Hi All welcome to the March loose 7lb a month. Our founder and usual host @cricketmum89 is taking a well earned break so I've started this thread to help keep us all on track.
We are a friendly bunch doing lots of different diets at lots of different weights.

Really hoping to lose over 4lb this month. I haven't been in the 10s for over a decade Blush

Thanks!!

Good morning and thanks for the new thread. I lost a load of weight last year, put most of it on at the end of the year and am back again. I have been knocking around since the new year but haven't been really trying.

SW 12st 6
March 1st 2022 12st 1
CW- 11st 12

I have lost 3lbs so far this month. Mostly water I imagine but it's nice to start well. I need to do this- I won't be wearing by big, frumpy shorts like I have done the last 2 years in the summer. I am short and all my weight goes on my belly and I look like a beach ball at the moment!

I lurked on your Feb thread - well done everyone on your losses, you’ve done so well!

Started mid jan (birthday is early jan so no way can I be one of those 1st of jan/new start dieters 🤣) and have lost about 9.5lbs so far. Not exactly flying off but I’ve noticed as I get older it just doesn’t do that anymore (sobs😢)

Started mid Jan at 14 stone
Current weight 13.5.3
Target is 11.11

No “formal” exercise but have a dog I walk very briskly for around 40mins minimum a day (proper walk - think fast and hilly ie/knackering!) have an active job and a 4 year old DD so not much opportunity to be sedentary.

Don’t know how realistic 7lbs off in a month really is for me but I’d like to give it a good go! Like the idea of being accountable to someone in a group like this so if you’ll have me I’d love to give it a go!

Smarshian · 03/03/2021 09:28

Morning all and thanks @Foresttheout for the new thread.
I joined the Feb thread and did well
SW: 11st 2lb on 25th Jan
CW: 10st 8lb
GW: 9st 2lb
I’m aiming for 5lb in March which would take me to 10st 3lb and into a healthy weight zone.
Have signed up to a run 100k challenge in March and mainly just cutting out snacks and having one lower carb meal a day (skipping the rice/potato/pasta).
What is everyone else’s plan?

I'm doing a combo on 18/6, slim fast shakes and general healthy eating but it's still being soooo slow coming off.

I've also started c25k so hopefully that will help a bit.

NerrSnerr · 03/03/2021 09:47

Welcome @Hartleyhare1206 and @sqirrelfriends. I find these threads really supportive (and very welcoming when I continually return).

Hoping to lose just over 4lbs this month and get into the 10s. That's a place I haven't been in for over 50 years, how horrifying is that? Might not manage it because for the last few months I've only been going down 2 or 3 lbs each month but I can dream...

cricketmum84 · 03/03/2021 09:53

Thanks @Foresttheout 🥰

I'll go get weighed shortly (well when I've dragged myself out of bed). I've definitely gained in February, too much stress and I'm still in the wheelchair and struggling to exercise. Hoping that once my blood sugars are under control that March will go better for me!

FantasticRik1 · 03/03/2021 10:01

Hello - can I join please? I don’t have very much to lose (14lb) but have previously lost around 4st and it‘a slowly going back on.
I used to go to the gym regularly and run, but lockdown and an unexpected bereavement last year meant I stopped everything overnight. My old eating habits have crept back in, and I need to gain some control.
I’m planning on counting my calories, cutting out crisps and biscuits, 16/8 and starting some exercise again.
SW (right back at the beginning) 12st 13lb
CW 10st 3lb
GW 9st 3lb
Going out for a walk / run today. I also walk my dog.

alwaysinpjs · 03/03/2021 10:45

I'll join too please. I lost 2 stone in lockdown one but the weight has crept on since September and I'm 1 stone up again. I know what I need to do, just need to get back in control of my eating and cut the snacking.
Will be using MFP. Also walk around 6 miles per day but I've done that throughout so can't rely on it.
CW 10st 1lb
TW 9st 3lb

I've got so many clothes I bought last year that no longer fit and the world reopens soon!!

Onesmallstep67 · 03/03/2021 10:47

Thanks @Foresttheout for the new thread. And lovely to see you @cricketmum84.

I have had a very calorie laden start to March ( birthday) so I am going to try to make up for lost ground. Aiming for up to 7lbs loss by Easter now. Finding progress very slow since properly being menopausal. As soon as I can I think I need to see the GP and discuss if there are any ways of improving my hot flushes and if anything could help to move the weight loss along.

NoJetter · 03/03/2021 11:02

Hi can I join please?

I started in January. I’m doing calorie counting (on my Fitbit) sticking to 1200 (ish) and walking as much as I can. I had spinal surgery in December so can’t currently exercise but given that I was housebound for 6 months last year with back problems I am happy with just walking for now!

