@TheRealHousewife has given me the honour of starting our new thread so here we go....

I can't work out how to copy her helpful links over but if you go
to thread you can look them up and also read the thread and get a feel for if this is the place for you.

We are a friendly bunch with lots of support, advice, hand holding and no judgement at all.

I am doing Intermittent Fasting and run several times a week. Others are calorie counting and walking lots. All our welcome. Post as little or as much as you want. I didn't post my weight for months and was still fully welcomed and involved.

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo is our star pupil with spreadsheets but we have all done really well and I am proud of each and everyone of you.

Here's to a good month and let's get going.

so upset I forgot my weigh in stuff - I'll come back later x

Crazzzycat · 17/05/2021 10:14

Morning all! I’ve been doing a bit of an experiment with increasing my calories. My FitBit is forever telling me that, based on my activity levels, I could eat a lot more and still loose weight. So over the last week I’ve increased my calories to 1700 a day. It hardly feels like a diet to be honest, apart from excessively logging everything.

Anyway, I jumped on the scales this morning, expecting a tiny drop, at best, with those calories... I’ve lost 3.5 lbs. I’ll take it, but I am somewhat puzzled because that’s a lot more than I was losing on 1400 kcal. I’m going to try 1700 kcal for another week, because well, why not! It’d be interesting to see if this was some weird fluke, or a good number for me to continue to loose weight on over the next few weeks.

Have a good week everyone!

SunshineCake · 17/05/2021 11:53

Grin.

I wish I had read this thread before I ordered the flowers @BrioLover as I would have picked an orchid and I have used M&S before. Hopefully what I have chosen will be okay but I'm really confused by the free chocolates they will send as well. Friend likes chocolate but seems odd with sympathy flowers.

Try not to stress about the weekend. You know it was self sabotage so you can sort that for next time. You are still here and trying so all good.

SunshineCat is booked in with the vet this afternoon. Nearly cried when I told DD she was going and I have texted DS1 at university to let him know. Can't tell DS2 as he's in school but DH will tell him when he picks him up and I'm sure she will come home🤞.

@TheRealHousewife !!! Hurray! Hello! So lovely to see you and thank you for posting. We miss you.

I went running for first time since Thursday and did find it hard but actually did okay then walked the dog but apart from driving to the vet won't do much else energetic today! Food wise I am having left over chicken tray bake with veg and dinner is jacket potato and salad with cheese.

Have a good day everyone. You are all doing fabulous!!

Thank you @132orbust. I do get very upset with DD as she is so much ruder to me than anyone. The boys are rarely mean to me. Sometimes I did pull her up on it but often I am so shocked and upset I just walk off as can't think what to say. She always has a response. She told me not to cook for her anymore and also said if dh and I were going to argue about her to make sure she can't hear us. I soon put her straight on that and I will not be cooking for her. She wants me to take her food shopping but I am not. We have plenty in, stuff she has eaten before and I am sick of her dictating and lack of appreciation. I am sorry you are upset. It really means a lot to me but please don't be Flowers. I should have been firmer a lot sooner but with her mental health being terrible and self harming I was scared too in case she hurt herself badly.

I wonder if you haven't been eating enough @Crazzzycat hence the big loss. Well done. I know I had my best ever weekly loss in a week where I ate what I wanted after I had been doing Diet Chef.

No, Sunshine we're the 🐢🐢!!! Just because I hate dislike cats it doesn't mean we're not 🐢🐢 buddies!Shock

Puffalicious · 17/05/2021 18:29

Ps I love dogs. Does that make a difference?

CocoaMojo · 17/05/2021 18:58

Happy Monday all. Still here plodding along. Put on about half a pound over weekend but not hugely surprised. I teach in sixth form and we said goodbye to the upper sixth last week so lots of choc knocking around at work/home I can't say no to 😳no willpower. Also nearly my TOTM which may be part of it

Went for a run yesterday and got soaked haha. Going to set my exercise intentions for this week - 2 x runs and 2 x online pilates exercise videos. Let's see how I get on with trying to prioritise exercise this week.

But not right now. About once every 2 months or so I get a random bout of insomnia. Managed about 3 hours last night I think and feeling a bit Confused

SunshineCake · 17/05/2021 19:03

True 🐢🐢🐢. You are forgiven! And yes, dogs are the best. I have one of those too! 🐕

@CocoaMojo you are doing fab! I wonder if mine was one of the upper sixth you said good bye to. She didn't take in chocolates though. I did ask but then we forgot. It is chucking it down here at the moment. My app said it was going to rain all day but we only had a few drops earlier and now it is properly coming down. Good luck with your exercise plan 🏃‍♀️. You've got this. DD has a sleep disorder and I've had times where I didn't sleep well, including one ten night span where I didn't sleep at all.

Just painted my nails which is good as I really want some sweeties.

Ionacat · 17/05/2021 21:46

Happy Monday! It is also chucking it down here. Currently resisting sweets unfortunately a satsuma didn’t cut it. Think I need to head upstairs to bed and a book and away from temptation.
Good luck with your exercise plan @CocoaMojo. I have to say you are all motivating me to shift my backside out for a run every other day! Dancing starts back after half term, which I’m really looking forward to.

