Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?

PrincessConsuelaBH · 12/10/2020 21:09

So I have approx. 15lbs to lose to get back to my comfortable weight and for my clothes to fit! Thanks to lockdown and a toddler that still doesn't sleep meaning I rely on sugar to get me through the day...

I'm aiming to break it up into 3 5lb mini goals so I don't feel like it's unmanageable before I ever start Grin

Nothing faddy, just planning to make better choices with my food, plan more, and move more too. I have some short-ish term goals that I'm hoping will be enough motivation for me to shift the weight 👶🏻

Anyone want to join? I'd be happy to keep a list going (if there's not too many of us!) to record our weights and losses if anyone would want that too.

Morning everyone! I have no news. I weigh daily, I've been good all week but just maintained. I've mostly got the eating habits sense portions licked, but last night I made a veg curry and ate two massive portions. It was reasonably healthy and I enjoyed it but I'm not going to weigh myself this morning just in case. Isn't that silly!

BrimfulOfBaba · 21/11/2020 10:09

@PurpleDaisies, a day like that is definitely not one for watching what you eat. Hope you feel better Flowers

Sorry about the knee pain, @Jemenfouscompletement. Do you have lower impact stuff you can do?

Haha @bellinique, the amount of times I wish I had lost weight for signing up to something/not eating a particularly decadent thing.

I did an hour on the cross trainer last night and an abs circuit, because we wanted to order burgers for dinner. Which we did and I thoroughly enjoyed. It will be the one treat meal of the week and I have so far managed to avoid alcohol. Feeling stronger and leaner, I hope I manage to finish this week on a strong note!

PurpleDaisies · 21/11/2020 10:23

Thanks everyone. It was unfortunate that I felt really nauseous all day and the only way to help was eating. I feel knackered today but less pain which is good. Dh has been out to buy me a posh coffee and instead of crisps has got some fancy houmous chip things which are more diet friendly. He has earned some serious brownie points!

The plan for today is to try a short walk and aim for vaguely healthy eating. I’ve got stuff for avocado on toast for lunch and a cauliflower Thai-type curry for dinner.

@BrimfulOfBaba those burgers were well earned and @dudsville your veg curry sounds delicious. @RebeccaNoodles hope you can have a restful day to make up for your night. Hello to everyone who has posted on the previous page of the thread and I can’t read right now!

Oxyiz · 21/11/2020 18:42

Hope you've had a good day @RebeccaNoodles, I always find when I'm exhausted I just need to eat more.

I've messed up today with some chocolate brownie which my husband banked, two Milky Ways and a Hotel Chocolat hot chocolate ... but what the hell, they were lovely, and its a marathon not a sprint etc etc, so I'm not going to beat myself up.

General question, do you think daily or weekly weigh-ins are best?

RebeccaNoodles · 21/11/2020 18:50

Thanks @Oxyiz it's been a struggle! I basically always find tired = hungry abs I've been ravenous. But I've done my best to be mindful today, it helped knowing I'd have to report back to you all!
I find daily weighing is best for me to keep in track but with weekly goals. That's just me.. Does this group have a day fit weekly weigh ins?

DownUdderer · 21/11/2020 22:08

I think we report weightloss on a Monday.

NibbleQueen · 22/11/2020 08:12

Not looking forward to weigh in tomorrow... I have been counting calories and went VERY over my allowance both Friday and Saturday. The main culprit was wine and cake but I felt both of these things were essential at the time.

I guess in future I should have just one drinking day over the weekend rather than 2.. No baking plans are upcoming so smaller treats too (a little 150 slice each day of mr kipling's opposed to a stonking big 500cal wedge of cake)

PurpleDaisies · 22/11/2020 09:29

I’m going to skip the weigh in tomorrow-period/codeine side effects mean it’s meaningless and unnecessarily depressing!

There’s some lovely sunshine here so I’m hoping to get out for a walk later. For food, it’s beetroot bourgignon for lunch and a small portion of leftover curry for dinner.

momo3w · 22/11/2020 18:52

Hi all 👋🏼
Just checking back in - great to read all the progress with dropping dress sizes and being close to goals! And sorry to read of the endo, injuries and slow or stalled progress but it’s all part of it. Lost the weight I gained the week prior but back at my holding weight it seems so really need to push this week to get out of the 70s!

Oxyiz · 22/11/2020 20:21

How's everyone doing? Today has not been grand diet-wise. I didn't sleep well and then DH wanted a foodie sort of day. Ended up eating 2,500 calories, which is higher than any other day since I started recording in August Sad.

But then hopefully I can work it off again, and it is important to just live occasionally isn't it?

bellinique · 22/11/2020 21:02

I'm really not sure how I'm doing. I don't feel any slimmer but I have been really trying my absolute best not to eat a lot.

I won't be surprised if I haven't lost any weight tomorrow based on how I feel but I will still be shocked that this is how much I can eat it I want to maintain.

