Forgot to say I am going to weigh myself at night on the way to bed to hopefully stop mindless evening eating.
Have never weighed at night before so hoping the novelty factor will put my mind in the right place.

buckeejit · 12/01/2021 16:02

Checking in! A lot of your starting weight are my goal weight 🥴. But hey ho. I was devastated to step on the scales-I lost a stone through first lockdown then went back to work & overeating & drinking too much & had put 1.5 stone on!

Proud of last week's achievements though & found it easier to get back into. Strangely I'm not desperately hungry often, though haven't been eating enough fruit I think. Achievements:

No alcohol
10k steps daily
Drinking water
No mindless snacking

I actually think I will need to get some new scales as mine only show whole pounds & will be gutted if I have a good week & I don't see at least half a pound loss! Any recommendations on scales?

I'm weighing in on Monday morning & must take measurements tonight. It's not something that I will keep track of often but down the line will check if I need a boost.

lucy2204 · 12/01/2021 21:58

@buckeejit mine too! (their starting weight is my goal 🙄) feel like I'm never gna get there 😂

I haven't worked out today as have had a bad mental health day 🙄put plan to give myself a kick up the butt for tomorrow, I've eaten healthy all day tho so hopefully that'll help 🙂xx

Hope everyone's had a good day today 🤗

@lucy2204 we'll all have less good days, I hate exercise with a passion so will avoid as long as possible other than getting my steps in for now

Scales- thank you! I should've mentioned I'm a technological simpleton & they look a bit complicated. I don't understand how it can tell your fat ratio or whatever so that makes me skeptical. But to be honest, if it shows half pounds, I'm in! Does it show less than half pounds though, as I wouldn't like that either. Don't want to get anal about it! 🤣

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 12/01/2021 22:55

Renpho scale. Download the app, stand on the scale and everything shows on the app screen. Calculates your BMI and tracks your progress automatically. Really impressed with it so far

An hour of BodyPump today and I can already feel myself seizing up. DD9 was helpfully saying to me during the lunge track “I don’t know why you find this so hard!” Hmm

BeastOfBODMAS · 13/01/2021 11:27

Morning all!
I have just had my coil taken out which is exciting! DH on work calls all day so I am restraining myself from jumping on him 😂
I invented a sausage stew last night from whatever was left before the shopping arrived and it was really good so wanted to share the recipe - makes 2 portions but can be easily adjusted
1 medium onion (150g) chopped small
Heat 2tsp olive oil in a large frying pan and cook gently
Peel and chop 3 medium potatoes (360g) and 2 small carrots (75g) and add to pan. Stir regularly to prevent sticking.
Chop 1 medium red pepper (120g) 1cm dice plus 1 courgette (150g) 0.5cm dice and add to pan
In a separate large saucepan add 1 tin chopped tomatoes, 1 stock cube, 500ml ish boiling water, 2tbsp tomato purée, 2 tsp gravy granules, 0.5tsp marmite, 1 tsp garlic powder, couple of pinches mixed herbs, generous 2 tsp paprika and cayenne pepper to taste.
Bring saucepan to a simmer and when the onions in the frying pan are translucent tip all the veg into the broth.
Simmer until the potatoes are cooked through but not breaking down. Stir occasionally so it doesn’t stick.
Meanwhile (I hate recipes with a meanwhile Hmm ) bake sausages in the oven until cooked through, I did pork for DH and veggie for me
Add 100g frozen peas to stew 5 mins before sausages done.
When ready chop up the sausages as add to bowls, divide stew between 2 bowls.
It was appr. 375cals for the stew part plus 165 cal for 3 veggie sausages (300cal for 2 ‘finest’ pork sausages but guess you could sub for something leaner) and really filling - I’ve only just needed breakfast!

Delilah221 · 13/01/2021 12:00

Morning guys,

And welcome to all the new joiners!

