Anyone keen for a 6 week challenge?

NoNameNellie · 07/02/2021 18:50

I do well with shorter goals and am hoping to focus on shifting some weight and being more active.

Anyone else care to join and see how much weight we can shift (sensibly!) in the next 6 weeks?

People are welcome to join anytime, I personally will be counting from Monday 7th until March 22nd. I was hit pretty hard by lockdown and am the biggest I’ve ever been... I’ve already managed to shift a little bit of weight, now looking to tackle my long term eating habits and sedentary lifestyle in the coming period.

I’ll be sticking to the following :

  1. No snacking.
  2. 5 fruit/veg per day, protein source at every meal.
  3. Trying to hit 10,000 steps a day.

Other than that, I’m not following any diet in particular, I’m trying to change my habits for the long haul. And of course, being comfortable in summer will be an added bonus!

In these 6 weeks, I’m hoping to shift 8-9 pounds, as well as losing a couple of inches off my belly and bum.

Any takers?

@needadvice54321 my DH just said that too! I will try my best Grin

I’ve a day off work tomorrow so am aiming to use my peleton as well. I’ve neglected her these last couple of months because i badly sprained my ankle but tbh I could have restarted a couple of weeks ago 🤦🏻‍♀️

Zazu44 · 07/02/2021 21:47

Me too please! Have a good couple of stone to lose, will be Fast 800ing and fasting 18:6. Good luck everyone

NoNameNellie · 07/02/2021 22:29

Glad to see so many of you! Hoping we can help to keep each other accountable!

I seem to get to May every year and realise that I’ve forgot to lose that spare tire for summer!

In response to your question OP, I probably exercised 4/5 times a week. All done at home, using online workouts, rarely more than 20-30 mins.

Now, to maintain, I try to workout most mornings but it’s more like 10-15 mins before a shower. I have stuck with not eating before midday. I find it really helps. Breakfast revs up my appetite for the day.

Hi all! I'm joining for a 1.5 stones loss as fast as possible ! I was shocked when I stepped on the scales two days ago and have piled on 13 pounds since July 😭😫😫😫

I'm aiming for fast 800 especially for the first two weeks, will try to walk but not promising given that I have three kids remote learning at home absolutely no biscuits, junk, crap. I have massively over indulged over Christmas and still have a box of mince pies in the cupboard (and a massive arse to show for it Hmm)

NoNameNellie · 08/02/2021 08:19

Morning everyone!

Checking in this morning at 11.1 stone (69.9kg). I’m already down from 73.3 kg and hoping to continue!

Thickest part of my waist measures at 96cm and my bum is at 103.5cm.

This week I’m really going to try and tackle snacking and eating sensible meal portions. I’ll be trying to move as much as possible, but will change once thing at a time and not go for an unsustainable all or nothing type approach that I’ve had in the past.

Have a good day everyone!

I'll be following the Feel Great, Lose Weight principles.

Two successes so far. I didn't have my phone in the bedroom for the first time in years. Can't believe what a difference it made to my night's sleep. Second success was going out for a run this morning, first one since January.

Mrsbclinton · 08/02/2021 08:47

Im joining too. I started yesterday weighed in at 10st 11 which is way too much for my height 5”1. I am hoping to lose the 11lbs by easter (8 weeks away)

I followed the no s plan before with great success so Im going to follow again. it’s basically 3 meals no snacks except on weekends.

Snacking on chocolate is my downfall.
Good luck to everyone, we can do this!

fudgecat · 08/02/2021 08:51

Just jumped on the scales and starting weight is 68.1

HolaVida · 08/02/2021 09:05

Could I join? I've been trying to lose Lockdown 1 weight for a little while - managed to lost 10lb between Oct and Christmas, but I was able to be part of an outside fit camp so was exercising 4x weekly. Obvs nothing like that this side of Christmas and the weight has stopped coming off (despite doing 5:2 plus 16:8 the rest of the time).

Am tempted to give up, but really don't want to have rubbing thighs by the time the weather gets nicer again, so probably have another stone to go.

Today I'm doing a 5:2, will drink lots of water and camomile tea, aiming for 10K steps a day.

CarlottaValdez · 08/02/2021 09:32

Right here’s my plan - everyday I’m going to take a collagen powder and a vitamin supplement. I’m going to eat between 12 and 6pm, two reasonably sized meals. No snacking!

Exercise is 3 C25k runs a week and try to do walking on the other days plus a short workout.

Today I’ve done the run already so feeling good. Good luck everyone!

CarlottaValdez · 08/02/2021 09:34

I’m also going to plot out 6 weeks in the back of my journal and tick off each day I succeed in sticking to the plan. I’ve found that really helpful in the past.

