I've reached peak fatness and need to sort myself out

Starting from today I am going to attempt to sort out my fatness.

I have had enough of not fitting into my clothes and feeling embarrassed about how I look. I find it exhausting being overweight.

Ideally I need to lose a good two stone but would be really happy to start with one stone.

Anyone like to join me?

Morning and welcome to the new joiners.

Tomorrow I have to attend a family birthday, it's a garden party.

Last night I cried as there is nothing in my wardrobe that fits me. I have nothing nice to wear, I am even more shocked at how fat my feet look in my nice sandals.

Im just going to have to accessorise the hell out of a pair of jeans and Breton top.

Hope party goes well Smile.

Flowers @Tryx

Right I'm about to drag myself out of bed and weigh in 😬

Slept really badly last night so hoping I can make good food choices today even with tiredness kicking my arse!

Back to school today so DS and I will either walk or cycle - it's not far but it does feel good to kick the day off with a little burst of activity.

Breakfast is going to be some Skyr yog with low sugar granola and berries. Lunch chicken salad wrap and dinner is pasta bake so just need to watch my portion size there. Also going to tip the left over weekend wine down the sink so I'm not tempted come 6:30!!

Hope everyone has good day!!

scaredsadandstuck · 07/06/2021 07:26

Ok - 77.1kg which is still 3kg (6.6lbs) less than January, but 2.5kg (6lbs) more than where I was at the start of March 😐 Would like to get to 75kg by end of June and no longer in the obese category by end of July. My ultimate target is around 57-60kgs.

jannyapple · 07/06/2021 07:53

Well I've weighed and could cry .. since I've decided to join you all I seem to have put on 4 lbs
I'm absolutely sick of this yo yo trend of being a fat git or a really fat git
Have ordered that book I saw mentioned by Dr Chaterrjee which is being delivered tomorrow so will see if I can retrain the brain
Good luck all of you Monday weighers and have a great day all !

BookShark · 07/06/2021 07:59

Just weighed myself for a starting weight, and I am officially at peak fatness - 11st 8 which is the heaviest I've ever been.

But all the wine and treats have gone from the house, and I went shopping yesterday and bought lots of veg for lunches, to replace the usual sandwiches. Off for a day out with DS today which usually means burgers etc., but we'll go via M&S instead to pick up something healthy for lunch, and at least I'll be walking around a lot so will get a bit of exercise.

Tryx · 07/06/2021 08:09

@jannyapple oh god that is sole destroying. Just wondering if you keep your scales in the same place, I read that moving them doesn't give such an accurate result and ideally they shouldn't be moved at all.

Stick with it, the alternative is to just get fatter. 💐

I need to lose four stones. It’s making me miserable. I just can’t motivate myself to get started.

Wren77 · 07/06/2021 09:10

Hi there! I have lost almost 2 stone reeeeaaallly slowly (since October) just by working on changing my habits. So instead of a lunch (at work) of sandwich/ crisps/ chocolate I am now in the habit of getting an omelette or salad and a yoghurt. I have swapped pasta for courgettey and stopped my evening binge on chocolate - but I do have some biscuits and a cup of tea!! I do cut myself some slack at the weekend but maybe only one meal where I don't swap stuff for healthy alternatives rather than every meal and I have a big treat (wine + big bar of dairymilk!!) at some point. I just wanted something sustainable and this seems to work for me, although I have plateaued a bit now so might need to up my game a bit (cut out the evening biccies
!!)

Wren77 · 07/06/2021 09:14

And I was officially in the overweight category and now I am officially (just!!) in the healthy weight range. Trying to manage my expectations too - I would love to be my 20s weight but that is a long way off. I will just concentrate on trying to be healthier day by day and see where it gets me!

scaredsadandstuck · 07/06/2021 10:01

@Wren77 - well done that's great, I'm sure you are much more likely to keep it off with a slow and steady approach.

@BreakingtheIce - I know how you feel. Can you break it down into smaller goals though. 4 stone feels like a lot to face in one go, but 5lbs by the end of the month etc is easier to get motivated about. I try to focus on how I'll feel when my scales say I've reached that mini goal. I know I'll be motivated to keep going.

TheBobJog · 07/06/2021 10:17

Morning all

So I've had a fresh ginger and turmeric tea Halo and am about to switch to sparkling water. Going to do a 20 min kettlebell sesh shortly, and get a run in this evening.

No idea what food I'm having yet though

Mabella173 · 07/06/2021 10:20

Can I join in too please! I’m a shortie (5’2) and 70kg/11stone so overweight and it really shows on my thunder thighs - trying to conceive for last year so want to get to a healthy BMI - I start off really good and then willpower fades and have no control and instead go into a treat yourself mentality - it’s an all or nothing approach. Going to try 16/8 with hearty brunch and lighter dinner

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 07/06/2021 10:26

I’m in, I’ve got a stone to drop too. My clothes either don’t fit, or the clothes that were on the roomy side generous are now tight. Time to reign it in. My plan is simple,

Smaller portions
More exercise - I already walk the dog 10k steps a day but that’s fairly gentle so need to add cardio in
No snacks

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 07/06/2021 10:29

I’m an apple shape, so despite being reasonably tall, it all goes to my stomach and I don’t have to gain much for it to show very quickly Angry

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 07/06/2021 10:37

30mins of HIIT complete.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 07/06/2021 10:38

And I've yet to attach the childrens snack cupboard

poopyface · 07/06/2021 10:39

Day 1 - 30 minute jog done and about to do a HIIT before having a brunch (with carb) - 9k steps already done with school runs so feeling positive. Wine removed from fridge and hidden in cupboard.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 07/06/2021 10:54

Well done @poopyface & @Aroundtheworldin80moves, great starts.

Hello!
I hope this is a good morning/start of the week for you all.
I have 1.5 stone to lose , have lost 1 stone over the past 6 weeks.
I'm doing Fast 800/ 16:8/low carb.
I've had a few lapses.
What I find really helpful to fill in the hungry gaps is ( this is going to all sound hideously unhealthy, but marginally less unhealthy than carrying around 2.5 extra stone in weight).
Beef Oxo drinks ( v salty but v satisfying) 10 calories per cup. Crumble one cube into a mug and fill with water. A good alternative to coffee and tea.
Strong black coffee ( I use instant)
Red Bull, low cal ( I know, I know).
But if counting calories, these drinks have saved me many times over the last few weeks.
Also, I discovered that the Covent Garden Soup Co. Tomato and Basil tastes streaks ahead of other brands of carton soup, 112 calories per half carton and moderately low carb too.
Wishing you all the heartiest luck in shifting these pounds for summer and for fitting back into our pretty summer clothes.
Please share any other tips.

Happyface120 · 07/06/2021 11:23

I've done OK on my first fasting window so far, am planning 16:8 with an eating window between 12 and 8. Peppermint tea this morning, then a salad and jacket potato for lunch. Not sure on dinner yet. Am out on bike for a couple of hours this evening as well.

TattyDevine · 07/06/2021 12:12

Daily check in! I've been to the gym! I logged my weight on the Boditrax but I'm not going to look at it until I'm more in the swing of things! 🕺 And I did my Bodypump class. That will hurt tomorrow! But I'm back baby yeahhhhh 😎

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 07/06/2021 12:17

Morning. 30 minute s-l-o-w jog this morning in the park. Will take DC for a walk later (inset day) to keep us busy. Salad on the way for lunch, with sauteed garlic mushrooms.
