Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?

PrincessConsuelaBH · 12/10/2020 21:09

So I have approx. 15lbs to lose to get back to my comfortable weight and for my clothes to fit! Thanks to lockdown and a toddler that still doesn't sleep meaning I rely on sugar to get me through the day...

I'm aiming to break it up into 3 5lb mini goals so I don't feel like it's unmanageable before I ever start Grin

Nothing faddy, just planning to make better choices with my food, plan more, and move more too. I have some short-ish term goals that I'm hoping will be enough motivation for me to shift the weight 👶🏻

Anyone want to join? I'd be happy to keep a list going (if there's not too many of us!) to record our weights and losses if anyone would want that too.

2 miles done after work this morning 🙂 2 more running club meets before lockdown 😢

I won’t be furloughed as I work in a supermarket home delivery section. It’s going to go mad 😂😂

18.5 hours into my fast. Considering breaking it with a mince pie 😂😂

BrimfulOfBaba · 01/11/2020 13:48

Feeling a bit sluggish today, hoping to get a really good workout in. I had a big brekkie to prepare myself and dinner could go one of two ways - either a good balanced szechuan tofu stir fry, or a big frozen pizza and garlic bread. My period is due so hoping to stay on track and beat the bloat for tomorrow's weigh in!

Frogsandsheep · 01/11/2020 14:29

Today started well but I had a stressful morning at church (I’m a vicar) got home and cried into 3 packets of crisps!
I’m going for a long dog walk now and had a very healthy breakfast and lunch.

momo3w · 01/11/2020 19:05

Love this thread and how reaffirming it is that it’s all normal and all ok - periods, work, stress, kids, pets, special days of the year, on/off, ups/downs - all part of it!

I weighed in at 71.9kg, down 1.7kgs so a good week! Feel like I’m getting in to a grove a bit.

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 01/11/2020 20:05

Have been doing v well with eating - in fact yesterday I thought I probably hadn't eaten enough, so had a couple of oatcakes as a snack.

Today:
Brunch: One slice of cheese on toast (easy on the cheese) with tomato salad (drizzle of olive oil) and green leaves.

Small mug of cocoa.

Meatballs (less than 200Cals), with a modest amount of pasta and some tomato-based sauce and broccoli.
Glass red wine.

Gym session this morning.

Aaargh about the gym closing. I had just got into the zone of the gym, finding it far less enjoyable than swimming in the outdoor pool. Will have to adopt a lockdown regime.

Theredjellybean · 01/11/2020 20:21

Not hopeful for tomorrow
Has friends over last night.. Lots of wine
Today steak and chips at local pub.. First time in two years my dsd has eaten out.. Big big challenge... I could not order a salad.. Had to have reasonably normal meal... But her managing this is worth a pound on to me..

momo3w · 01/11/2020 21:33

@Theredjellybean That’s a huge accomplishment and you seem to have just the right approach, the right support is everything in ED recovery 🙌🏼

DownUdderer · 02/11/2020 02:37

I've done a 9km walk across the beach today, walking on sand is a pretty good work out. I baked cupcakes yesterday but I haven't tried them, the kids said they tasted good so I'm happy with that. I just couldn't be bothered by the time I'd faffed around making buttercream icing. Once I've been in the kitchen a certain amount of time I get fed up with it all!

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 02/11/2020 07:32

72.2 Kg. 0.8 Kg loss this week, 2.3Kg loss since starting the weigh ins. Loving the progress.

Jellybean: so pleased you all were able to go for a meal, and I hope you enjoyed it. Anyway keeping a check on the overall picture is so that we can celebrate and enjoy family times with food, not to live like monks doing penance on meagre rations all out lives!

DownUdderer, your walk sounds fantastic, very envious!

My weight loss and fitness campaign at the moment is all about wanting a body that can support my joy of hill and fell walking, coastal walks. And though I have got down to not eating much, I do eat things I enjoy. I bought a ludicrously expensive bottle of ‘single olive’ artisan olive oil, and the flavour, drizzled over anything, is so intense and gorgeous: joy!

Have a great weigh in Monday, everyone, whatever it may bring!

dudsville · 02/11/2020 08:04

Morning everyone, happy Monday!

Hi Frogsandsheep, I'm late but want to join in on the welcome! It sounds like you're going through a tough time. There's some lovely positive inspiration on this thread and it's very accepting of the fact that we all need to cry into a bag or 3 of crisps from time to time.

Theredjellybean, you and your daughter sound like your doing an amazing job!

I've had a weekend of gluttony, in addition to the beer and pizza I had to cram in a meal out owing to the lockdown announcement. I've had dinner both evenings instead of doing the little fasts. BUT I was able to get in lots of walks. Ive got another 3lb loss!

Gordonsgrin · 02/11/2020 08:07

After a difficult week for all sorts of reasons I am happy to report a 3.75 lb loss. Hurrah, especially as it could have gone either way.