I started at 86.2kg and I’m now 78.5kg so I have lost almost 8kg. I’d like to get down to 63.5kg which is what I was when I got married 5 years ago and that feels like a healthy weight for me. My first goal will be to get to 72kg which will be back at a healthy BMI. I’m losing about 1kg a week or so at the moment. Hopefully will continue at this rate as it doesn’t feel too difficult and feels like a sustainable lifestyle change rather than a diet so I’m quite happy with how things are going.

Nyancat · 03/03/2021 11:15

Hi, can I join too please. I had lost a lot before lockdown 1 and with being at home, not working and no gym I've put it all and more back on.
SW: 11st 4
CW: 11st 1
GW: 9 st 4
I haven't been over 11 stone since i was about to deliver DS many years ago so it's been a bit of a wakeup to get it shifted.

Hartleyhare1206 · 03/03/2021 11:27

Thanks @NerrSnerr!

Hi to the other newbies too!

I weigh in on Sunday. Helps to keep me sensible on a Saturday night when the urge to have a big fat takeaway and lots of gin strikes!

TangerineGreen · 03/03/2021 11:32

I’d like to join too if that’s ok, my weight used to take care of itself mainly but lockdown, and lots of other life stuff have increased my comfort eating and decreased pretty much all exercise, so it’s starting to creep up.

I’m now calorie counting to remain in deficit using MFP, walking/jogging 5K one day and then a gentle recovery 5K gentle walk the next day. Been doing this for two weeks and feel much better in myself but no change on the scales yet, am hoping to will come in time.

theshellhouse · 03/03/2021 11:37

Hello, please could I join too? I've been lurking on the February thread and getting inspiration. My aim at the moment is to keep doing the things I've been doing but do them consistently, rather than dashing to the scale every morning and losing heart with every fluctuation.
I lost a good amount of weight (for me) in November when I didn't weigh myself all month and ever since then I've been stuck losing and regaining the same 1.5kg.
SW 75.8kg
1st March weight 74kg (but I think that was a lot of salt and alcohol bloat! Previous day 72.7kg)
GW 58kg but first goal 69.9kg

Foresttheout · 03/03/2021 12:33

Welcome @hartleyhare1206
Forgot my own count Blush
Start weight Jan after putting everything back on in December was 76kg
Current weight 72.5kg
I only lost 0.5kg in February which is a bit ridiculous even though I'm a slow loser at the best of times. Hoping for 2kg in March.
My plan is 16:8 5 days a week minimum. Drink way more water than I did last month and try to reduce portion sizes, particularly for carbs and sugar. Exercise wise I'm hoping to get the all clear from the physio to run next week so that will help with burning calories but currently I do 2x strength/ Hiit classes a week and a minimum of a 30 minute walk every day.

NatMoz · 03/03/2021 13:05

I need to join.

I weighed myself yesterday and was 12 stone. Not the highest I've ever been but close.

So:

SW 12 stone
GW 11st 2lb.

I had a miscarriage recently where while pregnant too tired to run and comfort ate following the bleeding. It was hard but I need to take back control.

Yesterday when I got the weight shock I went for a run at lunch time. I covered 5 miles but did it V slowly. However still better than not going out at all.

Going for a run after work today probably another 5 miles and have also cut out cake from my life. I'm reducing my carbs too, so lots of chicken salads in this house!

Fingers crossed I'll get to where I need to be before 12 April when lockdown starts to lift a little. That's the goal anyway.

Want to lose a stone but 5lb this month would make me happy!

golddustwomen · 03/03/2021 13:33

Hi all, I'd love to join please?

Just massively let myself go over the past 3 years, am determined to feel confident in the way I look again!

Started 16:8 again on Monday, eating window 10am - 6pm with smaller portions. Also giving myself a kick up the arse to do 30mins zoom exercise classes at least 5 days a week. Mixture of hiit and Pilates. I am so bloody lazy though but figure if I've paid £ for the classes then I'll make sure I bloody well do them!

Will weigh myself tonight and update. Going to weigh weekly as I think I'll become obsessive if I weigh daily!!

golddustwomen · 03/03/2021 13:41

Just weighed myself and 11stone 9
No point putting it off til tonight !!

Hartleyhare1206 · 03/03/2021 14:09

@NatMoz I’m so sorry about the miscarriage 😢 great work on the run though - 5 miles is awesome. Even if you’re a bit slower than normal you’d still be way faster than me - it’d take me about a week to run that far 🤣

NatMoz · 03/03/2021 14:18

Yeah it's rough but life moves on.

I am quite fit I think but eating is my downfall. I'm terrible and it is 80% diet at the end of the day
