Hello, can I join you? NC'd for this but I've been on MN for 13+ years :) I've read the thread, some very helpful info, thank you!
I ordered online and did first jab on Thursday night. I wasn't even convinced I'd done it properly as I didn't feel a thing. I had very little appetite yesterday, had some toast late morning, dinner last night, only ate about half of what I'd usually polish off, a small G&T, light on the G, and as I was a bit peckish later in the evening, a slice of toast and a small hot choc before bed. SW was 15st 2 lbs, heaviest ever, I weighed this morning and almost 5lbs down. I wasn't hungry at all this morning, although I woke up with a headache and felt a bit like I had a mild hangover. I made pancakes for DS, normally I'd have at least one as well, but just didn't fancy it.
I've been overweight for as long as I can remember, the fat lass at school, experienced years of shame from my family (who are well-meaning but can be brutal!), less overweight at times than others and even was a 'normal' weight when I was aged 16 - 21. I lost around 3 stone when I was going through medical treatment a few years ago, ironically when I was most ill, I looked better than in years! That loss has crept back on thanks to some of the long term meds I'm on, early menopause and, let's be honest, mostly due to sitting on my backside for most of lockdown.
I love food, I love cooking, I love eating out, and portion size and unhealthy snacks, particularly in the evening, are my downfall. I'm aiming to stick to two portion controlled meals a day, up my water intake, take my vits and supplements - omegas/fish oil, collagen powder, vit d and calcium, curcumin and a general multi vit, plus psyllium husk capsules to avoid getting bunged up!! My first target is to lose 2 stone to get from 'obese' to 'overweight' and then another 2 stone to get to 'normal' BMI.
I had covid last year, during which I had no appetite at all - hungry but couldn't face food - and lost almost a stone in a week, so I know it can be done, although most of that stone went straight back on over Christmas.
I see that some people have taken a break, I'm hoping to go away for a week in October (restrictions permitting, etc) and I'd prefer not to take sax with me - has anyone taken a week off and how did you get on afterwards?
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
