Hi All welcome to the March loose 7lb a month. Our founder and usual host @cricketmum89 is taking a well earned break so I've started this thread to help keep us all on track.
We are a friendly bunch doing lots of different diets at lots of different weights.

It's good to see everyone's losses. @grassisjeweled there will be a new thread, they follow on every month which is brilliant.

Today started a bit stressful with work and a 6 year old who was reluctant to go to school (even though she's fine once she's there) but I have stayed on track. Managed to get 20 minutes on the exercise bike. I have a bit of a sore knee so I hope I'm ok to run on Wednesday.

It's frustrating when the loss feels slow but we can all get there in the end- even if it takes a little longer than planned!!

Foresttheout · 22/03/2021 19:17

@frumpyswayingqueen that is some serious restraint I can easily eat an entire chocolate orange without blinking. Blush
Small win today although I haven't lost that much weight I think all the exercise has changed my body shape as I tried on some bikinis for my easter holiday and was shocked to discover ones that where way to tight 6 months ago now fit perfectly. Not convinced I'll brave a bikini and my belly out in the public pool but perhaps on the rooms balcony

Thanks nerr, good to know!

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 23/03/2021 07:16

@frumpyswayingqueen I weigh most days but only record my weight once a week on Wednesdays. What I have noticed is that if I'm going to see an increase I see it Sunday or Monday due to weekend treats so I'd avoid those as weigh in days 😃

Usually it's only a blip for a couple of days because things like takeaway have lots of salt so I see an immediate increase in water weight which falls off after a day or two.

GetTheStartyParted · 23/03/2021 22:43

So, tomorrow marks the start of me calorie counting rather than following keto. Going to see how it goes Smile I'm also going to start recording the Friday morning weigh in, instead of Monday, so any weekend treats have been worked off during the week Wink

Wish me luck!

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 24/03/2021 07:03

MegBusset · 24/03/2021 07:15

Well done everyone and good luck with the calorie counting @GetTheStartyParted!

Midweek weigh-in:
SW: 10st 4lb
CW: 9st 12lb
GW: 9st 4lb

Due my period in a couple of days so expect to stall or go up a little over the next week or so.

NerrSnerr · 24/03/2021 08:05

Good luck @GetTheStartyParted with the calorie counting. Well done @MegBusset and @HalfShrunkMoreToGo on the losses.

My weight loss is very slow this week but I am 5lbs down this month so can't complain, really hoping to make it to the 7lbs this month. I really hate my current size 14 jeans so working on getting out of those.

GetTheStartyParted · 24/03/2021 09:42

Thank you and well done with your losses.

@NerrSnerr 5lbs is a great loss, hope you make the 7lbs just so you're happy though Smile

I'm 4lb down so far this month. Periods are still all over the place though so my weight depends on my hormones each day Hmm

Lesson learned today. Do NOT eat breakfast before your run, haha. I wasn't ill but it was not a comfortable feeling. I usually wait until after, and now I know that's the best idea Grin

Off to write an assignment now. Hope you all have a nice, sunny day Smile

frumpyswayingqueen · 24/03/2021 13:04

Well done to all those making progress.

Interesting to see that I'm not the only one who's tempted to weigh more than once a week.I hadn't thought about the effect of weekend treats, so thanks for the tip @HalfShrunkMoreToGo.

And yes, I am rather proud of my steely will power re chocolate orange! A lifetime first for me I think Grin

NerrSnerr · 25/03/2021 07:19

Morning all. Have weighed this morning and I'm 11st 8 which means I am 7lbs down in March. I will have my usual takeaway and a few drinks this weekend but hoping to end March at 11st 7 so I can have a fighting chance of getting into the 10s by the end of April.

Going to make sure I eat well today and get some exercise done.

Outside pool and classes open for me next week so I have a Pilates class booked for next Wednesday. I imagine the pool will be busy which I find stressful for doing lengths so will see how that goes- I will take the children swimming though.

GetTheStartyParted · 25/03/2021 11:15

Well done @NerrSnerr Star I think you're right. Everywhere is probably going to be really busy when it reopens. I'm not sure I'm going to renew my gym and swim membership when it expires, especially as we are setting up a home gym. It will be nice to get back to some activities won't it.

My DH said today, "I've just realised that in our 15 years together, I have never seen you run!"

He must not have believed me when I said I was starting off on the treadmill as a complete beginner. I'm ashamed to say I never been in a gym, never been running or anything. Swimming was my go to when I did anything.