Start weight 11 st 7lbs
Last week 10 st 4lbs
This week 10 st 0.75lbs

Hope everyone gets encouraging numbers on the scales today...

swampytiggaa · 02/11/2020 08:12

Another lb off for me 🙂 average weight last week was 9:11 🙂

Fingers crossed I stay going down... period is due in about a week so things might start going a bit wonky...

PrincessConsuelaBH · 02/11/2020 08:23

I've weighed in at 10 stone 5 this morning, so I've maintained since last week - I'll grab that with both hands as my diet really has been disastrous!!!

My plan while I'm off while be to get me and DD wrapped up everyday, pop her in her Pram and get us out for a long walk! Hopefully that'll help with a loss next week. Have also got my shopping in ready to collect later today and there's lots of veggies and very little 'treat' stuff on there.

Good luck everyone else weighing today! Well done to those who already have Smile

9 stone 7.6 this morning. Was about 9st11 last week. Really starting to notice a physical difference which is...exciting but weird.

@theredjellybean, what a wonderful support you are being to your DS. Food is more than whatever it does or doesnt do to our bodies, its community and enjoyment too, I'm glad your DS has you.

@frogsandsheep, I hope you're ok. Can certainly empathise with the needing cry into packs (multipacks in my case) of crisps. Hope the walk helped.

Well done everyone who has lost/is maintaining. And don't stress if you haven't! This is a new week.

Ingridla · 02/11/2020 08:33

I've just weighed in & am stuck at 10st 4 it seems!

I guess I need to to really up the exercise. Gah.

Theredjellybean · 02/11/2020 09:00

I weighed 72.3 kg
So that's 3.2 kgs off in total.
Really pleased.. And thank you so much for all the lovely supportive comments about my dsd. Her mother just denied there was anything wrong, so she pretty much lives with us now, luckily we had a great relationship prior to her eating disorder started.. And I love her unconditionally like my own daughters.
It is tricky though as I don't always want to eat at her set meal times, etc.. But every step towards recovery is worth it... ☺
It just means I can't talk about food, calories, wright etc at home, so glad I can here...

PurpleDaisies · 02/11/2020 09:02

I’m steady from last week so firm 1.8kg overall. I’ve lost 2 inches off my waist though! Very pleased about that.

swampytiggaa · 02/11/2020 09:07

Well done everyone! What a lovely supportive group we have here 🙂

momo3w · 02/11/2020 09:32

This really is a fantastic thread and I’m so glad I stumbled across it! 🙌🏼

Jemenfouscompletement · 02/11/2020 09:46

Hi everyone, is it too late to join? This seems such a lovely thread. And so nice to see other people have just a little weight to lose, I always feel guilty about posting on weighloss threads where people immediately say you aren't overweight. But I'm a runner and it's easier to run when lighter.
I jumped on the scales this morning and have hit 60kgs which means it's time to do a diet. I want to lost 3kgs and get back to a BMI of 19 max and with lockdown I'm not sure I can do it alone!
I run 10 miles every morning, never eat before midday but still manage to put on weight. I drink wine, eat lots of almonds, cheese and chocolate so that's probably why. Am planning on going AF in the week and eating low carb which should hopefully help.

bellinique · 02/11/2020 10:23

Good morning everyone

I am astonished to say that I have lost another 2 lbs (now at 9st 3lbs). So that's a total of 6.5 lbs in the last 2 weeks.

I was so sure I'd messed it up with the chips, sausages, cake etc this weekend but I guess the strictness during the week somehow balanced it out.

I'm feeling motivated to carry on and lose the last few pounds now. There is still cake in the fridge though...

Very well done to everyone for the losses/maintains/supporting others this week Thanks

Welcome! I feel the same about other weight loss threads... I just want to get back to about 9.5 stones which is what I always weighed until peri menopause hit me 🙂

I run as well - not fast but I try to run every day and currently clocking up about 100 miles a month. I do intermittent fasting so I don’t eat before 12 or after 8 but usually have a smaller eating window. I rarely drink as I have to get up at 4am for work 😭😭 but chocolate fingers are my downfall

Jemenfouscompletement · 02/11/2020 10:54

@swampytiggaa nice to see another runner! I see you lead a running club - I belong to one and enjoy running there and with friends but I'll be solo with the dog for the next 4 weeks. I live in France and we are restricted to one hour exercise a day within 1km of the house but sod that as I live in the countryside and see more deer than people in the mornings!
4am is early...I work for myself so hours more flexible. I've been in the menopause for at least 4 years, sport definitely makes it more bearable. When not in running clothes I live in jeans and they are on the tight side now. As all mine are skinny jeans they aren't very comfortable!

swampytiggaa · 02/11/2020 11:03

I lead a group within a bigger running club 🙂 we are the group who wouldn’t normally dream of joining a running club 😂😂 our heroes are the teletubbies 😂😂 we can usually be found coming in last at races then eating lots of cake and thoroughly enjoying ourselves 🙂

swampytiggaa · 02/11/2020 11:06

@Jemenfouscompletement here we are coming in triumphantly last in a couple of races we were able to do earlier this year 🙂
