house move is never easy. Just be kind to yourself and try to make better food choices where you can Flowers

Well done to all you new mummy’s - my LO is 2 and still carry some ‘baby weight’. I could not stop eating when I was feeding so hats off to all of you 👍🏼

@Mumski45 yum, you inspired me to have Brie for dinner after seeing your post earlier - hope you enjoyed it!

debbrianna · 16/06/2021 21:25

I managed to weigh 69.2kg..this is the first time in months.going below 70kg

I don't feel as hungry as before after cutting off another of sugar.

Wowwellokthen · 16/06/2021 21:36

Please can I join! 64kg currently and want to be 57/58kg. I'm 45 and I have no willpower due to work, stress and laziness.

In case anyone fancies some challenges to get us moving?

quiteathome · 17/06/2021 07:33

Sneaking in. Was a happy middle sized 12, now a top end size 12. I want to get to a size 10ish.

Got an essay to finish over the next couple of days. Once that is over I have a few months to get really fit.

Mumski45 · 17/06/2021 16:04

@debbrianna congratulations on hitting a milestone.

If you are managing not to feel hungry you are part way there.

My problem isn't really about hunger I just have a sweet tooth so have a tendency to eat even when not hungry.

Has anyone weighed this week?

We have had some bad news today. DS2 had a very faint +ve lft this morning and neither him nor his brother can go to school. If it's confirmed then that will be 10 days of isolation for us all so probably no more outdoor bike rides or walks for a while. Need to get the indoor bike going again which is hard when the weather is nice.

Also need to stay off the comfort food.

CherryButton · 17/06/2021 16:25

Really want to do this but keep getting in the right mind frame and then losing it V quickly 😣
Weigh Day tomorrow and dreading it as I doubt I have made any progress.
I just want to eat ALL THE TIME 🤣

greedymum · 17/06/2021 18:44

I have been so good this week, have stuck to my calorie plan and walked for hours and hours every day, the scales however don't think I have made any effort at all! I'm sure the results are slower as you get older..

@Mumski45 oh no! We have been lucky and haven't had to isolate so far, must be a blow when you have good intentions.