Proudly up to running 2.5km now though Grin Started almost 3 weeks ago but had last week off ill. It definitely helps that I'm over 4st lighter though.

Foresttheout · 25/03/2021 12:05

@GetTheStartyParted Well done! glad you're enjoying the running. I half heartedly announced I was going to run a half marathon last year DP laughed so much that I feel I now really have to do it just to prove him wrong. Sadly i'm still not able to run properly after injuring my leg 3 months ago. I shocked myself by how much I got into it towards the end of last year it was so freeing to just leave my house and run without feeling like I might die 30 seconds in

Foxhasbigsocks · 26/03/2021 10:12

Checking back in - lost a lot of weight on these threads last year but have had a tough few months and the weight is creeping back on. I’m still just in green bmi (only just now) but I would love to join so I stick to healthy habits and don’t shoot back up the bmi bands again

Foxhasbigsocks · 26/03/2021 10:12

I have nc - should have said

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 26/03/2021 10:33

@GetTheStartyParted and @Foresttheout on an impulse last night I signed up for race for life and committed to jogging the whole thing (slowly) if people sponsor me, so now I'm publicly committed to doing it 😂

GetTheStartyParted · 26/03/2021 14:19

@Foresttheout I have faith in you!

And @HalfShrunkMoreToGo good luck!

You are both very brave - I want to be able to run much better on my treadmill before I even leave the house to run Blush

Foresttheout · 26/03/2021 14:51

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo good luck! I did a race for life a few years ago it was great everyone just having fun.
@getthestartyparted thankyou, sadly its going to be a long way off as i currently can't even walk 5km without pain let alone run 21km but I'll do it someday.
Weightloss wise march has been a complete fail. And we're officially back in lockdown which has cancelled my easter trip and most likeky my trip home so I'm feeling very sorry myself and planning homemade pizza and a very large glass of wine for the evening

OP posts:
GetTheStartyParted · 26/03/2021 15:49

@Foresttheout ahh, sorry to hear that. We had to cancel a big holiday last year and haven't dared to book anything else yet. Not being able to go home sucks Flowers

You will get there, I'm sure of it. You sound so determined.

MegBusset · 27/03/2021 08:55

Saturday weigh-in:
SW: 10st 4lb
CW: 9st 11.6lb
GW: 9st 4lb

Very nearly half a stone down for March - very happy with that.

I can't run due to dodgy joints (and pelvic floor!) but love walking - could walk dawn to dusk every day. Did 10 miles yesterday but usually cover about 4 miles on a work day and 6-8 on a weekend.

Hartleyhare1206 · 27/03/2021 11:08

Weighed today - 1.6lbs off (despite a huge MacDonald’s blow out on Sunday with DD 🤦‍♀️) and meaning I’ve finally managed to hit my mini target of dropping in to the next stone bracket - now 12lbs 12.6oz and a total of 16+ lbs down since mid jan which I’m thrilled with.
Am trying to use the governments roll back of restrictions as mini deadlines to break it all down in to manageable chunks - by the time we can socialise and have meals out on may 17th I’d like to be below 12 1/2 stone, and by the time we can see people more freely on June 21st be at my main target of 11 stone 11lbs which is within my healthy BMI (I’m tall!) that’s my plan anyway!
Not going to hold myself to it too obsessively - if I’m even close to those targets I’ll be bloody happy to be honest!

Have a good weekend everyone! Xx

Hartleyhare1206 · 27/03/2021 11:40

Also gives me a total loss for March of 6.2lbs. So not the 7lbs we would all love, but I’m still satisfied it’s been a productive month! X

GothamGirl1970 · 27/03/2021 11:42

Thanks to this thread I only have .3 left to 7 pounds! You are all inspiring

frumpyswayingqueen · 27/03/2021 13:25

I weighed 69.7 kilos yesterday which means I have lost 1.3 kilos in about three weeks - or 2.87 pounds. (Possibly more actually, since aunt Flo arrived yesterday afternoon and could have messed weight up a bit.)

I realistically won't have lost 7lbs in March because I was late starting, but I am thrilled with my progress and motivated to keep it up.

MFP is helping so much.

Will there be a new thread for next month?

SW: 72
CW: 69.7
GW: 60 (will be happy with 62)

Smarshian · 27/03/2021 16:52

Down to 10st 4lb now. Down from 10st 9lb beginning of March. So 5lb so far. Would like to get another lb by Wednesday to make it 6lb for the month and 14lb since I started at the end of Jan.
