I did my first jab today. It was easy to do and painless. I've had no symptoms but can't decide if it's helped my cravings and eating. I've eaten a lot less today, no refined sugar and I've had no cravings to binge but not sure if it's the usual 'first day of a diet' mentality or if it's the Saxenda.

Weighed myself this morning for the first time in a long time, it's horrendous and my bmi is 44 Blush. I hope this works for me!

Atalantea · 30/05/2021 22:32

warning - don't do the jab and then neck a bottle of wine with a friend (one each) I was ill all day after Friday!!

I drank a load of gin on Saturday 2 hours after my jab and I ended up on the toilet for many hours Blush
SandandFog · 31/05/2021 18:36

Day two for me. I took the jab at 7am and felt good all day, could really have left my lunch that I'd taken to work but had the salad and chickpea part (left bread I'd taken) to make sure I'd eaten something.

However, after work I really felt like eating, it's typically a difficult time for me when I way overeat.

I think maybe I need to try and take the jab later in the day.

What times does everyone else do?

lostitall · 31/05/2021 19:01

Had a good session for the first time in a while the other day and oh my god I was still sick. And it was all my breakfast that came up excuse the tmi but this was a good 12 hours later- does it stop your digestion?

HmmmHashtag · 01/06/2021 20:32

I've found I'm still over eating. I've upped my dose today, hoping it makes a difference.

I do 2pm now which seems to mean I don't go mad at dinner but also don't wake starving

SandandFog · 02/06/2021 22:02

I am still unsure how this is working for me. I have no sickness or any side effects, I have been tracking calories in MFP and managing to stick to around 1600 a day no problem. This is pretty unusual for me, I consistently overeat or binge. But I'm able to eat everything I have on my plate.

I've noticed though it's easy to stop eating after meals and easy to ignore any cravings.

I'm only on day 4.

Atalantea · 02/06/2021 22:03

i had a very eaty day today, and dont really want to go up a dose, as want the pen to last as long as possible

if i have to buy another one, i'll probably have to tell dh (not that its a problem apart from the you-bought-WHAT-off the internet....!)

Atalantea · 03/06/2021 19:51

Question, when I take out the needle, there is a drop of liquid on the end. Does this happen to anyone else?

I insert the needle
Press the button on the end
Hold in for 10 seconds ish (at least)
Then take it out

SandandFog · 03/06/2021 21:25

Yes that happens to me as well and sometimes a drop where I inserted the needle. I hate to waste it!

SandandFog · 03/06/2021 21:29

I have such a dry mouth all day. It's a weird dryness, not really helped with water. It's odd, think it must be a symptom

Chrissols · 04/06/2021 11:21

I have just re-started at 0.6 on Wednesday having had a couple of weeks off as it seemed to stop working.......here's hoping......

HowlingGale · 04/06/2021 14:31

chrissols did you notice your appetite returning after coming off the drug? Or you say you thought it had stopped having any effect so maybe You didn't notice any difference? My weight loss is very slow and I feel a bit despondent about it . Was watching that Michael Mosley programme last night and some of the participants had lost over a stone in only 3 weeks by just diet while it's taken me 13 weeks to lose a stone and a half and that's with saxenda! So I'm averaging at 1.5lbs a week. Still I guess if I keep plugging away I'll have lost nearly another half stone by the end of each month.

Chrissols · 04/06/2021 15:01

@HowlingGale yes, my appetite had already returned, although I have not put any weight back on as was very strict. I got to the stage where I was only losing 1lb a fortnight so thought I'd try a restart. Started at 0.6 on Wed, felt nothing, same again yesterday.....today I cant keep off the loo so looks like something may be kicking in 🤞🤞🤞

HowlingGale · 04/06/2021 15:09

That's interesting! I was thinking of coming off it for a couple of weeks to save on the expense if nothing else - and to see if I could cope without the crutch of saxenda. I was thinking some of the healthier eating habits I've managed to put in place might have stuck by now and that I may be able to do it without the drug. Probably deluding myself tho!! Anyway chrissols let us know whether you notice your appetite being suppressed again after all your loo action Smile

Chrissols · 04/06/2021 16:32

@HowlingGale I will

andadietcoke · 05/06/2021 10:23

Hello! Just had a week in Anglesey and London. No scales (for weighing food or me) and in London was in a hotel and have pretty much eaten what I fancied. Net impact -0.2 lbs. Normally a week like that would be 1/2 a stone on and I would be furious at myself and demotivated. Can't quite believe it. So back to Wales this week but with scales and back on it. Tantalisingly close to 13 stone something and not that far off from being clinically overweight.

That sounds brilliant, well done!
Chrissols · 07/06/2021 10:24

I am 0.5lb off being just overweight instead of that horrible word obese......hopefully tomorrow!!!!! @HowlingGale don't want to tempt fate, but the re-start may have been beneficial as have lost 1lb a day for the last three days which is the most in weeks/months even.

@Atalantea @HmmmHashtag thank you - don't think I will ever be in the 'healthy' weight range, but aiming for a another stone and I will be happy......I never thought I would get this far
