So, I am only on my second day, when would you weigh yourself first time after starting?

notapizzaeater · 12/03/2021 14:35

Probably not healthy but I weigh every day

Chrissols · 12/03/2021 15:16

@notapizzaeater I can see myself doing that, otherwise I think I may go off track if I don't keep a check on myself.

MooChops89 · 12/03/2021 22:04

I also weigh every day. Helps keep me on track, if its going the wrong way I can rein myself in a bit more!

andadietcoke · 12/03/2021 23:44

I'm the other way. I try and weigh in less frequently because I stick to calories and exercise and water religiously and I know if I weigh one day and I've put on then I'll be demotivated. Better to let it even out over a few days knowing I'm doing all the right things.

andadietcoke · 13/03/2021 10:37

@Chrissols how are you getting on?

Chrissols · 13/03/2021 10:42

@andadietcoke okay I think, not noticed a huge reduction in appetite, but only day three. Having said that, because I have been reading so much about side effects I am nearly afraid to eat. Stood on the scales this morning and it is showing 4lb down so something's working. Just wish I could close my eyes and it wake up to it being two months down the line......

notapizzaeater · 13/03/2021 11:28

Got weighed this morning, I'm 45.2 lbs down. Hoping fir 2.6 lbs this next week as it tips me into the next stone but it's Mother's Day .....

Chrissols · 13/03/2021 11:43

@notapizzaeater How long has that taken if you don't mind me asking? I would be so so happy with that amount

notapizzaeater · 13/03/2021 12:18

@Chrissols

I started weighing on 26th November - I took time off over Xmas and new year - then a few days in January as my DH died and my mum was here making sure I ate !

Chrissols · 13/03/2021 12:23

@notapizzaeater that's amazing. Did you have to start back at the beginning in when you re-started?

notapizzaeater · 13/03/2021 13:43

Yes I did, though tbh I stayed on .6 for weeks as I didn't feel hungry, then I went to .6 plus 5 'clicks' then to 1.2 and I've not moved up from there yet.

Chrissols · 13/03/2021 14:34

I am feeling so sick today, is this what is meant by no appetite?

andadietcoke · 13/03/2021 15:29

No. I don't feel sick or have an appetite.

Chrissols · 13/03/2021 15:45

@andadietcoke I hope I get to that stage. It's all new and a learning curb I guess. I started on day one with first jab at 8.00am, I am trying to go a couple of hours later each day to get to an evening one to hopefully sleep through the worse. The plus side is though that I just couldnt face food at all today.

HowlingGale · 13/03/2021 16:41

notapizza hi Pizza, you are doing amazingly well, I'm sure all of us on this thread hope to achieve your level of success in time!

I didn't realise you could dose yourself with quantities other than the prescribed 0.6/1.2/2.4/3 g. So when you say 0.6 plus five clicks, that's actually less than 1.2? Is it half way between 0.6 - 1.2 ie 0.9?

notapizzaeater · 13/03/2021 16:59

Yes so it's a sort of half dose. If you're getting your pens from Lloyds there's no benefit to this as they charge a flat rate each month of the full dose. I have only today started week on my next batch of five pens - the last batch where what I got in November.

There's some really good Facebook groups with lots of info on. I would have just followed the .6 fir a week, 1.2 fir a week etc .... till I read the Facebook group !

HowlingGale · 13/03/2021 17:28

I've done 2 weeks of the 0.6 dose, and then on Thursday moved up to 1.2. But I might try dropping it down to see if it's still effective and make the pens last longer - useful to know!
I didn't buy my pens from Lloyds, but online somewhere Doctors R US or something. So worth trying to make them last longer and cost less!

Chrissols · 14/03/2021 21:07

I changed my jab today from morning till mid afternoon.....I am so hungry this evening, it’s taking all my willpower not to eat something

andadietcoke · 14/03/2021 22:41

I think i read that it's most effective 11 hours after taking it but I don't have any appetite all day.

Weigh in tomorrow for me I think. It's been nearly a week but then I've just started my period so might wait!

shutterteal · 15/03/2021 07:09

4 injections in and I've lost 2.2kg.
Actually came away for 2 nights in a hotel (we are overseas where this is permitted) so have been eating, but less than normal.
Very encouraging.
How are all the newbies doing?

Chrissols · 15/03/2021 09:54

My scales haven't moved for two days and only on day 5 😥

notapizzaeater · 15/03/2021 14:00

@Chrissols don't panic, make sure you're drinking lots of water and 'going' to the loo. It will come......

HowlingGale · 15/03/2021 14:04

Chrissols Don't be disheartened Chrissols, everyone is different, and losing weight takes time. You didn't put the weight on overnight, and losing it is no different, even with Saxenda. It's not a miracle cure, just an aid to curb your appetite and make it easier to stick to a healthy eating plan, which will, if you stick to it for a few months, reap results. "Pizza" for example, has had great results, but she's been doing this since November, so that's four months in. So hang on in there, I know it's motivating to see the scale move in the right direction, but you probably know deep down that if you continue eating the way you are, and keep plugging away, that it will result in weight loss. And if you feel like throwing in the towel, well fast forward to six months time. If you give up now, then you will be in the same position, if not worse, come the summer. But if you just keep going, even though you haven't had a motivating big loss in your first week, you will see results in the end. Unless you are actually stuffing yourself with mountains of junk and deluding yourself!! Which I am sure is not the case.

Chrissols · 15/03/2021 14:06

@notapizzaeater thank you, its good to get support. I am being so good, was really hungry last night but did not give in, actually had less than 800 calories yesterday so was hoping to see the scales move, but nothing. Haven't had any problem with 'the loo'.....yet
