@HowlingGale
You're doing great too.
It's lovely to share this journey on this thread.

MolotovMocktail · 17/03/2021 15:14

This is a really weird question but does saxenda make anyone else feel cold?! Since I’ve started it (about 8 days ago) I feel freezing all the time even though my family don’t seem to think it’s cold at all. Just wondered if it might be related.

Chrissols · 17/03/2021 15:41

@MolotovMocktail definitely!

MolotovMocktail · 17/03/2021 16:06

@Chrissols that’s really interesting. Sitting here working in my coat! Brrr

Chrissols · 17/03/2021 16:08

@MolotovMocktail I have the fan heater on blowing right at me

andadietcoke · 17/03/2021 22:20

Freezing too. Currently wrapped in an Unhide Marshmallow blanket but it's normally an Oodie. I think that's a calorie deficit thing rather than Saxenda though. I googled last week and apparently 10 minutes of shivering is the equivalent of 30 minutes of exercise though...

Miltonkeynesmummy · 18/03/2021 07:00

Just finished my third week and lost 1 stone 3lb! I'm beyond thrilled. The best thing has been loosing the constant snacking and feeling guilty. It's given me a real mental break. I've got some much energy and just feel a lot better in spirits. 3 stone to go!

MolotovMocktail · 18/03/2021 09:07

Wow @Miltonkeynesmummy amazing! What dose are you taking?

Miltonkeynesmummy · 18/03/2021 09:37

I'm on 1.2 plus two clicks but I think I'm going to go up a dose. I've been nervous as I was quite sick from going 0.6 to 1.2

Chrissols · 18/03/2021 11:33

@Miltonkeynesmummy when you say your were quite sick going from 0.6 to 1.2, when did you first notice it? I took my first 1.2 three hours ago, and so far nothing, not even appetite suppressant

Miltonkeynesmummy · 18/03/2021 11:46

I was fine on day 1 but that night I had bad tummy troubles all night. Then on day 3 I was very sick straight afterwards. But then felt absolutely fine.

Chrissols · 18/03/2021 11:52

@Miltonkeynesmummy I'm praying something happens soon, 0.6 only seemed to work for me for three days. I can cope with any side effects if I lose some weight - I am trying so hard as well

HowlingGale · 18/03/2021 11:52

I was meant to be weighing myself today but couldn't face it as I doubt I have made much progress this week. Had a shit day yesterday, felt really hungry though that was a combination of barely having slept and vague hangover for necking half a bottle of wine. As a result I ate quite badly - 2 slices of tomato and cheese for breakfast, a buttered bread roll at lunch followed by 4 chocolates, spaghetti carbonara for dinner followed by plate of apple crumble and custard, plus an orange and a banana during the day! Disaster. However, back on track today and feeling a bit better. Would love to hear what you are all eating, especially those of you who are losing so much so fast - MiltonKeynesMummy for starters! What is your typical day's diet?
Usually I have been having no breakfast, maybe some greek yoghurt, fruit, nuts and seeds for lunch, and then a moderate portion of something like homemade chicken curry or stir fry for dinner, with fruit if I'm still hungry. I think I maybe need to up the dose, I'm currently on 1.2.

Miltonkeynesmummy · 18/03/2021 11:53

I didn't feel anything with 0.6 I was still very hungry

SaxendaSue · 18/03/2021 11:56

Hi all,

I'm fairly interested in this but looking at a couple of the websites wonder if I would even be suitable - I had my gallbladder removed 10 years ago and am totally fine now - anyone on it in similar circumstances?

Chrissols · 18/03/2021 12:17

@SaxendaSue I had my gallbladder removed three years ago, and am having further surgery in a couple of months as it turns out they didn't take it all, my doctor is aware of this and said saxenda is fine. @Miltonkeynesmummy I am so happy to hear you say you didn't feel anything on 0.6 as that is me.......I have been so hungry and not losing, although managed to stick to a very strict diet as don't want to put on either. Took 1.2 at 8.00am this morning, hungry at the moment, but hoping something kicks in soon

uggmum · 18/03/2021 14:31

I don't know what I am losing as I am not weighing. I think I am going to have to get on the scales soon though just for motivation m.

I am fasting for 24 hours a day. I am drinking fluids. I have one meal a day at around 6.

I have kept to protein only but last night I had poached eggs on toast and I have felt really hungry. So I think I will stay off the carbs.

