You are doing it right, if you turned to 0.6 very slowly you would realize it is 6 clicks. I too just turn it to the desired number without counting.
I've been on holiday and couldn't take the pen with me, and it has made me realize that Saxenda really isn't a long term fix unless you can afford to use it for life. I wake up famished and don't feel full unless I have a really big meal. I think I'm going to put back everything that I lost 😢

OnCallAgain · 31/07/2021 16:20

It’s like any weight loss thing. No such thing as a quick or permanent fix. I’m just hoping I can lose enough so I can either go swimming or running. I can do neither at this size. Also I’d like to retrain myself into eating a normal size portion and break the constant nibbling habit. Although after 30 years of crap eating habits this may take a while.

OnCallAgain · 02/08/2021 10:46

A problem I should have foreseen.
Night shifts, lack of sleep and the need to eat to cope with it.
And now I feel like crap because I’m tired and need/want something nice.

I have been struggling this week. It definitely doesn’t ‘stop’ you from eating if that makes sense … but makes a calorie deficit easier to stick to on the days you have the willpower ! I have had a terrible couple of days

I agree with this, but it also stops me sooner. I had a single Pringle yesterday. AND STOPPED. I can't ever remember doing that before, unless I was ill. The night before I had one Oreo (not unheard of to eat a packet in one go).

Saxenda for me is just routine now. Black coffee for breakfast, light lunch (ryvita thins, light philly, smoked salmon), and then a full Gousto meal for dinner (normally 600-800 calories). Penguin biscuit while watching tv later.

After 5 months I'm just over 3.5 stone down, and very nearly 12 stone something. BMI of 28 so still a way to go. I've switched to buying online rather than Lloyds because at some point I want to try going down the doses and maybe try a 0.6 dose to see if it can help me maintain for a while.

Lndnmummy · 09/08/2021 12:49

Can I ask how many calories you guys net on roughly a day?

Now (5 months in), 1200-1400. For a long time (probably months 2-4) it was more like 1000-1200 and when I was moving up the titration doses I was struggling to manage more than about 800 most days.

Most days now I could eat more but I knew that willpower would be required at some point! I've lost 50lbs since the end of February.

Elflockbubble · 14/08/2021 00:21

You have done so well !! Amazing loss and will power to boot go you.

I know what you mean about the stopping, I’m the same with ice cream (and Pringles or should that be a Pringle!) the kids had a buffet tea and I had just one and couldn’t believe it.

I feel when I’m in the wrong mindset I definitely overeat so hoping it continues to keep me in this mindset.

Definitely a lot less binging since taking it. I’m on 2.4 now (third day in - should have been 3 but did 1.8 and 3 clicks)

I have THE WORST sulphur burps. This is coming from someone who’s not much of a burper at all. It’s bloody disgusting !

I used to read these threads thinking oh I just have missed that side effect but no they are here and horrendous ! Yuck

andadietcoke · 14/08/2021 13:02

I get sulphur burps too but seem to be linked to TOTM and fortunately only last a few hours at a time. Drinking water seems to help.

I saw 12 stone on the scales this morning for the first time in god knows how long. Just need to lose a couple more in the next two weeks so I don't come back off the cruise at 13 stone something as I know I'll struggle with that mentally!!

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 14/08/2021 19:11

Could l ask a question?

I started last week. I cannot sleep at all even though on .6. My mind is racing all night. I’m not usually like this! Other side effects have worn off.

Is this a normal thing? I just can’t function I’m so tired.

What time do you inject? I've heard insomnia can be a side effect. I inject at bedtime so it's not something I've experienced - the advice I've seen is normally to switch to evening injections so hopefully you're not doing that already!
ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 14/08/2021 20:03

I inject in the morning. Surely switching to night would make it worse?

andadietcoke · 14/08/2021 21:04

No, because you sleep through any side effects. That's the theory anyway! I know for me I've not had any impact on my sleep at all.

MissBridgetJones · 17/08/2021 11:49

Total newbie here; my pen arrived this morning.

Top tips please... is a goal of max. 1400 calories too many?

Do I take at night? In the morning?

