I'm the fattest I have ever been and need to take drastic action for the sake of my health and sanity. I am 15st8 🤦‍♀️ was a stone lighter at nine months pregnant!!

Going to weigh in every Monday and hoping some of you lovely ladies will join me so we can keep each other motivated.

Weigh in day : 14, 6 - no change.

Not an easy week. On the positive side I have kept to over 10,000 steps each day.

I need to increase my protein and reduce the evening snacking which is really pushing my calorie totals over the limit.

Bobbiepin · 10/01/2021 16:09

I've had a rough week, last few days have been very difficult and food has fallen off. I've not weighed today but I finished my workout programme and can see some difference in pictures. I'm batch cooking for lunches this week, hoping that will keep me on track this week.

Iamclearlyamug · 10/01/2021 17:31

Good and bad news
Good - weighed in yesterday morning and lost 5lb
Bad - ruined it by eating 4 (yes 4) large white rolls with ham and cheese and almost a whole packet of chocolate digestives 🤦‍♂️😭😭 what the fuck is the matter with me

Eesha · 10/01/2021 18:08

@Iamclearlyamug firstly 5lb is amazing! I wouldn't beat myself up if I were you because you sortof know now you won't do that again. Personally I like to almost indulge on something in one go till I'm fed up of it and then I won't do it again! That way i satisfy the craving but also link the sick feeling to it!

PaddingtonB · 11/01/2021 06:38

No weight loss this week but I think I’ve lost at least an inch from my waist and at least an inch from my hips since starting. I’m about to start my period so that probably explains why no weight loss. I’ve kept going with C25K and am a bit sore from that and I think that can mean you retain water.

Fingerbobs · 11/01/2021 08:22

I am feeling a bit glum, frankly, as have been religiously 16:8-ing all week and my weight has bloody gone up! Not by that much but it is still quite disappointing, particularly when I am also doing dry January.Clearly in my 8 hours I am still stuffing in many more calories than I require. Sigh.
Ok, paying more attention this week. Onwards and DOWNwards....

2020in2020 · 11/01/2021 16:38

Lost 2lbs last week! Feeling good although first day of “proper” homeschooling and work has left me thinking getting exercise in will be pretty difficult Confused

bluebluezoo · 11/01/2021 17:14

I think about half a pound this week.

I’m not managing any exercise at all between work, homeschooling, and all our accounts, insurance, mot’s etc appear to be due this month!

Going to do a week of vlc to get some proper movement which should motivate me. Figure if I can lose a stone this lockdown by controlling food I can get back to the gym to manage the rest...

Watching Suits again at bedtime and am motivated by all the lovely clothes they wear. Would love to feel good in a nice dress again...

LostaraYil · 11/01/2021 17:32

My weight has been steadily going down every day, but today, for no apparent reason, it's up by 1kg from yesterday! I ate really healthily yesterday as well, low carb, barely any snacks, but I had an extra coffee with cream and a handful of blueberries because it was Sunday and DH was at home having breakfast. As a result I have felt like eating something every time I've been near the kitchen today! It's so easy to slide down that slippery slope and end up eating all kinds of junk, I'm just trying to hang on for today and planning getting back into routine for tomorrow. I think my morning coffee needs to be black so that I don't kick off the food cravings before lunch.

NoJetter · 11/01/2021 18:30

I’m down 2lbs since last Monday. Which I KNOW is good, and I want to lose weight at a healthy pace... but I have so much to lose. I really wish it would come down a bit faster. I’m too impatient. I’ve eaten really healthily since 2nd Jan. Just need to stick with it and not get disheartened that I haven’t lost 3 stone in a week and fall back into eating junk!

Xwvhtsghyf · 11/01/2021 19:33

I have lost 1lb so far. It seems to take forever to lose anything. Really trying to be good weekdays then Friday and Saturday have small treats (one glass of wine and some chocolate rather than a whole bag)

WutheringShites86 · 11/01/2021 22:16

Weighed in today with a 7lbs loss since I started 2weeks ago so really pleased with that but I need to not get complacent, just had a lax couple of days as my baby hasn't been sleeping well and I find it so much harder to be good when I'm sleep deprived.

