Hi all! I'm back with a bang! Thank you so much for the other lovely thread ladies who have taken care of this monthly thread while I have been ill. I'm starting to get a bit better now, my diabetes seems to be under control and I'm getting a little feeling back in my legs although I am still immobile and in chronic pain which makes exercise hard.

Anyway back to the main point! This is our ongoing thread for anyone who would like to try to lose 7lbs per month! There is a lovely mix of people on here all following different plans and regimes. All are welcome whether newbies, old timers, lurkers whatever! All we ask for is the supportive positive experience that everyone has had so far.

Previous thread is here May lose 7lb / 3kg per month thread http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4233945-May-lose-7lb-3kg-per-month-thread

My stats are:
SW 25st 2lbs
CW 13st 12lbs
Loss so far: 11st 4lbs
Loss for May: 10lbs
Target for end of June: 13st 5lbs

Good luck everyone and here's to an amazing sunny June!

You look great @cricketmum84!

I’ve had a mixy mixy week. Won’t be able to weigh myself for a week as am away. Trying to stay motivated nevertheless!

GetTheStartyParted · 04/06/2021 10:16

Feeling so happy this morning! My weight is still all over place but my run went so well.

I knocked about a minute off my previous fastest time, meaning I've knocked almost six and a half minutes off since I started Smile

Spending the day writing my final assignment, or at least some of it. Then having a takeaway as DH is going out and DS is having a sleepover help

Hope you're all having a good Friday too

Acidjazz · 04/06/2021 22:53

@cricketmum84 I had twins and had so much loose skin after, and honestly a few years down the line it is much better.

So time will help I bet.

I saw something online about one of them needle roller things for loose skin- but it could be poppycock.

And also, there is always supportive underwear.

I skipped my hiit workout this morning, and had cake..But I went for a 2 mile walk AND a sea swim. Which was cold.

cricketmum84 · 05/06/2021 10:21

Morning all! No loss for me this week I'm afraid. Still hovering at 13.12. I definitely need to track more this coming week.

It's my birthday Monday so I can see a difficult week ahead. Everyone knows not to buy me chocolates and I told DH that if he does get a cake it will just be him and the DC eating it. I'm due a repeat diabetes blood test in a couple of weeks and trying so hard to keep my blood sugars as low as possible!

We have a lovely pub meal out planned for tomorrow with my parents and sister. They do the most incredible ploughmans. I flipping love a ploughmans! Let's see if I'm restrained enough to not eat the bread though 😂 then we are ordering from my favourite Indian Monday night but I tend to go for the grilled meat dishes and salad so that shouldn't be too bad.

Have a lovely sunny weekend everyone!

Hi all, please can I join this thread?

I need some motivation to sort out my wobbles.... I go to the gym once a week. Not enough, I know, but with 3 dcs and 2 jobs I can't get there more!

Here are my stats:
Starting weight: 67kg
Goal weight: 60kg

Not even sure how to do it! There is so much out there - calorie counting, keto, low carb..... it's a blimin' minefield! I'm going to start with cutting down on portion sizes and try to stop raiding the fridge at random times throughout the day.

cricketmum84 · 06/06/2021 09:53

Morning and welcome @ndo4000

I've been following ww diet for the last 2 years and it works pretty well for me. I'm also v low carb which is helping.

@Acidjazz needle rollers sound scary!

@GetTheStartyParted did you manage to finish off your assignment?

Somewhere near thanks @cricketmum84
Monday is set aside for it too so no stressing here yet

We had a lovely day yesterday, my mum visited in the morning, DHs parents in the afternoon and then we went to DDs for dinner in the evening. Glad we made the most of the sun as its raining heavily this morning.

I'm swimming this afternoon with DH and both DS's.

@cricketmum84 enjoy your meal out today.

My scales have finally moved from a 12 to an 11! And my bmi has moved from obese to overweight! Good start to the week!

Sw 12st 10
Cw 11st 13
Tw 10st

plixy · 07/06/2021 06:55

And happy birthday @cricketmum84 😀

TheLastBox · 07/06/2021 07:10

Hi, mind if I join in too? I tried to aim for similar on my own last month but actually gained instead!

SW 14st 4.2 (always include last digit shown for the small loss weeks!)

Planning on a chocolate ban and logging on mfp

cricketmum84 · 07/06/2021 07:10

Fantastic news @plixy!!! My scales have moved too! I'm down to 13.10 and literally 1 pound away from overweight instead of obese!!

I swerved the ploughmans yesterday and got a steak salad instead. It was very very nice.

Feeling spoilt this morning with some lovely birthday gifts.

Happy Birthday @cricketmum84 Flowers

plixy · 07/06/2021 08:26

@TheLastBox most of my weight loss has been through cutting out chocolate. I still eat the same breakfast lunch and dinner but have stopped afternoon and evening snacks and only a small bit of chocolate every couple of days. It's made a huge difference.

