Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?

So I have approx. 15lbs to lose to get back to my comfortable weight and for my clothes to fit! Thanks to lockdown and a toddler that still doesn't sleep meaning I rely on sugar to get me through the day...

I'm aiming to break it up into 3 5lb mini goals so I don't feel like it's unmanageable before I ever start Grin

Nothing faddy, just planning to make better choices with my food, plan more, and move more too. I have some short-ish term goals that I'm hoping will be enough motivation for me to shift the weight 👶🏻

Anyone want to join? I'd be happy to keep a list going (if there's not too many of us!) to record our weights and losses if anyone would want that too.

Thank you @PurpleDaisies!

The cat is only one and technically still developing so some weight gain is expected but I too am worried about a telling off from the vet when we go for his booster jab as I'm not the only one who has developed a wobbly tummy over the last few months!

A tubby guinea pig sounds very cute and those brownies sound delicious!

Hi everyone, have just checked back in - the usual ups for some and downs for others but lovely support, advice and encouragement from everyone as usual 🥰

I’ve stalled a lot this week, had just been maintaining but this morning was a big gain and I’m just feeling really frustrated with the process. Ive never needed to lose so much weight or had it be so hard to lose. I’ve been exercising and eating minimally this week but quality of food hasn’t been great so I’ve probably eaten more fat, salt and sugar than previous weeks. I had lost almost 5kg but none of my close friends and family - even hubby - had noticed and it’s just made me realise how much more I’ve got to go. Anyway, I’m determined to carry on and not give in to temptations to make today a write off and ‘start again tomorrow’.

Hope everyone is keeping safe and sane, especially those of you in lockdown.

I have just drank a year's worth of calories in a cocktails zoom call with my oldest dearest friends
Think it was worth it to just hear and speak to them.

momo3w · 15/11/2020 18:36

Up almost 1kg to 72.2 so pretty disheartened. Anyway, onwards and hopefully not upwards.

Theredjellybean · 15/11/2020 20:38

Momo... I will be too tomorrow.
I have been starving all day craving carbs.. Not like me...
Eaten way way too much
Then period started.. First for four months.. I guess that was what food cravings were today.
I also had three calorific cocktails last night..
Its going to be train crash on the scales..
I am trying to be philosophical about it....

Jemenfouscompletement · 15/11/2020 21:59

Me too. It it's any comfort I'm the worst here by far. I run 80 miles a week and still put on weight. That is serious evening over eating and drinking 😳

DownUdderer · 16/11/2020 02:05

I've had a little week end away (I'm in Australia, sorry everyone in lockdown). It was lovely, but I just ate whatever without thinking. To be honest it was good to switch off diet mode. I've been losing weight since September. I've done well, I'm happy with it, but it can become boring. But I enjoyed myself and I'm happy to refocus this week. I'm up 2lb. That's ok, not the end of the world but I'm actually proud that I'm facing it straight away instead of ignoring it for a month like I'd have done in the past!

I'm just 3lb from goal weight.

I've had a hike today, not very long but it's super hot.

I always listen to audiobooks. I get them for free from the library but also have audible, you have to pay, but during the month you can buy audiobooks on special offer, usually $2 or $3. I really helps and forces me to 'switch off'. It's good for my mental health!

I had a good couple of swims in the sea this weekend, so lovely!

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 16/11/2020 07:02

71.2Kg

Half a Kg loss this week
3.3Kg loss since we started weigh ins
11.5Kg loss since I started my ‘get fit, stop snacking, eat healthier’ outlook in mid-May.

Momo going up a Kg after losing still leaves you better off than if you hadn’t lost any because you would have out the extra on anyway. So you are still ahead of yourself.

I’m feeling good about 500g loss this week, I had a Lindt Choc Reindeer incident mid week, and have enjoyed some nice red wine.

But I’ve been on slow and steady anyway.

Momo same with me with anyone noticing, then all of a sudden people started to go ‘wow, you look fantastic, have you lost weight?’. But the main thing is that you appreciate your own health. Have a good week this week.

PurpleDaisies · 16/11/2020 08:01

I’ve stayed steady this week. 1.5kg down altogether, 0.5kg from goal. Period is due tomorrow so think that’s affected it and I’m pretty confident going to see the final goal weight next week.

Ingridla · 16/11/2020 08:27

I'm in at 10'3. I was v good all week but had a fairly relaxed weekend so am pleased!

Gordonsgrin · 16/11/2020 08:36

Logging my stats. Down 2.25 lbs another steady loss for me, now weighing in a 9 st 9.25lbs, so just under. Stone loss since is started in September.

Well done everyone this week, special kudos to those who’ve haven't seen the loss the entire but a sticking with the plan!

BrimfulOfBaba · 16/11/2020 09:10

I've had a bad week and decided not to weigh myself today. Will be spending some time getting my plans in order!

Not too upset as I'm happy with the progress I can see and feel, but clearly need to work on my habits!

PrincessConsuelaBH · 16/11/2020 09:11

Morning all!

Been a little while since I've checked in - have actually missed it Grin we've been very busy in the house, bought a doer-upper at the start of the lockdown (madness) and we're living in it now but still a little way to go.

