Update- I am now, after around 8 weeks at 2.4mg. A lot of the side effects have gone, and I find my appetite is stable & much diminished. I am continuing to lose weight.
I moved my dosage up because the appetite suppressant effect diminished. I reckon I will go to 3.0mg next week. I have 7 more kg to lose. So I suggest considering following the recommendation to increase to 3.0, as you do adjust to it, side effects diminish and weight lose continues. Don’t judge it by your first couple of weeks. For example, Iam no longer tired, and I was very much so at first.

can someone explain what happens through Lloyds ? Do you do an on line consultation ? do you get pens by post ?

andadietcoke · 27/06/2021 08:01

@Unsure33

can someone explain what happens through Lloyds ? Do you do an on line consultation ? do you get pens by post ?
No, you go to an actual pharmacy. They weigh you, measure HR and BP and talk through your previous attempts at weight loss. They then talk you through the programme. You pay your £260 and then they order the meds. Mine normally arrive same day or next day - pens, needles, sharps bin and a wallet to keep the pen and needles in. Three pens for the first month as you move up the dosing schedule, five pens a month after that.

For the first month you get weekly phone calls with the pharmacist and an in-person check up every month to weigh you and see if you want to continue. You also have access to the Liva app and their health coaches - the first meeting is a zoom meeting and after that they send personalised videos and messages and respond to your queries (once a week).

Gameofbones · 27/06/2021 10:53

I ordered mine via pharmacy 4 u. Filled out a form, paid and got the pens the next day. I’m 8 days in and have lost 8.6lbs.

jasminoide · 28/06/2021 21:41

I just ordered my first pen. BMI of 35.7. I'm not going to be able to afford it long term, hoping to stay on the 0.6 does as long as possible. Just hoping that the good start will kick start me, it's sooo disheartening to diet ruthlessly all week to discover you've lost half a pound.

SandandFog · 28/06/2021 22:11

I've been taking Saxenda for 1 month. I've lots 7lb in that time. I stayed at 0.6 for 3 weeks then up to 1.2.

It's not amazing weight loss for me for the money but I'll stick with it for now, I'm feeling it does help cravings for me.

HmmmHashtag · 29/06/2021 15:42

Hello all, I'm back and restarting. Due to some absolutely horrendous unforseen circumstances, I decided to take a break, so have restarted today back at 0.6

Hoping the restart will yield fast results!

jasminoide · 29/06/2021 16:13

For those who ordered from pharmacy 4 u, how long did it take for your order to be approved? It's been 24 hours for me and no word yet.

linerforlife · 30/06/2021 06:56

Really pleased to have found this thread! I'm one week in and have lost 5.5lbs. I have around 6 stone to lose so I'm really pleased to have got off to a decent start. I don't feel the absolute lack of appetite I was expecting, but I haven't binged on food uncontrollably all week whereas before I was doing that every day. I've had three meals a day and been happier with MUCH smaller portions and have realised how much of my eating is mindless snacking in between work calls etc. It's really good to read how much success you've all had so far.

jasminoide · 01/07/2021 20:33

Just did my first injection, looking forward to waking up tomorrow not being hungry (hopefully!)

linerforlife · 02/07/2021 06:55

Good luck @jasminoide ! I went round M&S food hall yesterday and literally didn't fancy a THING in there. I left with just watermelon slices for DD. Such a weird experience! Usually I would have spent about £60 so the first pen has just paid for itself 😂

Lndnmummy · 02/07/2021 10:52

Oh hi everyone! I’m starting this on Monday. Is it ok if I join?

jasminoide · 02/07/2021 12:53

Welcome @Lndnmummy. I started last night, and within an hour had really bad acid reflux. I'm on anti-sickness tablets for a health condition so I imagine if I wasn't on those I would have been sick.Woke up today and felt pretty normal, I still got hungry, but no major sugar cravings which is unusual. I usually have a slice of cake for breakfast Blush

DragonMamma · 02/07/2021 15:19

I’m starting tonight too - caught sight of myself recently and I’ve just gone fatter and fatter so something needs to give.

I’m taking it before bed in case I feel sick but I have some anti emetics if I need them!

I have no idea what I weigh because I’m too scared to see, so I’m just going to go on my clothes until I feel a bit braver.

Does it stop you wanting wine? Hoping so!

jasminoide · 02/07/2021 17:17

I just had dinner - some salmon, about 3 broccoli florets and a heaped spoon of salad and I am STUFFED. It takes a lot to fill me usually so I assume it has kicked in.

Lndnmummy · 02/07/2021 19:44

Thank you for the welcome, I’m looking forward to joining you. I was meant to have my appointment with Lloyds today but it’s been moved to Wednesday instead. Looking forward to joining you all.

jasminoide · 02/07/2021 20:34

I'm still not hungry but trying to resist the sugar craving I'm having. I can do this....

andadietcoke · 02/07/2021 21:37

@jasminoide I ate a creme egg a day at the beginning - I just counted it in my calories. The joy of this has been that I haven't cut anything out at all. I've just eaten a packet of strawberry pencils - counted them, all good.

jasminoide · 02/07/2021 21:43

@andadietcoke I've just had a cappucino and a toffee Grin Before I would have had sugar in the coffee and at least 5 toffees, so still feel like i'm doing well. I'm going for a high fat, low carb diet so not really calorie counting.

andadietcoke · 02/07/2021 23:44

Ah I see. I've thought about LCHF because it's always suited me in the past but I'm trying really hard to eat everything so I don't feel restricted and less likely to bounce. Sorry - it was awful advice to tell you to eat something sweet then!

jasminoide · 03/07/2021 16:02

I woke up very early this morning with severe reflux, I had to take one of dd's omeprazole. I couldn't bear the thought of my usual morning coffee, so forced myself to eat an apple instead. At lunch I went out for a pre arranged Chinese but could only manage a very small plate. If things continue like this I'm hoping to lose a decent amount in the first week.

DragonMamma · 03/07/2021 21:53

No reflux here but I already take lansoprazole so maybe that’s why.

Definitely been less hungry today. I had brunch of eggs and beans with some toast and then a couple of ryvitas and Philly early evening. Having some wine to watch the football but don’t feel like I want to snack on crisps and nuts which makes a pleasant change.

ineedaholidayandwine · 03/07/2021 22:02

How do you get Saxenda?

andadietcoke · 03/07/2021 22:39

@ineedaholidayandwine

How do you get Saxenda?
Lloyds and Well supply it as part of their medicated weight loss programmes. Some people buy it from online pharmacies. A lucky few get it prescribed by a tier 3 weight management programme.
cleaning247 · 04/07/2021 10:18

Did anyone find that the injections were quite painful at 3.0? All the others I've found find but at 3.0 it really stings??
