Good job @lucy2204 - I think we need to realise that this is the shittest possible time to be trying to lose weight. No buddying up, no gym, no classes, no nice outings for big walks & January lockdown As well. Go easy on ourselves but also, if we can stick mostly to our plans, when we are released we will all feel so much better for losing a few pounds. If we can winter this one out, we can summer anywhere!

I know it doesn't work for everyone but I'm treating this lockdown as though it's a prison sentence which it feels a bit like anyway so early nights to stop myself indulging too much & a load of soup in the freezer means really easy meals once a day. Think of each day you complete as being a friend to your future self. Any dreamy image I have of the future does not have me at the size I am now! And I want that achievement feeling that I've earned my night out when it finally comes!

I've had leftover roasted tomato risotto at lunch today & soup for tea while the kids had ribs & chips.

I'm finding breakfast of yogurt, honey, berries & a little granola is good every other day & half a red grapefruit on the other days. Delighted it's Friday tomorrow but also a little worried about keeping myself in check!

Good luck everyone else, hope you're all hanging in there

lucy2204 · 24/01/2021 19:00

Hey @lucy2204 and everyone, sorry I've been quieter this week - work manic!

I maintained last week, which was irritating. @lucy2204 sorry to hear about the gain but I suppose all we can say to each other is we're only starting, it's January and so we have to go easy on ourselves!

I'm really hoping for a sensible week this week as next weekend I'm going to bring an end to my dry January and have a bit of a blow out weekend. I find once a month doing that keeps me sane.

Just finished making (and eating) a buttery creamy mushroom risotto with garlic bread and trillions of calories but oh well, Sunday can be hard enough!!

Hope everyone doing well!

Delilah221 · 25/01/2021 00:40

Hi everyone!

@lucy2204 you’re not alone, I was down 6.5lb in 2 weeks, had a really crap week last week and weighed in Saturday to find I’ve gained 4lb back! So incredibly annoyed at myself. But trying to pick myself back up and try and take each day as it comes but with living in Groundhog Day it’s bloody hard work!

@Peony2021 is right, it’s only the first month so can should cut ourselves some slack. And as @buckeejit us quite rightly said, this isn’t the best time to be trying to loose weight, I’m really struggling!

I hope you’re all doing ok though and hope to be on here much more next week to keep motivated and tackle the 4lb gained back!!! 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

Glitterb · 25/01/2021 10:51

Morning everyone!

Sorry everyone is struggling, but we can do this 👏🏼 Times are tough at the moment but let’s think about all those lovely summer holidays!

It was weigh day this morning and I’m 3lb down this week, which takes me to 10lb down. Only another 3/4 to go 🙄🙄 feeling good about calorie counting, I’ve done slimming world for years and always felt deprived and always gained more weight back!

lucy2204 · 25/01/2021 19:27

Hey everyone, hope your all okay, we're having wrap pizzas for dinner and I cannot wait 😂 hope you all had a good day

@delilah221 sorry about your gain, its shitty isn't it but we can do this 💪💪

@glitterb well done on your loss 💐your sooo close 💪💃

@peony2021 hello has your day been 🤗

Hello all I would like to join please! Size 16-18 and really need to lose about 6 stone Sad

Getting married next year so would like to look human and not whale like in my dress. Also trying for a baby but my periods haven’t come back since stopping my pill and I think it’s because I’m too fat Blush

lucy2204 · 26/01/2021 08:14

@shutupalex your more than welcome to join, and we shall try and get u there,💐😁

Have you taken a test? (i.e periods) you can get pregnant right away, if not depending on how long it's been since your last one if see a doctor, defo not coz your too fat, 🤗🤗I'm sure you look fine as you are xx

OP posts:
ShutUpAlex · 26/01/2021 11:04

Yeah all negative tests! I’m 13 days late and feeling rubbish. It doesn’t help that I have had pms for 3 weeks which makes me eat like crazy. Usually it’s only a few days and I can manage it.

Are you sticking to a diet plan or just taking it easy and trying to eat better and do some exercise?

BeastOfBODMAS · 26/01/2021 12:37

Hi everyone, glad to see you all back and sticking with it!
@Delilah221 I’m sure that gain can be gone in no time, it might just be a hormones thing? I often have a frustrating week-ish of bloating followed by a bigger loss.

Today I am wearing my favourite jeans for the first time in about 5 years. They are size 16 Levi’s from when I was 16 years old (I was a fat child!) Blush
I can get on board with the austere lockdown health farm vibe as long as I am still allowed to do the my-arse-looks-fantastic dance.