I'm weighing in at 10.4 this week, so 1lb gain since the other day but 4lb loss overall. Slow but steady I guess?! Off again this week so going to try and fit in lots of long walks and lots of college work so I can have a positive one again Smile

Well done to everyone who's happy with their numbers, and please don't be disheartened to those who aren't! It's a new week remember, let's make it a good one!

swampytiggaa · 16/11/2020 10:05

Average weight for last week stayed the same just under 9st 11lb. Hoping for a loss during this week but happy that I didn’t have my hormonal gain 🙂

bellinique · 16/11/2020 10:44

Morning all

9st 3.4lbs today, so I've lost half a pound since last week but am still half a pound up on the week before, despite having a strict couple of weeks food-wise and some exercise (a rarity for me).

This is feeling like such slow going, especially in contrast to the first couple of weeks. I can't believe this is how little I can eat to pretty much maintain.

I've decided to carry on until December and then let myself go a bit and enjoy the Christmas treats. I'll no doubt be back to square one and starting this all over again in the new year!

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 16/11/2020 12:40

BrimfulOfBaba Yeah, don't be upset! You're doing well.

What's your game plan that you're getting in order?

Mine, based on last week, is "Do not buy Lindt Choc Reindeer for DC stocking early just because you save 50p in Tesco. And especially do not now buy a replacement. Just wait til Dec 23rd, at the earliest"

Good one Princess C - it's overall that counts.4lb is a quarter of a Stone!

Bellinique - you will see a bigger difference soon, I bet. It doesn't seem to be a straight line graph.

Jemenfouscompletement · 16/11/2020 13:35

@RainingBatsAndFrogs what you said about the chocolate, it's piled high in all the French supermarkets this time of year and sadly not cordoned off with the toys and other things that can't be sold during the lockdown here. I love Lindt Pyrenées but haven't bought any yet.
Well done to everyone who lost - I stayed the same as last week, but wasn't very good last week. As it's my birthday on Wednesday that will be a write off too. After I will make more effort in the time leading up to Christmas. Less red wine, chocolate, cheese and almonds.

Theredjellybean · 16/11/2020 15:06

I was 72.8
So a kilo gain..
It is fair really as did not do well over weekend...
But I agree with momo.. Its so little food to lose... And very cross with my menopause as thought I was there and now got first period in four months.
Blah
Weather here rubbish. So talked myself out of running today
I will go tomorrow. I have still lost overall so sticking with you guys

BrimfulOfBaba · 16/11/2020 15:20

Oooh good luck @RainingBatsAndFrogs, you can resist the siren song of those reindeer!!

Game plan is to change up my standard meals as I was getting very bored of them, and to plan easier/quicker meals for the evening so that there's no excuse to get out of my evening workouts. Have just planned our meals, my workout schedule and gotten DP on side re: takeaways!

Hope you're enjoying setting the house up @PrincessConsuelaBH - in a similar position! It can be such a good distraction.

Well done to everyone who was happy with the scale reading this morning! To those not as happy, don't worry, we'll get there. Fingers crossed I'll be brave enough to step on next week!

momo3w · 16/11/2020 18:16

@RainingBatsAndFrogs Yes you’re right, have to keep things in perspective! Good luck with avoiding those pesky reindeer!

@bellinique “This is feeling like such slow going, especially in contrast to the first couple of weeks. I can't believe this is how little I can eat to pretty much maintain” YES TO THIS! Ridiculous.

Jemenfouscompletement · 16/11/2020 19:51

I can't believe this is how little I can eat to pretty much maintain.
So true, especially when you hit the menopause. I'd be down to one meal a day if I didn't run.

dudsville · 16/11/2020 21:33

Checking in! I've maintained this week, no loss no gain. I watched it happening so I'm not surprised. I've been eating recklessly, I am going to make more of an effort this week. I never did look into the dance app, work just takes over, and the weather, and the comfy clothes and sofa and food... we should have done this in March! But, this is good practice, I can do this in March, but I also need to do it now. I had scrambled eggs with only 1 toast instead of two for breakfast. I had veggie sticks and hummus for lunch - I usually scoff when I hear people eating like that but it was tasty and I felt good for it. I had fruit, greek yogurt and nuts for a snack and a handful of dumplings (itsu) for dinner. I want to lose weight in my calves. Is that an impossible dream?

BrimfulOfBaba · 17/11/2020 00:35

Jumping on the "I can only eat HOW many calories to simply maintain my weight?!" train!

I've given myself today off and spent the evening prepping my meals for the next couple of days so that I have less excuses to plump for takeaways. Halloumi and Israeli cous cous for lunch and bean chilli for dinners. The rest of the dinners this evening will be really simple things as I will hopefully be working out every night this week!

My Friday night wine usually leads to a terrible weekend, so will be avoiding that hopefully.

BrimfulOfBaba · 17/11/2020 00:36

This week not this evening. Not even I could have multiple dinners in a day!

DownUdderer · 17/11/2020 02:35

I've had prawns for lunch. Yum.
