cricketmum84 · 31/05/2021 20:19

Hi all! I'm back with a bang! Thank you so much for the other lovely thread ladies who have taken care of this monthly thread while I have been ill. I'm starting to get a bit better now, my diabetes seems to be under control and I'm getting a little feeling back in my legs although I am still immobile and in chronic pain which makes exercise hard.

Anyway back to the main point! This is our ongoing thread for anyone who would like to try to lose 7lbs per month! There is a lovely mix of people on here all following different plans and regimes. All are welcome whether newbies, old timers, lurkers whatever! All we ask for is the supportive positive experience that everyone has had so far.

Previous thread is here May lose 7lb / 3kg per month thread http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4233945-May-lose-7lb-3kg-per-month-thread

My stats are:
SW 25st 2lbs
CW 13st 12lbs
Loss so far: 11st 4lbs
Loss for May: 10lbs
Target for end of June: 13st 5lbs

Good luck everyone and here's to an amazing sunny June!

Hi guys - I’d love to try and lose 7lbs in June so joining if that’s ok! Will weigh in tomorrow morning and post stats.

@cricketmum84 your loss is incredible - well done!

GetTheStartyParted · 31/05/2021 21:41

Hi there! Thanks for the June thread @cricketmum84 and really pleased you're feeling better, hope your recovery keeps going well. Proud of you Flowers

Start weight 15st5
Current weight 10st10
May's loss 2lb Grin
Target weight, 9st10 for healthy BMI but maybe 9st overall.

Target for June, drink more water and increase healthy food rather than just sticking to calories but eating junk. I'm still happy if I'm only losing 2lb a month, it all adds up but I would be very happy if it was more.

ImFree2doasiwant · 31/05/2021 23:16

Hello, I enjoyed joining in a bit on the May thread, was thrilled to get to my 7lb target by 20th May, then really slacked off.

SW 14st 6
CW 13st 3
TW 11st 6
June target 12st 10.

Until a couple of months ago, I'd been struggling to get under 14st, abd was up and down between 14st 2 and 14st 6. I'm really pleased with my progress so far, and want to focus on getting under 13st this month.

I have 2 children, 4 and 6 and have struggled with my weight since having them. I always lost pregnancy weight very quickly but then packed it on soon after. Its time it was gone!

GrandPrismatic · 01/06/2021 05:41

Thanks @cricketmum84 for the new thread. Glad you are feeling better! After falling off the rails in the last week of May with a lovely indulgent week of holiday, I’m getting back on track and have big hopes for June!

SW 83kg
CW 74.05kg
GW 70kg
Target for June 71.5kg

plixy · 01/06/2021 06:48

Here for my second month. I have a holiday end of June and would love to get over 1st total loss by then.

Sw 12st 10
Cw 12st 1
Tw 10st

Morning all and Happy first day of summer! After whinging about the weather for pretty much the whole of May I'm now too hot and grumpy!

I'm planning a chicken tikka salad for lunch, then it's pork chops and roasted veggies with a mustard cream sauce for dinner. Not sure what veggies will be as I'm due a surprise fruit and veg box delivered today.

My diet is v low carb due to my diabetes and I've found this way of eating is really helping me shift this last stubborn couple of stones I need rid off.

Target weight is 11st and I feel like it's within touching distance now! Just a few more months!!

Have a lovely sunny day!

Just starting out so I'd like to join
CW 96kgs
GW 65kgs

Emelene · 01/06/2021 08:34

I’d like to join too if that’s okay! I’m 6.5 months post partum with second baby and basically started losing weight a few months ago (slimming world diet, can’t really afford the group). But have been using excuses not to eat well for the last few weeks and I’ve been gaining half pound here and there and not making progress. I’m so close to a healthy BMI (10st 6) I just need some encouragement and discipline! Smile

SW- 11st 5 1/2
CW- 10st 6 1/4
GW - 9 st 7

Ardagusdubh · 01/06/2021 10:14

I dropped off the thread in January due to bad health. I’m feeling much better now and hoping to join in again. Unfortunately some of the weight has crept on again and I really want to do something about it!
SW: 14 stone 3 lb
CW: 12 stone 9 lbs
I got down to 11 stone 13.5 lbs in January and would love to be back there but target for June is 7 lb loss and overall target is 11 stone 7 lb.

I will log on mfp, drink more water, and try to get back to more consistent exercise. Good luck for June everyone and congratulations on all the amazing progress Smile

HolaVida · 01/06/2021 11:18

SW 13st 6.5
CW 12st 5.5
TW 11st 3-7
Total lost for May: 2lbs
Target for June: 7lbs

Hey all - thanks for the new thread @cricketmum84, and thanks for overseeing May @GetTheStartyParted!

Bit of an up and down last few days for me emotionally (and consequently food-wise), back on it today.