I even ran a little on my walk today.

teaandtoast49 · 22/11/2020 21:49

I would love to join!
I need to lose around 10 pounds which has crept on over the past year. Good luck to everyone, we can do this! Flowers

DownUdderer · 23/11/2020 02:44

I've had a walk across the beach today, I did 7.5km. It's quite hard going on sand, I'm sure it uses more calories than a normal walk!

I'm just a pound from goal weight and I can't wait to shift it!

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 23/11/2020 07:40

70.7Kg
500g lost
3.9K lost since we started weigh ins

Not as much as I hoped as I have had some really good days with exercise and frugal food. Especially yesterday, but the weight loss seems to lag a couple of days behind the effort, so I might see a better drop tomorrow. Anyway, the equivalent of 2 packs of butter shed.

Welcome TeaAndToast (especially the teaWink). Great walk DownUdderer, you are doing so well!

Good luck everyone!

swampytiggaa · 23/11/2020 07:47

I seem to be stuck at 9st 11lb. Think I’m going to start taking measurements again and see if that’s any different. Plus I’m going to look for a basic weight program I can do to go alongside the running

Gordonsgrin · 23/11/2020 08:32

Monday means weigh-in! I am 9 st 7.5 lbs today so 1.75 down. Weekly loss def slowing but I am quite happy with progress.
I hope all you fellow losers are down ok.

Oxyiz · 23/11/2020 10:19

I put on 1.5 pounds overnight Blush From looking online, I don't think that's quite possible even after over-eating, so I'm going to discount it as salt/water-weight, and treat this week as a 'maintain'.

Well done to everyone who's lost (even a bit)!

PrincessConsuelaBH · 23/11/2020 10:27

Hello all! Hope everyone is well Smile

Sorry I've been absent this last week or so - my MH has been a bit up and down so I've had less screen time and practised a bit of self care. Nothing major just a wobble Grin

I'll be more present this week all being well, will have a read over what I've missed later today!

Weighed in at 10.4 this morning so I've maintained which is good considering I've been eating some of my feelings 😂

Will check in again later! Wishing you all a wonderful day.

BrimfulOfBaba · 23/11/2020 10:44

Still at 9st5.4 today but more than happy with that for now. When this thread started I was about 9st8 and in July I was 9st13.

Even though it's taking some time, this is the longest consistent block of time that I've been 'trying' for years and the happiest I've been with my progress since moving away from my home city and my personal trainer (and personal trainer budget!). I still have a whole stone to lose to get to my goal but I feel ok with this pace to get there.

Sending you Flowers @PrincessConsuelaBH, glad you've been practicing self care.

@Oxyiz, most certainly water weight, gosh our bodies are so weird.

Welcome @teaandtoast49!

Well done everyone - if you're happy with where you are, that's a massive win in itself!

bellinique · 23/11/2020 10:46

Hello everyone!

I've lost 0.8 of a pound again this week. I'm pleased to have lost but getting a bit fed up of the slow progress.

I'm 9st 2.8 today. I was hoping to be under 9st by December but that's looking very unlikely now. I've lost about half a stone in total though and I'm trying to focus on that rather than the tiny amounts each week.

@PrincessConsuelaBH no need to apologise, it's important to look after your MH. I hope you're doing ok Thanks

PurpleDaisies · 23/11/2020 11:05

Disappointing week here which was entirely to be expected given it’s a period week and I’ve not been feeling well. I’m counting this as an anomaly though and I’m determined next week will be a good one.

Well done everyone who’s managed to keep going, whether that’s up, down or staying the same.

teaandtoast49 · 23/11/2020 11:17

Thank you so much for the welcomes!

I really would like to get 5 pounds at least off by Christmas but I'm not convinced that I will be able to stay strong around all that festive food. I'm hoping to have a good week this week at least to get the ball rolling.

Good luck to everyone, remember you are all absolutely beautiful no matter how far along you are on your journey, etc Flowers

Theredjellybean · 23/11/2020 11:30

I weighed 71.4 today
Really pleased but it is hard.. I am nearly menopausal and need under 1000 calories a day just to stay same.
But tightened up things by stopping wine.. That has made me feel generally better all over.
@PrincessConsuelaBH... Sending good vibes, hugs, virt flowers, bubble baths and long walks in the countryside... Be kind to yourself.

Thedogshow · 23/11/2020 11:36

Can I join too please, a bit late? Have around 12lbs to lose, but will take 7lbs. Have gained and lost about 5lbs endlessly over the last year.

I am the top end of the healthy weight bracket but have type 2 diabetes, so need to lose belly fat. All the weight I gain goes on my stomach.

Aiming for 9st7lb, currently 10st 4.

RebeccaNoodles · 23/11/2020 18:11

Well done to everyone on all the progress! StarStar @PurpleDaisies hope you feel better, I have endo too and it's awful.
@BrimfulOfBaba well done that's amazing progress.
@Thedogshow are you me? Same exact figures and journey! And I'm new too ( thanks for the welcomes!)
Not a great week for me and I'm back at 10 stone 4 my Groundhog weight. But the running habit is fixed now so I'm going to try and make this one a better one or at least not let a bad day turn into a bad week 💪🏼