I am sticking to less than 1000 calories a day. As few as possible really. My dose is 1.8

shutterteal · 19/03/2021 04:59

Day 8 today and moved to 1.2 yesterday. 5.3kg lost. Long may that continue.
I was 111kg to start with and that shocked the living daylights out of me. My chin was resting on my chest when I sat down!!!
Truly despise the way I look. I'm well groomed, love clothes etc but it all doesn't matter what I show the world, inside I'm so ashamed and repulsed by myself.
How are you all feeling?

Miltonkeynesmummy · 19/03/2021 06:47

Lost another pound today which is great. Was up at 6 and did a quick workout. Now lying in bed with a cup of tea. I feel like I've got home for the first time in a long time that I'm going to really strengthen my body and make it healthy again.

andadietcoke · 19/03/2021 07:58

I'm going to Lloyds today to pick up my next lot and get weighed. Have this irrational fear that I've lost less than I thought because my (new!) scales are broken. Or theirs are. I'm such an idiot.

Up to the full dose now and feeling a bit nauseous in the morning - hopefully as the week goes on it'll improve.

MolotovMocktail · 19/03/2021 08:24

I’m not losing anything at all Sad I’m under massive pressure at work at the moment so I think I am still stress eating a bit, things will be better in a couple of weeks when I can have a break over Easter.

I have been ramping up slowly because I can’t afford time off work feeling nauseous so I will go up to 1.2 or a bit beyond on the weekend and see if that helps. I am still ravenous in the evenings. Congrats to everyone else on their great losses!

HowlingGale · 19/03/2021 10:43

shutterteal that's a fantastic start, well done. How much are you eating every day? Are you being very strict? I've come to the conclusion that I must still be eating too much as I weighed myself and not lost an ounce. I still feel really hungry, In fact this morning I woke up at 7am and felt painfully hungry in a way that I don't normally. I'm still on 1.2 dose after three weeks, maybe I need to think about upping it.

shutterteal · 19/03/2021 11:27

@HowlingGale
I'm not being strict calorie wise, or anything-wise to be honest. But I'm not really hungry or fancy anything in particular.
Coffee, Greek yogurt and fruit for breakfast. Had a hot cross bun too a couple of mornings, and a croissant another.
I make a big salad daily for all the family to have for lunch or snacks. Lots of roasted veggies, fresh tomatoes, leaves, beans, nuts, seeds etc ......different everyday. (My quick tip on the veggies is to roast a prepared box/es of stir fry veggies with a bit of olive oil and lots of seasoning) And I make a fresh dressing for that too. So that's late lunch for me with a few prawns or halloumi etc.
Evening is maybe a very small portion of what everyone is having for dinner....macaroni cheese last night, fajitas another, sole meunière another, etc.
Lots of water.
No alcohol. Just don't want it.
If I'm hungry I'll have a small bowl of cereal.
No snacking.

So no magic diet. In fact probably very diet unfriendly, but it's working. I also walk around 40 mins to an hour daily. And bike ride for an hour 3 times weekly....just a gang of middle aged women tootling around, not a sporty team!
It's clearly the Saxenda that's doing its job for me.

HowlingGale · 19/03/2021 11:37

"Shutterteal* Thanks for that, you're lucky that your appetite seems to have disappeared. I'm sitting at my desk, having had a coffee, and am absolutely bloody starving. Will have to eat something soon! In three weeks I've only lost about 8 pounds, and that was all in the first two weeks. Better than nothing, but a bit dispiriting to have lost nothing in the last week. Still, I need to keep plugging on cos the alternative is that come the summer I'll still be exactly where I am now - or, horrific thought, even fatter than now!. I;m the same as you, love clothes and fashion and am usually well groomed, but my weight really lets me down. I have a wardrobe of gorgeous clothes that are too small for me and I'd be absolutely thrilled to be able to get into them again, which is my goal for the summer! So Does anyone have any advice on upping the dose from 1.2 - I'd prefer to do it gradually, so would 1.2 plus three clicks be worth trying? Or should I go straight up to 1.8 which I think is the next recommended dose? Any advice gratefully received!

andadietcoke · 19/03/2021 11:51

@HowlingGale I've had no side effects really in going up doses apart from 2.4 to 3 and I've felt a bit sick in the morning. 1.2 my HR went up a fair bit but has come down again.

I've started losing again though - hallelujah!!