Target for June is to lose 7lbs. Approach to that is to cut out snacking between meals, drink more water, keep moving and, if possible, have two days a week where I aim to be significantly lower calorie than the others (hoping for that today - we'll see).

I'm going to follow what my body is telling me it needs. I want to re-learn how to tolerate hunger, but also be sensitive to nourishing my body if it's telling me to (eg some days I'll not have breakfast, other days I will).

My downfall has generally been weekends, so could probably do with thinking through those - I need a new approach!!

Foresttheout · 01/06/2021 14:59

Hello all
Checking in for June at 71.7kg not starting the day particularly well with a trip to the local indian this evening Blush hoping to get back to 16/18 now i shouldn't be waking up with a headache every morning. And upping the exercise.

Method · 01/06/2021 16:59

ImFree2doasiwant · 01/06/2021 23:21

Shocking day today. Need to kick my arse back into gear tomorrow

cricketmum84 · 02/06/2021 21:24

Hey all!

Happy hump day. Can't believe it's Thursday tomorrow already.

I got sucked into a McDonald's delivery today by the teens. I only had three chicken strips and a Coke Zero though so not too bad. I swear that Coke Zero with ice was the nicest thing I've tasted in so long. Well deserved in this heat!

I've been playing around with BMI charts today. Can't believe how close I am to plain old overweight! I've attached screenshots of where I started and where I am now. Feeling pretty proud right now!

That is amazing @cricketmum84 well done! I must admit I'm very jealous of your McDonald's its been a long 2 years since i saw one and i would love a double cheese burger Blush
Started the day with an early morning yoga class, i was expecting gentle but it was intense. Has put my head in the right mindframe for the day though

GrandPrismatic · 03/06/2021 05:32

@cricketmum84 so close!!! It’s so exciting to be so close! I’m using an app that has a whole load of different measures that shows you where you are in various ranges like bmi, % body fat, muscle mass, metabolic age etc...it’s totally psychological but I feel great when I come down through a milestone in any of those categories. I dropped a year in metabolic age this morning and was delighted with that (I’m still metabolically older than my actual age...but it’s going in the right direction!). My next big target is % body fat - I’m 32.4%, only 0.4% off ‘acceptable’!
I find having multiple targets gives more cause for celebration and is quite motivating for me.

cricketmum84 · 03/06/2021 09:03

@GrandPrismatic ooh what's your app called?? I would totally love that too :)

GetTheStartyParted · 03/06/2021 10:45

Amazing @cricketmum84 what an achievement, I'm so excited for you to become overweight Smile you've worked so hard to get there!

My BMI has gone from 39.9 to 27.5. I love the sound of the app too @GrandPrismatic

Anything to help stay on track and motivated is welcomed here.

Acidjazz · 03/06/2021 11:11

Can I join please?

SW- 142.6lb
TW- 130lb

I'm not sure if 1lb a week is achievable when i'm fairly close to target- but every little helps. I've never joined one of these threads before.

Also interested in the ap @GrandPrismatic

I've ordered a bluetooth measuring tape - should come tomorrow as i'm hoping to shirnk my waist whislt losing weight- i've been trying to a JM DVD every workday morning, and 20 kettlebell squats before bed.

GrandPrismatic · 03/06/2021 11:28

@cricketmum84 @GetTheStartyParted @Acidjazz (welcome!) the app is called FITINDEX and I have scales (which I think were about £30) which is works with...here’s some pics with the things it measures. The first photo is all the things it measures, the. The second photo is where you can go into each category in detail ;so in this case %body fat). It also shows you graphs and you can see your progress which is also quite motivational!

Oh I cut the picture short but it also shows metabolic age which I like!

cricketmum84 · 03/06/2021 18:24

Was feeling all excited this morning getting into size 12-14 skinnies. Then one of the teenagers took a photo of me and all I can see is massive saggy excess skin belly.

Seriously apart from surgery what can I do??? It's making me feel really down.

I see a nice waist and a great silhouette! Think about how far you have come and be proud. I think you look great.
GetTheStartyParted · 03/06/2021 21:03

Thanks @GrandPrismatic I'll take a look

@cricketmum84 you really do look great but I understand as I do the same. My only suggestion is to try different styles of clothes until you find something that you feel nicer in. Exercise is helping my body to change, but I know that's challenging for you at the moment. Also, try to be kind to yourself. If that was a photo of your friend, you wouldn't notice any 'bad' bits.

cricketmum84 · 03/06/2021 21:07

Thanks guys and yes @GetTheStartyParted you are right, if it was a photo of a friend I wouldn't notice the horrible bit! It's just the skin thing getting me down. My arse looks like two empty carrier bags and the skin on my arms and thighs is crepey and wrinkly and disgusting.

I can't afford surgery for it and I wouldn't qualify on the nhs as it's not bad enough for any health issues, it's just unsightly. I've got some firming cream to try but if anyone had any other suggestions I will literally try anything!