So with lockdown 3.0 taking it’s toll! I’m really struggling with staying in all day and not snacking or ordering in 😂

So I’ve decided I’m going to give myself Saturday to enjoy whatever I was craving in the week. And then Sunday we’ll go for a nice long walk somewhere and get back on track. But Saturday will be my guilt free day as I really need the balance. And it give me enough time to get back on track before the following Friday weigh in 😂

I’m really really struggling to get up in the mornings, I just cannot wake up. For those with children, please don’t hate me😂 but last night I went to bed about 9pm, soo tiered and I slept right through til 10:30! But I just feel so crappy all day! And I’m trying to push myself to even just go out for a 20 min walk but I’m struggling to get the motivation to do that!

Hope you’re all doing ok!

Delilah221 · 13/01/2021 12:03

@BeastOfBODMAS ahh how exciting!! Wishing you all the luck for TTC.

I’m all over the place since coming off the pill.. bloody hormones. I cried last night because we didn’t have any cake 😳😂😂

SpookieDookie · 13/01/2021 12:22

Why is the only visible place I have lost weight so far my boobs?!

BeastOfBODMAS · 13/01/2021 12:50

Thanks @Delilah221
Best of luck to you too, sorry to hear about the cake situation and hope you get to enjoy some on Saturday!

Delilah221 · 13/01/2021 13:14

@BeastOfBODMAS - Thank you! Haha I feel so over dramatic about it now, but I will deffo enjoy some cake Saturday! 😂

Peony2021 · 13/01/2021 13:51

@BeastOfBODMAS yes good luck on your TTC journey!! We've been trying trying since October (off pill since July) and it's starting to make me a littttle nervous that it hasn't happened yet but trying to stay calm and focus on getting healthy 😬🤞🏻

@Delilah221 this sounds exactly like me!!! Also like to give myself Saturday off otherwise I spend the entire week craving it all so much. So I always get a takeaway on Saturday eve and then some crisps or whatever to snack on. Having said that I'm still eating crisps midweek also 🤦🏻‍♀️ a big long walk on Sunday will hopefully do the trick 🤞🏻

Also I think previous posters mentioned some people's goal weights are their starting weights - that's definitely the case for me also!! 🥴 but trying to remind myself that everyone on their own battles and journeys and I just need to keep the head down and try my best. Easier said than done sometimes 😬

This weather just makes me want to eat lol!

Delilah221 · 13/01/2021 14:10

@Peony2021 I think it’s the best way forward! At least that’ll stop me from going crazy and binge eating all week! Doing surprisingly well at no booze during the week though! So proud of that lol.

I’m also panicking that some peoples starting weight is my goal weight! But like you say everyone’s journey is different!

Good luck on the TTC I’ve only been off the pill for around 6 weeks now, so was TTC straight away but I think I’m gunna have to give myself a few months to get back to some normality cycle wise!
Fingers crossed for you for the BFP soon 🤞🏻

Also, @BeastOfBODMAS thanks for that recipe! Deffo going to give that a try 😀

BeastOfBODMAS · 13/01/2021 15:03

fingers crossed for you too @Peony2021 and hope you get good news soon. I think staying calm is definitely key, I’ve had to have a word with myself already!

I agree about the weather today, debating putting the heating on already

Peony2021 · 13/01/2021 15:32

Thanks so much @BeastOfBODMAS and @Delilah221 - hopefully the 3 of us will have some weight loss AND good news to be able to report back on over the next few months!!!

Also agree the casserole recipe sounds delish, am always on the hunt for new things to try!! Xx

Delilah221 · 13/01/2021 15:39

@Peony2021 - keeping fingers crossed 😊🤞🏻

I’m just trying to focus on becoming healthier and hopefully loosing enough weight as I do worry my weight might have an impact on TTC. Plus we’re also at the last stretch of buying our house so I’m hoping stress levels will go down once we move lol.

