@MooPointCowsOpinion

Hello!! I am hoping to lose about 3 stone, I’ve been looking at a lot of Nerd fitness workouts and videos about stress eating.

I am definitely a stress eater! But I love weight training so I’m hoping to substitute eating with workouts when stressed...!

Hey @MooPointCowsOpinion!

I'm a stress eater too, or maybe just a mindless eater. I eat to give my hands something to do! So I sometimes try to do something to occupy myself while watching tv like painting nails or colouring in or something (I do enjoy an adult colouring book every so often 😂) I also love weight training so must look up that fitness thing! Although I've only one set of dumbbells at home and all the gyms are closed 🤦🏻‍♀️

MooPointCowsOpinion · 08/01/2021 21:11

the video about stressed/bored eating Just over half way down this blog really resonated with me, including the part about beating yourself up if you fail. Easy to then throw the whole diet out isn’t it, but just trying to continue to make good choices afterwards and be compassionate with yourself is the stronger choice.
Just burnt 300 calories doing leg day so I feel pretty happy about having a drink with my husband To celebrate surviving the first week of working from home and home schooling together!!

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 09/01/2021 09:24

Morning all! I hope everyone is feeling good. I've had a bad couplee of days with the cheese - boredom/comfort eating. Lockdown isn't helping the boredom one bit. But I am now off for a very cold, very slow 5k. I hate all exercise, but I do like being outdoors.

buckeejit · 09/01/2021 11:07

Morning all. Tried to speed catch up with things there, glad everyone is good & going well with their programmes.

I'm pleased with how I've done this week (so far). So far still on dry January & would be easy to cave with all the bad news but think it will immensely help me stay on track to stay off the booze while I can.

Hard work trying to do 10k steps with all the ice round here. My bones break easily so really don't want to risk a fall. I'm thinking of getting an exercise bike if anyone has any recommendations that don't take up too much room & don't cost a fortune.

Currently sat watching married at first sight Australia when I should be out walking, (it's very good).

The green roasting tin has quite a few things that I'd try in it & good for ideas but where they say 4 tablespoons of oil, I'd have to try it with just a little oil/frylite. Last night I just roasted some veg with season all & pan fried a chicken fillet, threw in a little basmati & had it with a dollop of greek yogurt. It was delicious!

I made lots of soup last weekend & May do a different batch next weekend. It makes such a big difference to have a healthy option just to grab from the freezer & just have to really plan one healthy meal a day. Other favourite, easy, healthyish meals I do are yellow split pea dahl, chicken fried rice, risotto & salad, homemade chips & coleslaw, prawn stir fry. Would love some new ideas for the inventory! I love my Instantpot & would recommend it for easy cooking, so much so that I have a second one arriving tomorrow 😁

buckeejit · 09/01/2021 11:08

@TheTurn0fTheScrew I also hate any sort of exercise but also like being out. Really wish it would thaw so I could get my steps done easier

Hollyhocksarenotmessy · 09/01/2021 11:29

Hi Lucy. I think I've got around 4 stone to lose but I dont own scales so no real idea. I ordered some scales last night so I should find out today. I was 3 stone overweight at the start of 2020, and after months of working from home, none of my trousers will do up! I must be at least 15 stone now. My knees are knackered and I get so breathless when exercising. I have to do something.

Peony2021 · 09/01/2021 11:42

@TheTurn0fTheScrew well done for getting the 5k in!! I haven't attempted a jog since 17 December (even at that I usually do around 3.5k in 25 mins and can't be bothered going much longer than that 🤦🏻‍♀️). Desperate to get back outside for a slow jog to build myself up again but just don't want to risk it in the ice / frost

@buckeejit im with you on wanting to be careful!! Also watched MAFSA last year - so trashy so good 😂😂 I've been looking up potential exercise equipment. My issue is that I'm in Belfast and with brexit no one is bloody delivering to us 🙄 so frustrating.

I raided the crisp cupboard last night. Miraculously I stopped after a bowl and a half 😂 doing dry January so every week have decided I will treat myself to a takeaway. Just need to limit what I order 🤔

Not much exercise for me this weekend unfortunately - bought new walking shoes and as I was wearing them in I gave myself a blister. These things are sent to try us... 🤦🏻‍♀️

Happy Saturday!!! 🥳

lucy2204 · 09/01/2021 11:48

Morning everyone! I've been up since 4 with the baby so absolutely exhausted 😴I caved and ended up have a mini fry up for breakfast -.- I will be working out today tho and will have soup for dinner.