Tormundsbeard · 11/01/2021 22:28

Back up to 15 stone today. I had lost some weight but got sent a big box of macarons which contributed to my gain. Also had a day when I ate lots of junk. I have had a lot of headaches this week - I am going to try and drink 2litres of water a day. It should help with headaches and also feel full. I used to do this, but have got out of the habit.

threeitchyfeet · 12/01/2021 07:23

Hello, this is my first post on Mumsnet. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been too—same weight at 9 months pregnant with DC4, and he was 11lb and had gallons of extra fluid. Weight before DC was about 8st10 to 9 st. Never changed, ate like a greedy horse. Was always wary of getting hungry because of a few low blood sugar incidents and frequent headaches.

Now: I’m old, BMI is 30.4, take Prozac which has messed with metabolism and removed the off switch for eating (pre Prozac I would binge on the usual suspects, now if I open a tin of beans while cooking I’m likely to eat them all and need to get another tin). Just thinking about dieting makes me eat more. Current weight is just over 14st, but it all sticks out the front so I’m forever being asked if I’m pregnant. Tonight I read Mr Greedy to DS and he said I was just like Mr Greedy. Sad

Bunnybigears · 12/01/2021 10:10

Yesterday was a good day food wise but I realised I didnt eat a single fruit or vegetable (apart from a jacket potato) which is really bad. Off to the supermarket tonight so need to find some veggies I like. I like fruit but tend to leave it for the kids, I need to buy more so there is enough for me as well.

cushioncovers · 12/01/2021 10:51

Well done all the weight losses.

booboomoo · 12/01/2021 10:58

Can I also join please!
I am the biggest I have ever been. I got weighed last week and was 13stone 10, but I'm only 5ft 4.
I want to lose 4 stone to get down to 9st 10. I have been dieting a week, watching the calories and trying to do a walk once a day and lost 4lb in my first week, but it's been really hard. I really want to do this as I have loads of things coming up this year and want to look my best 😊

threeitchyfeet · 12/01/2021 13:44

Hello boobomoo, sounds like we have similar start and end points.

booboomoo · 12/01/2021 14:11

@threeitchyfeet
How many times a week are you getting weighed? I'm thinking twice, maybe on a Monday and Thursday. I found this a lot tougher than I was expecting. I am studying and I usually have loads of snacks to get me through, and I'm really missing them.

YeahBabyYeahYeah · 12/01/2021 14:13

Hello all!

Nice to see so many supportive posters helping each other, hope I can join and be one Smile

I have about 5 stone to lose. I am starting with 4 weeks on lighter life and then switching to the 5:2 and generally eating much more healthily, so trying to stick to under 80g of carbs a day, which worked wonders for me in the past. Carbs are definitely my enemy. My delicious enemy!

I’ve bought the recipe book that goes with the 800 cal diet if anyone is interested; it has some really yummy looking recipes that are all around 300-400 cals and 25g carbs. But it would be easy to bulk them up for the rest of the family as well.

booboomoo · 12/01/2021 14:46

I literally love carbs and really don't want to cut them out. I am sticking just with reducing calories and exercising, but thinking this might not be enough to lose the weight. Are carbs really that bad?

YeahBabyYeahYeah · 12/01/2021 15:16

I think it depends on your body, @booboomoo. I love them too, all my favourite foods are carb heavy. But my waistline doesn’t. If you are naturally lean, chances are you are much more efficient at metabolising carbs. If you are apple shaped, chances are you aren’t, because it’s the extra insulin as your body struggles more that packs weight on the waist.

I am not a keto person, and could never be, although I know some who are evangelical about it. But you can definitely make some easy changes to reduce carbs, eg courgette fries instead of french, cauliflower crust or pitta bread pizza instead of Dominos, french baguette for a tortilla wrap or a crumpet, that sort of thing. What I did when I lost weight by reducing carbs before (I blame DS for the weight gain 🤣) was to look up delicious lower carb recipes and get excited about those instead of mourning what I couldn’t have, does that make sense? Also save your carbs for your favourites, so if you really can’t give up chocolate, you have some allowance for it. Does that make sense?

YeahBabyYeahYeah · 12/01/2021 15:17

Sorry, typing on a phone isn’t good, didn’t mean to ask twice if I made sense! Also I meant to swap the french baguette for a small wrap or crumpet, not the other way around, lol

Stovetopespresso · 12/01/2021 20:18

1.5 kilos off since I first posted, combo of 5:2 a bit more exercise and being good

Stovetopespresso · 12/01/2021 20:22

@NoJetter thats really great, 2lb is amazing! just think in 3 weeks you'll be half a whole stone lighter! measuring your waist can be encouraging too, i did that