How’s Sunshine cat? @SunshineCake

SunshineCake · 17/05/2021 22:09

Carry on resisting! You are doing well. I did okayish today but did eat something in the fasting time Hmm.

Thank you for asking about SunshineCat. She has inflammation of the trachea so is in metacam for ten days. I gave her her tea an hour early so she could have her first dose and she was happy and ate it all up. Haven't heard her coughing since her last one when I was putting her in the case.

I’m alive and eating a bit too well. After a salty day and noticing in the am that my wedding band wasn’t slipping off I stepped on the scale. 149.1
So holding steady, I’m not displeased which might be the reason I’m not pushing to loose the last 14.

SunshineCake · 18/05/2021 06:26

Hi @fallfallfall. Nice to hear from you. Glad you are okay. Now we just need @HalfShrunkMoreToGo, @Foreverlexicon and @MrsJonesAndMe to check in and the gang is back together.

YetAnotherWalk · 18/05/2021 06:37

Hi, just a quick wave from the former MrsJ I'm still around, but the last lock down has knocked me for six. Trying to get back on my feet with lots of extra weight Hmm

Thanks for thinking of me x

SunshineCake · 18/05/2021 06:40

Hi @YetAnotherWalk. Sorry to hear you have been having a tough time but lovely to hear from you. We are all here to help and support you so join in as much as you can and take care.

Well done all, hugs for anyone who needs one xox
Back to work full time and with school runs and regular life don’t have much time for catching up and checking in, mid month weigh in down to 13-4 that’s 5 down this month yay must be all the running around chasing my tail 😉

SunshineCake · 18/05/2021 13:44

That's great @Avocadorable. Well done,

I weighed myself today after my run in case I don't go tomorrow. I'm the same as last Wednesday and the Wednesday before so from May 5th I've lost nothing! The advantage of weekly weighing only would have shown me I have maintained but as I've weighed a couple of times in between I have seen I have gone up a bit but have got it off.

I was hoping to drop to the next stone level in April and that didn't happen so I need to work harder in the next two weeks to get to the next stone down.

OP posts:
Crazzzycat · 18/05/2021 14:58

Well done on that loss @Avocadorable

I weighed myself again this morning, just to make sure that the weight I lost over the last week was actually a real loss. The numbers were almost a pound lower than yesterday, so I guess it really wasn’t some kind of weird blip 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ll try to stay off the scales now until next Monday

I hope your cat’s health continues to improve @SunshineCake. It’s horrible when pets are not well.

SunshineCake · 18/05/2021 15:43

Thanks @Crazzzycat. She is still coughing and seems a bit fed up. DH said she needs to be on the meds for at least four days to maybe stop the coughing. I feel she is coughing less.

OP posts:
SunshineCake · 18/05/2021 15:44

And well done on your weight loss @Crazzzycat!

OP posts:
Ionacat · 18/05/2021 20:42

Well done on the loss @Crazzzycat

I forced myself out to a running club session for the first time ever tonight. I actually enjoyed myself, even if it did tip it down! .
I am definitely going to try and go again and perhaps investigate trying their other runs!

swampytiggaa · 18/05/2021 21:16

I chickened out of my morning run today because the weather was utterly grim. Instead I met my friend for breakfast and we planned our marathon training 👍

tostaky · 18/05/2021 22:05

Well done on all the running and weight loss everybody!
I have plateau-ed for the past two weeks and thats down to eating too much at the weekend.
My son's bday is on Saturday so that means a little party... i will have to try hard to resist to the cake...chocolate...etc... i feel like homer simpson! Grin

tostaky · 19/05/2021 06:08

Good morning everyone! I have weighed myself and lost 1.5kg since last week! So happy!
This means i have exactly lost 1 stone since Easter. It is not quite yet 10kg but im happy and it is motivating to thing that all these sacrifices are worth it!
Shiny new goals as of this morning!!

  • CW: 87kg
  • Goal 1: 80kg? to fit in my new Hobbs trousers
  • Goal 2: 68kg - to start running again and give some TLC to my pelvic floor
  • Goal 3: 62 kg - to be able to wear all my pretty dresses in my wardrobe!
  • Goal 3: not to put weight back on during winter Hmm

25kg to go... thats almost 4 stones 🤪

Rewis · 19/05/2021 07:55

SW May14: 88.8kg
Current weight: 87kg

I've lost 1.8kg yay. Honestly last time I weighed myself on afternoon so that might be it. I think for me to get comparable results I'll weigh myself once a week first thing in the morning after using bathroom.
Just went for a run and listened to meeting on headphones. Might try to get into swimming again but we shall see if I bother to wake up early!

BrioLover · 19/05/2021 07:55

@tostaky that's excellent progress! I too am down 1.5kgs this week

SW 70kg
CW 68.5kg
TW 65kg

Have done calorie counting on MFP and eaten very healthily, plus allowed myself that snack as per @SunshineCake's advice. Glad SunshineCat seems to be on the mend too