Experimenting with tinned fruit in porridge this week as didn’t get any fresh fruit in the last shop. Rhubarb and mandarin have been the winners so far. Top gruel Grin

Delilah221 · 26/01/2021 13:27

@BeastOfBODMAS that’s amazing, so pleased for you! I’d loveeee to get a pair of Levi’s but can never get them over my gigantic calfs! 🙄🙈

I’d love to blame the gain on hormones, but to be honest I didn’t help myself! Lots of rubbish food and wine whilst feeling sorry for myself! Trying to get back on track this week! Had my fruit and yoghurt this morning 😃👍🏼

@ShutUpAlex I’m the exact same! I’m a 18, can’t even fit in a 16 now! Although I don’t trust every shops sizes! I got a size 18 jeans from asda and I couldn’t even get them over my thighs and I was destraught! So I gave them to my mum and she text and said no wonder they don’t fit I’ve just measured them up to a size 12 and they’re the same!! 😳

Also, congrats on the wedding! I got engaged in December and we was aiming for a small wedding in November this year but I cannot bare dress shopping anytime soon so aiming to book for next year! Covid doesn’t help wedding plans either!

How long have you been off the pill? What one was you on? I’m currently waiting for AF and I’ve been off the pill for almost 2 months now. And I worry that my weight has effected it too, but it can take up to 3 months to come back to any kind of normal cycle!

I’m also petrified of TTC at the moment because I think if I got a BFP now then I’d worry I’m not healthy enough! 😥 but I’m really struggling to motivate myself in lockdown!

ShutUpAlex · 26/01/2021 13:53

Been off the pill since November. Had one normal period and now nothing. I read some people can take a year to get back to normal which I’m really worried about! I was on cerrazette how about you?

Delilah221 · 26/01/2021 14:16

@ShutUpAlex - Ah ok, close to the same time for me too. I took my last pill on the 8th of December. I then had what i assume was my withdrawal, then a few days of spotting, but all of it was brown discharge, no normal period. (Sorry TMI) now nothing since!

I was on carrelle for years and was fine with it, but then given carazette in October and didn't get on well with it at all so that's why i decided to stop all together in December.

ShutUpAlex · 26/01/2021 14:22

I had withdrawal bleed 2 weeks after stopping, then I ovulated normal time and had a normal period. Now nothing. So annoying!

BeastOfBODMAS · 26/01/2021 15:33

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding @ShutUpAlex I’m sure you will look lovely.

TTC was my big motivation , I’m sure you are healthy enough @Delilah221 just keep going in the right direction, a bad week here or there doesn’t matter if you are losing overall! It’s a long term project, well done for getting back on it today.

In other news, I randomly started jogging up the street earlier trying to find a parking space for our roofer and nearly fell over in surprise! Didn’t know jogging was a thing that could happen 😂

Delilah221 · 26/01/2021 16:11

@ShutUpAlex I think I must be in the same boat, it’s so frustrating!

@BeastOfBODMAS well this is the thing I thought as soon as we said we were TTC I’d be right on it, but I’ve not got any motivation at all during lockdown. I don’t even have motivation to get out of bed sometimes!

Oh that did give me a chuckle 😂 I hate jogging, I feel like my boobs will knock me out 😂

BeastOfBODMAS · 26/01/2021 16:49

@Delilah221 well if you’re TTC and can’t get motivated to get out of bed... you can at least count the horizontal aerobics as daily exercise Grin burn those calories!

Delilah221 · 26/01/2021 17:01

@BeastOfBODMAS well there’s an idea 😂🙈

BeastOfBODMAS · 28/01/2021 09:40

Apologies if I’ve killed the thread 😅

Hope everyone has a good and healthy day - we’ve got this!

Massive thanks to whoever put me on to warm salads previously, I’m now getting through kale at a frightening rate!

Delilah221 · 28/01/2021 11:49

Haha sorry guys I’ve been a bit all over the place with all this TTC malarkey! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thanks to @BeastOfBODMAS was a fresh push for me so I’ve been really good this week so hoping for a loss on Saturday! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

In other news AF arrive very surprisingly this morning so that’s one thing I can kind of relax about now lol.

How’s everyone doing?!

lucy2204 · 29/01/2021 02:26

Hey everyone sorry I've been quiet again, hope everyone's okay, I'm still keeping to everything tho I haven't worked out this past couple days (bad period sorry for the tmi) but will be as soon as I'm off, its been so hard to not eat junk -.- xx

Can I join? I’ve got 4 plus stone to lose. Going to read Dr Chatterjee’s new book ‘Feel great Lose weight’ to work out why I overeat. I’ve found his books on stress etc really useful. Trying to fast for at least 12 hours per day and move more to start with along with more water.

lucy2204 · 29/01/2021 20:09

@recycledblonde ofc you can! I've never thought about reading books about stress and that, are they any good? Like did they improve your mind set etc xx