Ardagusdubh · 07/06/2021 11:04

Happy birthday @cricketmum84
I've been useless and not lost anything so far this month. I shouldn't complain because it's entirely my own fault. Takeaways, chocolate, crisps, wine... List goes on. At least I haven't put on and hopefully I can move on and feel a bit more positive. Got a message from school to isolate so not ideal as I've recently joined in with a sports team and it's been great exercise but will have to miss this week at least. We'll try again and get planning for a better week ahead 😀

TheLastBox · 07/06/2021 14:50

@plixy that's encouraging to hear!

ImFree2doasiwant · 07/06/2021 15:34

Happy birthday @cricketmum84!

I'm only really starting today for this month. We went away at half term, and ate out quite a bit onsite (holiday site) so plenty of beige carbs. Miraculously, I didn't put any weight on! I have a 10 day plan, and want to be 100% for all of it. I lost 10lbs ĺast time but can't see that happening this time as I'm a lower starting weight.

Great day so far. Really REALLY keen to get under 13st!

GrandPrismatic · 09/06/2021 10:22

Happy belated birthday @cricketmum84!

I got below 73kg for the first time in 5 years this morning (72.95 😂). I’ve upped the ante now....I have a family wedding at the end of July and ordered a size 14 dress which arrived yesterday and fits remarkable well...indeed it was a tiny bit big...so in a moment of madness I’ve sent it back and ordered the 12! What better incentive? I’ll hang it up when it arrives and use it as my inspiration to lay off the crisps and wine for the next 6 weeks. I reckon if I can shift 3kg the 12 should fit and look good. I hope I’ve not tempted fate!

Howmanysleepsnow · 09/06/2021 17:57

May went a bit wrong and I gained 6lb.
SW 12st 10lb
SW June 10st 6lb
CW 10st
GW June 9st 9lb
GW 9st 4lb

TheLastBox · 09/06/2021 20:03

I'm still going here, I did slip up last night and had a slice of cheesecake but I'm working on my mindset that I CAN have that..just not every night..or the entire thing!

cricketmum84 · 09/06/2021 20:32

Does anyone have any amazing or Reston or salad recipes for my veg hating 12 year old?

She had to have some blood tests last week as she has mega heavy periods and has been getting faint and breathless. They have come back as folate anaemia and told us to get a supplement so I have started her on the wellteen plus ones but also needs to up fruit and veg. She said she would like to take salads to school but she is so bloody fussy!

How can I make them more interesting for her?

@cricketmum84

Thanks guys and yes *@GetTheStartyParted* you are right, if it was a photo of a friend I wouldn't notice the horrible bit! It's just the skin thing getting me down. My arse looks like two empty carrier bags and the skin on my arms and thighs is crepey and wrinkly and disgusting.

I can't afford surgery for it and I wouldn't qualify on the nhs as it's not bad enough for any health issues, it's just unsightly. I've got some firming cream to try but if anyone had any other suggestions I will literally try anything!

Could you try IPL skin tightening? Probably still pricey but maybe you could save up money from the fact your food shops will likely be cheaper? I'm going to skip wine this month and use my wine money to buy myself a nice treatment :)
FraserBear · 10/06/2021 20:38

Hi everyone!
I’ve been awol for months now so finally starting again as it’s always easier in the summer, but I’ve put on 10kg from my lowest weight Sad so a bit of a way to go.

SW (24/6/19): 95.0kg
2nd SW (31/5/21): 83.3kg
CW: 80.7kg
GW: 60.0kg eventually… but would settle for 70 at the moment!

Lovesacake · 10/06/2021 22:39

Hi everyone, just checking in to ‘confess’ that I have spectacularly fallen off the wagon today.

And also to say I share your feelings @cricketmum84 re crepe paper wrinkly skin that just hangs and sags. I’ve lost 4 stone and look like a deflated balloon.

I definitely think it helps to experiment with different styles of clothing as some of my clothes definitely show the saggy bits more/less.

Also, just embrace the sag. I try to think oh how much I loved all the pies, cakes and biscuits that have caused me to end up this way. Eating all the stuff really did give me a lot of pleasure (if it weren’t for health concerns I would’ve happily carried on eating that way forever!). So I kind of thing it’s ok to be a saggy balloon because I had so much fun getting here 😂

ImFree2doasiwant · 11/06/2021 07:32

Morning all, weigh in day fir me today . 2lbs off this week (since Monday when I chambered aboard the wagon) It means a new number which I chuffed about and will help keep me on track for the weekend.

SW 14st 6
June SW 13st 3
CW 12st 13.5
TW 11st 6
June target 12st 10.

On track for smashing 7lbs in June! At this rate I'll be at goal by August.

So pleased I found this thread, breaking it down into half stones is great, and it's enough of a loss to feel like I'm getting somewhere. I'm very easily disheartened by slower losses .
