Chrissols great to hear that you are finally getting some good results! 18lb loss in five weeks is pretty good going!

Shutter You are doing amazingly well and to lose a stone and a half so quickly must be really motivating.

I am meant to be going on holiday at the beginning of July which is about 11 weeks away (Covid permitting of course, so not raising my hopes too much) and would love to lose another stone and a half by then - at 2lbs a week that's not unrealistic. My weight loss has been slower than some of you, partly, I think, because I have been staying on a much lower dose, but I now realise that's daft and I need to up it to start getting the full benefits. So for the past few days I've gone up from 1.2 to 1.5, and today moved up to 1.8. Bit nervous about side effects, but so far so good. Anyway, I've lost about a stone to date (since starting on Sax 7 weeks ago), and hopefully by the time I go on holiday I will be two and a half stone down. Still not exactly rocking a bikini,, but a huge improvement on when I started!!

andadietcoke · 14/04/2021 10:25

Hi everyone!

@kitz90 I take it at bedtime - initially it was to to avoid side effects and I always said I'd swap to the morning when I was up to the full dose but I'm going to wait until there are any changes in my appetite.

At the moment I don't really eat until late lunch and then have dinner around 6 - I am hungry by then and kind of need to me or I wouldn't be getting enough calories in.

I have my 8 week check on Friday. On my scales I think I've lost at least another half a stone - my 4 week check was in the middle of my 3 week stall. Their scales seem to be magic though so I'll wait and see. Have my my first Liva app coach meeting on Friday too. Has anyone done it and knows what to expect? I'm fairly sure he'll tell me I'm not eating enough / the right things.

Chrissols · 14/04/2021 10:26

@shutterteal snap, I am an 18 but only 5’4”. I too would be happy with a 14

stormsurfer · 14/04/2021 13:17

Hi all, I'm back from my first appointment and ready to start! You all sound like you're doing so well. The pharmacist said to try it at bedtime so that I sleep through the worst of the side effects, but then I wondered if I'd be better taking it after my evening meal so that i don't want to snack in the evening which is my worse time for eating. He said up to me to try and see. What would you advise? How long does it take from the jab to the side effects happen? And do they start to wear off after a certain amount of time?

shutterteal · 14/04/2021 13:24

Sounds like we are all aiming for summer! I live in a hot climate so live in a swimsuit and beach dress most days. Totally mortifying if someone drops by unexpectedly and catches me.
I'll be traveling back to the UK, I hope, in June, and want to buy a whole new wardrobe of UK friendly clothes. We bought a house there last year with the plan of living between two countries, obviously hasn't happened yet but I'm hopeful.
Having a goal really helps, doesn't it.

shutterteal · 14/04/2021 13:28

@stormsurfer
Welcome.
I didn't have any side effects at first. And honestly haven't found any difference what time I take it. Hopefully you'll be surprised how little you want to snack, or even eat. It just doesn't have the appeal and I find I'm full very quickly.

stormsurfer · 14/04/2021 13:41

Thanks @shutterteal. That would be wonderful if i feel no side effects. I love your goal of feeling wonderful in summer clothes. I don't think I'll manage that for this year. I have at least 80 maybe even 100 pounds to lose. But at least I'm starting!

andadietcoke · 14/04/2021 15:00

@stormsurfer yay! I take it at bedtime and have been really lucky with side effects. I kind of like that it means that by 6pm I'm getting hungry because it means I actually get some calories in

stormsurfer · 14/04/2021 15:03

That's amazing it curbs your appetite until 6pm! I'll try mine tonight at bedtime then.

andadietcoke · 14/04/2021 16:32

I do eat a small lunch normally but I've been run off my feet with work today and haven't eaten at all and it's 4.30.

stormsurfer · 14/04/2021 16:41

Before this, I'm normally quite good at not being hungry until about 5. But then once I start eating, I can't stop!

stormsurfer · 14/04/2021 16:44

Maybe a stupid question- how do you know where to inject to avoid a muscle?

HowlingGale · 14/04/2021 16:56

*Stormsurfer" I don't think it matters if you do inject into a muscle, its your veins and arteries you want to avoid!
Personally I have got plenty of belly fat to inject it into, so i just grab a handful and stab the needle in. So many rolls that there's no way the needle could find any lurking stomach muscles anyway!!

Shutter are you on the full dose now, and if so how long have you been on it for? Did you notice a difference going up from 2.4 to 3?

stormsurfer · 14/04/2021 17:02

@HowlingGale haha! I have many stomach fat rolls too! It's just it said not to inject into a muscle and said you could do it on your upper arm or thigh and I thought I might have some muscles lurking there somewhere!

shutterteal · 14/04/2021 17:26

@HowlingGale
I'm on 2.4 still. Going to go to 2.4 plus 5 clicks at the weekend. I'll let you know how that is.
Is 3 actually more effective at weight loss? Does anyone know?

Such a pity we can't all have reveal this summer!!

HowlingGale · 14/04/2021 17:51

Shutterteal did you notice much of a differnce going up to 2.4? I've only just moved up to 1.8 today,, and don;t feel that hungry considering all I've eaten today is a slice of ham for lunch plus some tomato salad, and a couple of ryvita and cream cheese.

Chrissols · 14/04/2021 18:01

I went onto 3 a week ago and after weight not moving for ten days prior to this I was delighted to see the lbs dropping again

andadietcoke · 14/04/2021 19:58

@Chrissols

I went onto 3 a week ago and after weight not moving for ten days prior to this I was delighted to see the lbs dropping again
Exactly the same thing happened to me, with a similarly long stall.
Wizzbangfizz · 14/04/2021 19:59

Placemarking I've taken this before and am considering starting again!

andadietcoke · 16/04/2021 12:47

8-week check today - exactly 2 stone off. Only another half a stone since my last check, but I stalled for about three weeks so I suppose it's not so bad!!

Also had my first Liva coach appt. I liked it and he's given me some useful goals to work on (namely: eat more!!)

HowlingGale · 16/04/2021 13:06

dietcoke amazing result, well done!! You must be thrilled! How many sizes have you gone down do you think?

Chrissols · 16/04/2021 13:10

I felt like crying this morning, stood on the scales and 1.5lb up....no idea why as definitely haven’t done anything I shouldn’t 😥😥

andadietcoke · 16/04/2021 15:00

@Chrissols when did you last weigh in? It could be anything - extra sodium, extra water, time of the month, time for a poo

@HowlingGale honestly don't know because I'm still living in leggings. My jeggings are big but I tried the next size down in proper jeans and they still felt tight. I think it's mainly come off my waist.

Chrissols · 16/04/2021 15:04

@andadietcoke I actually weigh daily and this is the first time it has actually gone up - it has stuck to the same many a time and for days on end, but to go up is completely devastating.

kitz90 · 17/04/2021 10:30

Hi everyone sorry for the radio silence. Work has been mega busy but I'm just catching up on reading this thread. It sounds as though its going really well for a lot of you and that give me hope.

Chrissols I have 3 stone to lose. This is day 5 for me. Days 2 and 3 were a bit of a shocker in terms of the fatigue. I also felt anxious and nauseated but everything has subsided now. My appetite is suppressed. I am still hungry but I don't have the mad desperate cravings, there's a lid on it if that makes sense. I imagine this is what a normal appetite feels like. The scales haven't budged which is disappointing but I'm hoping for a whoosh effect because it would be a massive motivator for me if the scales showed a loss!