@buckeejit look on Facebook or shpock for an exercise bike! Just obviously wipe it down etc you'll be able to get one for around £20 prob less, no point in wasting a stupid amount of money on a new one, +you can save the money you spent on new clothes, 💸😘xx

@hollyhocksarenotmessy I'm still waiting for my bloody scales I ordered them on Wednesday I think 🙄I'm sure whatever weight you are, you'll be able to change it 💪try some very small work outs have a little look on YouTube there's loads on there, maybe put in "light first time exercises' they'll be some slow but very good ones on there or if you like fancing try zumba! Me and my 2nd child (she's 1) loves dancing so she'll join in xx

@TheTurnOfTheScrew don't be to hard on yourself, it's been a rough nearly year of this crap, just take every day slowly you got this 🤗 xx

Hope everyone has a good day!! Xx

We are getting a takeaway tonight as it is DF birthday so we are celebrating over zoom! What's the best takeaway to get!

lucy2204 · 09/01/2021 15:44

@queenofthelamas I have a 7 month old to(3rd child) -.- my 2nd is nearing two but I always get the whole 16-24 month stuff wrong so normally just go with 1 etc 😂🙈and Chinese has to be the best take away 1000% Xx

Afternoon.., just got back from my Saturday walk. I kept going today and walked 10 miles.
I'm having pizza for tea and plan on using gluten free wraps instead of a pizza base to save some calories.

lucy2204 · 09/01/2021 17:41

@quarentini good job on the walk hun!, wrap pizzas taste sooo good! 😍Xx

What’s the plan then? Monday weigh in?

HereIgoagainagain · 10/01/2021 08:59

Morning all, I am still plodding along , so far so good I think, will weigh in tomorrow .

My plan today is to buy paint, a bit of DIY will give me something to do instead of stuffing my face and it has all been needed to be done for ages.

I do find that not looking after myself physically also means that everything else slips as well. It has to be a whole life thing really.

But still taking it in little steps rather than changing everything at the same time.

Good luck everybody!! One day at a time!

Delilah221 · 10/01/2021 10:55

Morning everyone,

Hope you’re all doing ok!

I caved... had some wine last night 🙄 but I’m very proud of myself as I only had half a bottle 😂 not the whole bottle! Baby steps...

And we didn’t drink Friday and we’re not drinking today (which we normally would) so I’m proud of that.

Not weighing in until Friday, I’ll do it each Friday morning 😊

Had homemade lasagne with rocket, roasted red peppers and cucumber salad last night! Was lovely. A nice change from a beige dinner with lots of garlic bread lol.

How’re you all getting on? Hope you’re all doing ok!

Peony2021 · 10/01/2021 11:43

Hey everyone 👋🏻 sounds like we all had a good weekend!! I managed to fit in a joe wicks workout yesterday (almost needed an ambulance half way through) which made me feel less guilty about my Chinese takeaway last night 🤭

Also weighing in on Friday - I've found it's the best as it gives me a good 5 days of midweek "healthy" eating and by that stage the weekend bloat has gone!

Going to have a day off the exercise today but trying not to snack all day long 🤞🏻 (she says having a bacon sandwich as her second breakfast 😬)

Hollyhocksarenotmessy · 10/01/2021 14:48

My scales arrived. I am 15st 1lbs, at 5'6''. OH GAWD.

Staywithmemyblood · 10/01/2021 15:33

Can I join too please? 🙋‍♀️ I’m a comfort eater with a weakness for crisps, chocolate and cake and am now 14st 5 lbs so I’d like to lose at least 4st. Love the idea of a support thread as it’ll give me some much needed motivation and accountability. And sharing healthy meal ideas is great too 👍🏻

lucy2204 · 10/01/2021 16:05

Heyyy everyone, I'm happy with a Friday weigh in, I've had a really good day food wise today so far :) feel shitty mood wise, prob coz I can't have junk food 😂(bloody chips🙄🤣) my scales aren't being despatched till tomorrow even tho I bloody ordered them last week 🙄

@HereIgoagainagain I'm the same I feel like when I'm feeling shitty in myself I kinda let things go to poop 🙄I've got bleaching to do once the kids have gone to bed hoping it makes me feel less lazy 😂goodluck with all the DIY! Xx

@delilah221 I had homemade lasagne and salad last night too 😍x

@peony2021 bloody Joe wicks has taken down another one of us! He has so much bloody energy and is so physically fit I have no idea why I thought I'd be able to do it with my belly and my unhealthy self 😂😂😂x

@hollyhocksarenotmessy tbf that's not that bad, obviously not idea but easy to change what is your goal weight do you know?I was 17st once I gave birth to my son 😕🙄that was 7months ago so god knows what I am now ☹️ Xx

@staywithmemyblood you can defo come join us, I love the recipe idea too I only thought of it coz me personally get so fed up with the same food all the time, I'm always looking for new foods🙄🤔 xx

hope everyones had a good day!,

queenofthelamas · 10/01/2021 19:16

So I weighed myself today... I'm so disappointed in myself to say the least!

Tomorrow is the start of a new week and the first day back at work since 11th December (all be it working from home at the moment!!). I'm nervous about starting again and not spending so much time with DS but hopefully the routine will help with food!

I'm determined to loose this week and have set a goal of 3lbs!

@lucy2204 new joe wicks tomorrow Grin

lucy2204 · 10/01/2021 19:35

@queenofthelamas don't I tried again today, 😂defo not healthy enough to keep up with him 😂😂😂he's like ima gna give ya a 30 second break me 1 minute later still dying 😂😂😂xx