Me too, love the idea of sharing lots of new recipes! We’re having tacos tonight, been craving them for ages! (I’m a nightmare with cravings, If I see something on the tv I’ll then crave it for ages) 🙈😂

buckeejit · 13/01/2021 16:00

Good luck to all TTC! I highly recommend the clear blue digital ovulation monitor thingy. I got pg so quickly with my first & 2nd took ages.

I'm 43 now & thought I was pg a couple of months ago, it was quite terrifying & I felt v guilty. Need to go back onto some sort of contraception - anyone know of one that makes you lose weight?! 😂. I'm also sad that I'll never have another baby to feed & love etc. Although it's easier when they're a bit more independent!

@Delilah221 was it you was Belfast? I'm just down the road-jealous of all the sleep! I find that if I just get up & go for my 22 min walk first thing, it sets me up for the day in a big way-3000 steps done makes my 10k achievable. I haven't even been snacking on a multipack of crisps in the evening as I normally would -saving it for the weekend. Have bought an expensive handheld vac & mop bucket already today so May as well dive into the scales

Peony2021 · 13/01/2021 16:12

Thanks @buckeejit!! Actually bought one of those clear blue things 2 months ago, very handy I hope it works for me soon!

Are you and @Delilah221 in Belfast? Me too! Just finished a slog (slow jog) around my area and honestly I'm fit to be tied after all that rain and muck 😂

lucy2204 · 13/01/2021 16:19

Hello everyone! Just got my workout in!, hope everyone's okay, good luck to everyone trying for there babies! Hopefully you all get some good news! Xx

OP posts:
Delilah221 · 13/01/2021 16:34

@buckeejit - oh nope, I’m not from Belfast 🙈 I’m in London! But in terms of walking I think I need to just get up and out! I’ve laid out my clothes for tomorrow so need to be up and out. I have early meetings tomorrow so must be up way before 10:30 🙈😂

@Peony2021 I love the ‘slog’ I’m so gunna steal that saying! Haha.

I walked to the shop today, only to get dinner for tonight and even that 10 mins out the house made me feel better! Baby steps! 🙈😂

Peony2021 · 13/01/2021 16:59

@Delilah221 baby steps 100% well done!!! And also well done on the no midweek booze, it's used to be a killer for us too 😬 still so far managing dry January but I can't imagine it will last beyond this Saturday!! Also exciting about the house move!!! Hope all goes to plan 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@lucy2204 well done on the workout Lucy!! It sounds like we're all getting into the way of things 😊 2 more days to weigh in... "I must not keep eating the lovely Thornton's chocolate I got for Christmas.... I must not keep eating the lovely Thornton's chocolate I got for Christmas...." 🥴🤭

buckeejit · 13/01/2021 18:55

Ah sorry - must've been thinking of you @Peony2021 I also don't know how I'll get past another Saturday dry. The rest of the week I can cope with fine but I bloody love my wine.

@Delilah221 yea just do it. The circle of good/bad means getting up early will get you to bed early & you won't be tempted to eat as much in the evening, (could just be me though)! 🤣

Delilah221 · 13/01/2021 19:01

@Peony2021 ah us too! But It’s really quite helpful getting through the week knowing I can have a drink Saturday! If I try to go cold turkey I’ll end up caving so bad 😂🙈 well done on the dry Jan, especially getting this far! I lasted about 2 days 😂
Aww thank you, I’ll be more excited when we get the contracts through!! So stressful!

@buckeejit - no worries🙈 well this is my way of thinking too! But I really really struggle to even wake up! I set so many alarms but end up snoozing or turning them off! I just need to wake up at a reasonable time 😂 although also making the most of it before any babies come along and I won’t know what sleep is again for a few years 🙈🙈

lucy2204 · 14/01/2021 10:27

Morning everyone! 🤗 Hope you all have a good day!,

for anyone that likes scrambled eggs try chucking some spinach and sun dried tomatoes in with it or chopped tinned tomatoes, it's one of my favourite 'diet foods' and is very filling!, xx
