Following ! Wishing you luck

AcornAutumn · 21/02/2021 23:58

I have the same amount to lose

I'll be honest, I am just asking from curiosity... what happens when you stop using it?

sal1223 · 22/02/2021 00:02

I'm starting tomorrow- good luck !

sal1223 · 22/02/2021 00:03

And are you taking it in the am or pm? X

RefuseTheLies · 22/02/2021 00:03

I used saxenda during lockdown. I lost 3 stone. I'm pregnant now though and can't take it and I miss it so much! Will be starting back on it as soon as I can after giving birth. I'm keeping away from scales in the meantime Grin Good luck!

sal1223 · 22/02/2021 00:05

@RefuseTheLies wow well done ! How long did it take to lose 3 stone ?

whatsthestory123 · 22/02/2021 00:05

honestly i have no idea

some people say they force themselves to eat on it as they feel full but the last few days it dosent seem to make me feel full but im not ravenous either so try to ignore it,and no way am i going up a dose yet

but i have kept to 900 calories a day which i would never done before but the sugar detox has probably helped also

are you interested in it then ?

A little tempted

Normal dieting has got me 5lb loss in six or seven weeks!

But I don't do well with meds and this looks like it costs a huge amount

I was just really curious to know what happens when you stop.

whatsthestory123 · 22/02/2021 00:13

wow great start and thank you

im messing a little with the times,i dont eat breakfast and can skip lunch easily but am trying something very light for lunch and now have no sickness etc feel fine

keep fit is difficult as i have arthritis in my knee's and can use crutches at times but im trying upper body exercise 10mins a day and will work up,also have other health problems but deternind to make some good changes

Good luck starting tomorrow exciting times Smile

I started taking it last Wednesday. Counting calories trying to stay under 1000. Im 70.2kg and want to loose 17kg at least. Im only 5ft1 so even at 54kg I will still need to loose a bit more but I feel ok at that weight. Right now I feel so heavy and unhealthy I'm hoping saxenda will give me a kick start. Good luck everyone. Im glad I've found others on the same journey, the results will be interesting.

RefuseTheLies · 22/02/2021 00:14

It took about 4 months. I think it's amazing. I went from thinking about food all the time, to just not caring much about it at all.

sal1223 · 22/02/2021 00:14

I'm glad too ! Oh to be thinner for summer 🤩

whatsthestory123 · 22/02/2021 00:15

sal1223 well im 5ft 5 and would love to get another stone of but strangley i lookless than what i weigh so going for 4 but 5 would be fab

I was just really curious to know what happens when you stop.

Unless you've taken steps to address your food issues then, when you stop, it's very easy to fall back in to bad habits. But that's the same when you 'stop' any diet, really.

Yes. I should probably rephrase, I am not on a diet.

Just clicked as i'm so annoyed with the slow rate.

But at this cost, it isn't an option for me anyway.

Good luck all.

whatsthestory123 · 22/02/2021 00:24

what a great response and looks like a few of us are on a similar journey

ive read a few threads on MN about Saxenda and there is a lady that is doing really well on it,one thing i have read that people stay on the lower dose longer if they feel a lower dose is working as it can get expensive so thats worth noting

im a bit confused if it can be perscribed on the NHS,im Diabetic 2 all my own doing and embarrassed but may ask my doctor in the future unless others know

such a shame its out of some peoples reach,im thinking well i have not bought any rubbish for me to eat but still buy for the kids but cant say at the moment im to bothered thoughbut didhave a little pang when i hid the 16 cream eggs i bought for easter 4x4multi pack

OP posts:
notapizzaeater · 22/02/2021 00:39

That might be me, I'm doing excellently (is that even a word ?) forcing my self to eat. I'm only on 1.2 dose, there's lots of Facebook groups with advice, I stayed on .6 for a few weeks then went up to .6 plus 5 clicks before going to 1.2 a couple of weeks ago.

whatsthestory123 · 22/02/2021 00:40

oh and my only food issue is that im greedy and like the taste if im honest,no deep reasons why but its got out of hand and im embarrassed how i look and feel blush]

OP posts:
whatsthestory123 · 22/02/2021 00:43

what do you mean 5 clicks

OP posts:
slv2013 · 22/02/2021 00:48

When you stop your appetite increases and more often than not you put the weight back on.
Long term user 👋🏻👋🏻 - most people keep on a low dose to maintain forever, it isn’t designed as a quick fix.
I did maintain a good 20 pound lose (lost 30 overall) - currently pregnant but will return to it.
Do keep on as low a dose for as long as possible, I’ve never gone over 1.8. The clicks refers to turning it to say 0.6 and I think it’s 10 “clicks” to get to 1.2 - so 5 clicks is working towards the 1.2 but like halfway there. So lots cheaper to keep a low dose, if it is working keep low for as long as possible.
Also - shop around for suppliers and join the UK fb group. Pharmacy2u and the online clinic often have discount codes.

notapizzaeater · 22/02/2021 00:48

When you turn the dial turn it to .06 then turn it slowly and count the clicks.

whatsthestory123 · 22/02/2021 01:00

lol oh yes didnt notice the clicks, but yes you do if done so slowly

dont do FB this is why MN is so good Grin
