Well done everyone for persevering. I’ve completed 9 months now and 5 1/2 stone loss. Weight loss very very slow now. I put on a few lb on Easter weekend but they have come off again.

My biggest challenge is finance. As I said up thread I approached the gp but they said no. It’s so expensive. I can sort of afford it but have kids and feel guilty. My DH is so supportive and is happy for me to continue.

I decided to go back to 1.8 from 3. 1.8 was my most successful dose and so far so good. Just want to make those pens last! I think I’m going to complete a year and see if I can get to 7 stone loss.

HowlingGale · 09/04/2021 10:57

Hi everyone, hope you are all making good progress with your respective Saxenda journeys! My weight loss is very very slow, (down by just over a stone) but am still only on 1.2 dose after 6 weeks, so thinking I need to up it a bit. Had a bit of a chocolate binge last night, so need to get back on the straight and narrow again. I now need to buy some more pens, and can't remember where I bought them from the last time, but they were the cheapest I could find, at about £50 each. Any recommendations where I should buy them from?? Thanks in advance for any help!

notapizzaeater · 09/04/2021 11:34

I got mine from burwash pharmacy but lots of people use doctors4u

Chrissols · 09/04/2021 11:36

@HowlingGale your weight loss is the same as mine, 15lb in five weeks, although haven't lost at all this past week and no cheating. I have just gone up to 3 and have no side effects whatsoever so just wondering if I am past these now, or whether I should be moving down to 2.4

HowlingGale · 09/04/2021 11:39

Thanks pizza I'll see which is cheaper!
Chrissols I have been cheating a bit, but to be honest still eating less than usual. So I guess the weight loss for me will be slower than those people managing to stick to a lower calorie count. I guess we just have to persevere, as a stone in five weeks is better than losing nothing! And in another six weeks we might have lost another stone, so we just have to be patient.

Chrissols · 10/04/2021 09:53

@HowlingGale I hope you're right, I am getting really disheartened as the scales seem to be stuck. The pharmacist looked very disappointed when I said the weight isn't moving at the moment, almost as if he thought I must be cheating, but I am not.

HowlingGale · 10/04/2021 11:18

chrissols yes, i've been feeling a bit dispirited too and sneaking in the odd creme egg of an evening. But need to pull myself together and get a bit more focused again. As I said I was only on 1.2 dose, so have increased to 1.5 today, and just received another 3 pens this morning. I plan to phase up to 1.8 next week and see whether that has any impact on my urge to snack in the evening. I'm good as gold during the day, it's always after I've had my (perfectly sensible) evening meal that I start craving hot cross buns, chocolate, etc etc . Has anyone else noticed that Sax has helped with sweet cravings, or has it just impacted generally on your appetite?

For those who haven't read this, this is interesting article on how Saxenda worked for Sarah Vine

HowlingGale · 10/04/2021 11:21

whatsthestory OP how are you getting on? Haven't heard from you for a while!

notapizzaeater · 10/04/2021 13:07

Got weighed this morning, 1.2lb off this week, 51.6 in total.

I’m having a shiny new knee next week so got to come off it for a few weeks ! Hoping not too much damage will be done. I’ve new pens ready in the fridge to jump back on when I can.

Gillian2266 · 10/04/2021 13:43

What sort of injection is it for the weight loss at Lloyd's? Is it more like an epipen?

notapizzaeater · 11/04/2021 14:36

It's a pen filled with a tiny thin needle that doesn't hurt at all.

stormsurfer · 11/04/2021 15:28

Hi all, I am thinking of doing this and have an appointment at Lloyd on Wednesday. Can I join this group, please?

notapizzaeater · 11/04/2021 16:58

Jump on in @stormsurfer x

stormsurfer · 11/04/2021 17:28

Thank you! So many questions, but I will see what they say on Wednesday.

andadietcoke · 11/04/2021 21:34

@stormsurfer give Lloyds a ring and make sure they have a record of your appointment and they actually do Saxenda at that pharmacy (unless you booked by phone or in person, obviously). They seem to have an issue with their booking system.

Good luck with it, and ask any questions you might have!

andadietcoke · 11/04/2021 21:37

My weight loss seems to be continuing. Total weight loss is still a bit uncertain because of all the scale changing, but I think I've lost another half a stone in the last 3 weeks so based on Lloyds weigh-ins that should take me to over 2 stone in 8 weeks which I'm delighted with.

stormsurfer · 11/04/2021 21:45

@andadietcoke thank you for that info. I just booked online so I will call them tomorrow.

Fabulous weight loss! Well done!

Chrissols · 11/04/2021 22:03

Finally, after a week of the scales being stuck, 2lb down today

kitz90 · 13/04/2021 11:57

Hi everyone! I thought I would join you having taken my first ever dose of saxenda (0.6ml) today. I am 40 years old, 5 foot 3 and weigh 13 stone.

Chrissols · 13/04/2021 12:47

Hi @kitz90, I am just coming up to 5 weeks now, on 3.0, 5'4" and was 14st 9lb. Weighed this morning and 13st 5lb. I had a week on 2.4 and the latter part of 1.8 where I didn't lose a single pound, but since getting up to 3.0 it seems to have started moving again thank goodness. Good luck with it all, this site is great for advice.

shutterteal · 14/04/2021 07:34

Morning all
You all seem to be doing really well. Congratulations.
I think I've been on Saxenda 5 weeks now and have lost 10.2 kg or just over 22lbs. I'm on 2.4 now. Slowly increased as I was getting headaches but that's settled now.
When I started this journey my chin rested on my chest, my stomach was huge. Whilst still a fatty I can see my curves returning and no more resting chin. I am still disgusted with myself for letting myself get so fat.
I didn't want anyone to see me as it was/is so embarrassing and shameful that I became so fat.
Hopeful that by June I'll be slightly happy with myself.
How do you all feel?

kitz90 · 14/04/2021 09:44

Good morning, well done to you all on the weight loss. It gives me hope to hear how others are getting on. This is only day 2 for me. What time of day are people taking their saxenda? I went with 11am yesterday and couldn't stay awake beyond 9pm. I'm wondering if there would be a benefit to taking it at night instead.

Chrissols · 14/04/2021 10:00

I take mine first thing in the morning as that seems to control my evening hunger the best. I have always picked on sweet things in the evenings but haven’t touched anything now for five weeks. It does make me tired, but i am tired on it whatever time I take it, my one side effect that will not go.
@shutterteal I can’t wait to be able to wear something I feel good in

shutterteal · 14/04/2021 10:09

@Chrissols
What size clothes are you now? I'm an 18, or was 5 weeks ago. And 5' 7''. Hoping for size 14 in June. Would be delighted with that.
What's your aim?
@kitz90 Welcome. Have you got a lot to lose?