Do I need to get some tablets for acid reflux?

Terrified - but excited!!!

MissBridgetJones · 17/08/2021 11:51

Meant to ask about exercise... Is everyone finding exercise ok when they have no appetite?

MagnificentMoustache · 27/08/2021 21:15

What online pharmacy are you all using? Has anyone used the London Slimming Clinic? I’m seriously considering giving this a whirl. I’m just trying to decide how much to order upfront and who to use. I would appreciate any advice or recommendations Smile

QueenBee52 · 27/08/2021 21:17

how are you ladies getting on ?

are you happy with the results 🌸

MissBridgetJones · 27/08/2021 22:04

Hi @MagnificentMoustache

I have my first pen in the fridge- ready for a Monday start. Because you start on a low dose I only ordered one to start with to see how I get on.

I really want to focus on getting my food right and getting off my lockdown lockdown bottom so keen to hear about exercise

MissBridgetJones · 27/08/2021 22:05

I used Simple online pharmacy

QueenBee52 · 28/08/2021 00:40

@MissBridgetJones

I used Simple online pharmacy
I wish you luck, I've not tried it yet, I'm still getting my thyroid medication sorted, but hope to try this soon. Flowers
JetSetWilly · 28/08/2021 10:24

Good morning all. After reading this thread I've ordered 5 pens which should arrive Tuesday or Wednesday. This thread is filled with so much useful advice thank you. The only thing I can't get my head around is how to incorporate a new way of eating and exercising. I really want this to be a lifestyle change so want to take medication alongside making real changes to the way I eat. I've seen fast800 which I guess sounds doable. Or one meal a day? Any ideas? As for exercise I usually just run+walk but wonder if I should start thinking about more weights less cardio. Any ideas and thoughts would be gratefully received. Wishing you a lovely weekend Flowers

MagnificentMoustache · 28/08/2021 11:38

Thanks MissBridgetJones I’ve placed an order for 2 pens with online pharmacy and I’ll see how I get on.

Exercise is something I’m a bit more sorted with. We started with at least an hour walk every day. More recently we’ve joined a gym with tennis, squash and badminton courts as a family and we go at least three times a week with the kids.

I just never manage to get everything aligned all at once regarding food and exercise. Often one is going well and the other completely off track, hopefully Saxenda will help me reset. I’m hoping I’m ok with the daily injection, I’m a nurse but it’s completely different stabbing yourself Grin

raver76 · 28/08/2021 17:29

Hey everyone, I've been using Saxenda for five days and I always take it in the morning. Every day I've been on this, at around 5pm, I get bad heartburn. I'm sure I read on here that Saxenda is at its peak after about 11 hours of taking it. Do you think this is why I'm getting the heartburn at the same time each day?

Any advice or help would be greatly received and I hope you're all having a lovely weekend. Xxx

NautaOcts · 29/08/2021 14:04

Been reading this thread with a lot of interest as considering giving saxenda a go.
I have a tendency to binge, but also just always eat more than I need even if its ok ‘healthy stuff’. Have explored reasons behind emotional eating etc but I think I’m just addicted to the rush that having something sweet/carby gives me.
Low carb had worked short term in the past and I loved feeling like I could ‘take or leave’ food. But I’m off the wagon at the moment and really struggling to get on.
Can anyone identify with this sort of eating pattern?

Also wondered what is people’s end game?
If you’ve responded to it, Are you worried about regaining if and when you stop?

I think my bmi is currently 31, even with low carb I couldn’t get it below 29.

I’m 40 and haven’t had a check up but suspect blood pressure is on the high side.
I also start to get knee pain at this weight.

Any recommendations on best (cheapest) place to source?

JetSetWilly · 31/08/2021 16:51

Hi @NautaOcts, I ordered from pharmacy2u and used code sax25 and 5 pens cost £243. @raver76 how are you getting on with your heartburn? Any better? Apparently my pens will arrive Monday latest so still waiting for delivery. Excited but nervous - I've been very conscious of my eating this week and I just graze so much my blood sugar is probably never low. I have also been reading Fast800 which has been very interesting and will probably try to follow this in combination with the pens.