ChonkyChook · 08/02/2021 09:38

I'm in. Place marking to come back and read properly later.

I enjoy my dinners and wine with DH too much. 77kg. Size 16. C section overhang. I work from home and I'm homeschooling the kids.

10k steps a day.
6 days of YouTube workouts a week.
No snacks, no booze and no big portions.

💪💪💪💪💪💪💪

Count me in. Have become so inactive working from home for the last 10 months, and watching Netflix in the evenings and weekends. Need a kick up the bum and a support group like this to keep me on track. I’m currently 11 stone 4 which is the heaviest I’ve ever been. I would love to get back down to 9 stone 7, eventually. Goal is to cut back on carbs and exercise every day. What’s everyone else’s plan?

Lostsoul231 · 08/02/2021 10:19

Does anyone else have problems with cellulite and any tips for reducing it. I aim to drink 2 litres water per day, exercise more and buy a body brush. Any other ideas to reduce it?

LostPencilSOS · 08/02/2021 11:03

Had a cup of tea and a glass of water so far this morning . The plan is to delay breakfast for as long as possible ! I'm thinking 12:30pm.

How's everyone getting on?

I've come across some leggings to reduce cellulite but their US based. Still not sure whether to buy or not ! They do look very nice on as well ...

OhMsBeliever · 08/02/2021 11:27

I'm worried about doing my steps in case it's very icy out there. I wouldn't normally care but I broke my elbow in December slipping on mud so am still cautious when out walking.

Weight is 82.2kg, which I think is 12stone 13lb. Ugh.

I'm also trying to delay eating, haven't had anything yet. Also need to take my iron tablets and other vitamins regularly.

MaryBoBary · 08/02/2021 11:43

I got up and did an exercise video for 20 mins this morning. And am famished now! I'm having a BLT wrap with 1 rasher of bacon for lunch and then lots of water when I start to feel peckish again. I need to get out with the dog this afternoon too. I'm feeling positive and also have a set of scales arriving today so that I can sctually see my progress and stay on the wagon!

buckeejit · 08/02/2021 12:11

Joining up please! I have been trying for the last month & have lost a stone but so many
More stones to lose!

I'm calorie counting & doing 10k steps-walking is fine otherwise I hate exercise. Trying to low carb but oh lovely carbs & junk food are one of my downfalls. Have been sober since 5 Jan & will probably drink at weekends.

Would love another stone off in the next month-6 weeks. Weigh in today was no change after the scales were thinking about adding 1lb on - the cheek!

Any healthy snacks & tips appreciated. Like the idea of ticking off each successful healthy day within targets, I do like a gold star!

WomanintheHighCastle · 08/02/2021 12:25

Hi everyone! Mind if I join? Managed to lose half a stone over the summer then put it all on again (and then some). Need a six-week challenge (and a kick up the bum). Chocolate/sweets are my downfall

jendifer · 08/02/2021 12:28

Yes please! Getting married in the summer and need to lose 1-2 stone.

Starting weight 135lbs

Yorensnow · 08/02/2021 12:37

Please can I join Smile
I have about 20lbs to lose. I'm finding it much harder now I'm in my 30's. But I want to aim for 1-2lbs a week and then hopefully it will stay off.

My plans is 10-15k steps a day, weight training following a YouTube workout video, and low carb low sugar 1400 calories.

My downfall is cooking for the young DC and picking when they eat, boredom/emotional eating especially working from home and homeschooling. Also I do fine in the week and then fall off at the weekends Blush

Lostsoul231 · 08/02/2021 13:06

Trying to eat between 12 and 6.30 only. Lots of water and no snacking. Today I’ve had a litre of water (put a drop of sugar free vimto in it as can drink more that way). Had fish ad broccoli for lunch and planning on a Linda McCartney sausage and veg for dinner this evening, after a dog walk.

ElvenDreamer · 08/02/2021 13:10

Ok, so I am doing breakfast and 2 snacks a day, but mindfully and carefully! I need to stop eating loads in the evenings. Today was small plain homemade yoghurt with 2 tbsp oat bran and some fruit, morning snack a highland oatcake with sugar free nut butter. Salad for lunch. Have a pepper stuffed with veg and lentil mixture ready for the evening.

I am doing a short exercise app aimed at my tummy (10ishmins) everyday, it's so short I have no excuse, then aiming for 10k steps a day and 1 longer exercise session in the week.
Cutting all sugar, including for now things like rice, pasta etc.

I’m the same height I and I think I weigh the same 😁 I don’t have scales so I’m not sure but I have ordered some. I’m up for this, doing the 16/8 diet but not cutting out any food groups and doing an online class or YouTube tutorial every morning. Let’s do this thing!
