@HowlingGale thanks for that, I need to hear support. No, definitely not been stuffing my face by any means, have been well under the calories I should be having, albeit yesterday I was really hungry. I have just stopped having any effects from the injection so thinking maybe the first dosage is maybe a bit low for me, hopefully when I go up on Thursday I will notice something happening

shutterteal · 15/03/2021 15:17

@Chrissols
Weight loss is bound to happen if you're eating less. I bet next week you will see results.
Are you going up to 1.2 after a week of 0.6? I get a bit confused about that as everyone talks different numbers.

Chrissols · 15/03/2021 15:29

@shutterteal Hi, definitely eating less so fingers crossed. Really want to be in a swimsuit later this year for hols. Yes, I am going up to 1.2 on Thursday so a bit nervous, but also hoping it might be what I need. I have to check in with the pharmacist weekly for the first month so have to keep to the dose they say, will be at 3.0 at the end of that month then I can stop checking in till three months, that's when I have to have lost 10% of body weight form him to continue prescribing

Chrissols · 15/03/2021 15:30

@shutterteal, sorry 5% of body weight

MolotovMocktail · 15/03/2021 16:10

I’ve lost less than a pound in my first week Sad I have increased 3 clicks from 0.6 which has helped, and might increase to 1.2 tomorrow.

I’ve done the same as you Chrissols and shifted to injecting in the afternoon which I am finding stops my evening snacking. Am a bit disheartened but will carry on, at least it’s going in the right direction. My BMI is 29.7 and I weight train too so maybe I won’t see as dramatic a reduction on the scales, might start taking measurements as well.

Chrissols · 15/03/2021 17:14

@MolotovMocktail it is very disheartening isn't it, but yes it's definitely worth carrying on. I have a higher BMI at 34 so really need to get it down......once I hit the under 30 mark I will be ecstatic. What I really cannot wait for is to get out that the awful 'obese' category, what an awful word that is.

whatsthestory123 · 15/03/2021 19:51

hi all ,was having the same problems no weight loss and really messed with my approach but got back on it and am refusing to weigh myself at all

i take it at tea time now as never feel hungry in the day but force myself to have a go ahead bar in the day and am a terrible night snacker so find taking the jab in the evening curbs my bad habits more

anyway its really good so many are supporting each other

I am thinking of jumping up to the next dose a day early tomorrow as I am feeling so hungry, not cheating, but weight is not budging.

HowlingGale · 16/03/2021 13:24

Chrissols it sounds as if you are not eating very much - I think further up the thread you said you were eating less than 1000 calories a day. No wonder you are hungry! Maybe you could up your calorie count a little to make it easier to stick to? Though increasing the dose might help too. Good luck!

shutterteal · 16/03/2021 14:18

@Chrissols
Are you at home or out at work? If you're at home try having your main meal late lunchtime or around 3pm. I find this fills me and then I can just have a small something in the evening.
And go to bed early!! That helps.
Sounds like we have similar amounts to lose.

Chrissols · 16/03/2021 14:26

@HowlingGale yes I am having less than 1000 a day, may try and up them a little, just so scared of not losing, and at worst, putting on.
@shutterteal that's actually a good idea to have my main meal earlier in the day, I work from home (sat on my bum all day at a computer). Going to bed early won't be a problem as one think Saxenda has done for me is made me tired. I stood on the scale this morning and it still hasn't budged!

shutterteal · 16/03/2021 14:33

Late lunch, walk after work, shower, pj's, snack, tv or read etc, then early to bed. You can do this!

Chrissols · 16/03/2021 14:55

@shutterteal I can and I will......just may drone on a bit on hear till I see it working

whatsthestory123 · 16/03/2021 17:24

i fell into that trap a few weeks ago was eating 800 1k calories and no weight loss and then i fell of the wagon

i dont think it helps eating so few and now i force myself something in the day and upped my fruit and bought my dinner forward a little

dosent the body go into starvation mode if we dont eat enough and then works against losing weight, just my musing but sure ive heard something like that

good luck x

morning well i finally made myself jump on the scales and very pleased to report have lost 7lb realistically in the last 2 weeks after a bad start and given myself a stern talking to even thoughi started a month a go but its the last 2 weeks when i really got stuck in

so for those with stubborn weight numbers that wont move as in my case it just keep going

am still not going to weigh myself dailytrying for 7-10 days

MolotovMocktail · 17/03/2021 09:34

Well done OP, that’s great progress! I ended up having a whoosh on day 7 so I lost 1kg/2.2 lb the first week which I am pleased with. Definitely doing better on a higher dose.

andadietcoke · 17/03/2021 10:01

I've got my monthly check at Lloyds on Friday. The scales are being very stubborn but I keep telling myself that 16lbs in a month is great and I should totally take it even if I've only lost a pound in the last two weeks.

I'm not sure whether I subscribe to 'starvation mode'. It would explain a lot, but at the same time, diets like Fast 800, Cambridge, Lighter Life, Exante etc are all lower calorie. As are bariatric diets. And people with eating disorders don't stop losing weight...

But I'm persevering. Tracking everything and drinking a lot of water. Going up to 3 tonight. A friend who was a few weeks ahead said that 3 stopped her stall so fingers crossed. I guess as it's the 'therapeutic dose' it makes sense. Not looking forward to another week of brain fog while I get used to it though. Today I feel normal for the first time in a week!

Chrissols · 17/03/2021 10:24

Silly question, but does it tend to sting more as you increase the dose? I am due to increase for the first time tomorrow, thank goodness as the scales have not moved in four days and I'm only in week one!!

andadietcoke · 17/03/2021 11:03

I haven't noticed it stinging more. I have one spot on my right side that stings but everywhere else is fine!!

Chrissols · 17/03/2021 11:15

@andadietcoke how strange, it stings on the top of my right thigh but not my left. Tried in my stomach for the first time today and didn't feel a thing so might stick to that for a while, and who knows, I may even lose a pound or two (or ten)

shutterteal · 17/03/2021 11:29

Always do my tummy. No sting at all, in fact I can barely feel it.
I've lost 4.75kg in 6 days which I am thrilled with. Up the dose tomorrow so hope it continues.

HowlingGale · 17/03/2021 12:23

shutterteal Wow that's amazing. Must be so motivating to achieve such a great loss in a week! I am very envious. I started on February 25th weighing 16 stone4. After two weeks I'd lost 8 pounds taking me down to 15 stone 10, which is still a good loss, though not quite so dramatic as yours! . I'm waiting till Friday for my third weekly weigh in, fingers crossed for at least 2lbs. But last night i went a bit mad, had half a bottle of wine and about 6 thorntons chocolates, then had appalling heartburn/acid reflux last night, terrible night's sleep, so feel vaguely hungover and exhausted today, and as a result feeling abnormally hungry. I won't be doing that again in a hurry.

Chrissols · 17/03/2021 15:05

@shutterteal I cannot wait to be able to say I have lost that amount, that is not far off a stone in six days!!

shutterteal · 17/03/2021 15:08

@Chrissols
I am totally totally totally amazed.
I'm sure you'll catch up soon.

Chrissols · 17/03/2021 15:09

@shutterteal I certainly hope so, I would love a stone in a month
