Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?

So I have approx. 15lbs to lose to get back to my comfortable weight and for my clothes to fit! Thanks to lockdown and a toddler that still doesn't sleep meaning I rely on sugar to get me through the day...

I'm aiming to break it up into 3 5lb mini goals so I don't feel like it's unmanageable before I ever start Grin

Nothing faddy, just planning to make better choices with my food, plan more, and move more too. I have some short-ish term goals that I'm hoping will be enough motivation for me to shift the weight 👶🏻

Anyone want to join? I'd be happy to keep a list going (if there's not too many of us!) to record our weights and losses if anyone would want that too.

@swampytiggaa I'm at that stage in my cycle where that is my dream day of eating Grin I usually treat myself to a KFC extravaganza on the first/worst day of my period, but I've seen some vegan alternatives that deliver locally that I may try (going off chicken after reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer!).

I wasn't very hungry this morning, had one slice of toast with butter and marmite. But I regret that now! I forgot to prep lunch, not realising we wouldn't have water today due to plumbing works. Am reliant on whatever my DP brings back from the shop on his lunch break, and I am huuuungry!

Dinner will be the mattar paneer and rice I was meant to have yesterday, if my lunch is around 450ish cals I'll be on track. And a single serving bottle of wine in an effort to curb my usual Friday behaviour Blush. Hoping to do some training today, too.

Has anyone been experiencing non-weight related victories? I'm a big fan of celebrating those as much as meeting weight goals. Mine today is that I am wearing leggings and a hoodie and my tummy isn't pressing out!

swampytiggaa · 30/10/2020 12:38

My work trousers are loose 🙂

@swampytiggaa

My work trousers are loose 🙂
Amazing 🎉
BrimfulOfBaba · 30/10/2020 12:57

Oh dear he's arrived with a 600+ calorie microwave lamb curry!! A nice one at least. Suppose I will HAVE to train tonight!

swampytiggaa · 30/10/2020 18:52

Had egg and chips for tea and started my fast at 6pm 🙂 going to sew my sea creature together to take my mind off chocolate fingers 😂😂

momo3w · 30/10/2020 19:26

Clearer skin and more energy are my non scale victories. A few more kg and I think I’ll start to see more physical results but in general I feel happier and healthier!

Theredjellybean · 30/10/2020 21:42

I was 71.8 kg on scales today... And sleeping better now nit drinking wine.
I did have small sqauew of flapjack this afternoon as I have to supervise my dsd eating her snack ( she has a severe eating disorder) and she finds it easier if we eat too... I don't usually do snacks with her, she knows I don't need the same calories as her... But flapjack was huge challenge food so I wanted to help.
It was frigging delish.

BrimfulOfBaba · 30/10/2020 21:54

That's great @momo3w :) so rewarding.

@swampytiggaa haha need to find a way to keep my hands busy! Predictably gone off my plan today but trying to keep it within my calorie limit for today.

@theredjellybean that is such a lovely way to support your dsd. hope she is doing well!

DownUdderer · 31/10/2020 00:04

Flapjack is my absolute favorite! When I get to target I'm going to eat a whole tray of flapjack!! I love the edge where it goes a little bit harder!

I'm down 7lb for the month of October. I had planned 4lb. I'm getting close to goal weight, just 3lb to go. I've still got this muffin top though, I think after reaching goal weight I'll need the new challenge of doing some exercise to tone up. My legs are in the shape of my life from hiking, I enjoy it so it's not a challenge, but getting the muffin top to go will be the new task!

Sea creature and unimpressed cat 😂😂

Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?
PurpleDaisies · 31/10/2020 09:22

Gorgeous sea creature and gorgeous cat.

The weather is utterly disgusting here so I’m thinking of binning my run for an online yoga class. My bottom hurts after yesterday’s HIIT!

My excess period 0.5kg has now gone. I’m not sure I’ll be down any more on Monday but I’m pleased it looks like it will be a better week than last week.

BrimfulOfBaba · 31/10/2020 09:22

Wow sea creature is adorable! Cat is beautiful, of course :)

swampytiggaa · 31/10/2020 11:08

Got in from work I’m ready for my run (on the treadmill)

2 miles and I’ve done 100 for the month again 🙂

See you on the other side 😂😂

dudsville · 31/10/2020 11:42

I've had a couple of heavy work days, they were good for keeping me active and the scales have been lower than I've seen in ages. However, I over did it last night with beer and extra food, and tonight is the longed for pizza... I hope I can reign everything back in time for Monday morning!

swampytiggaa · 31/10/2020 11:49

100 miles in October done ✅ (160km = 100 miles)

Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?
momo3w · 31/10/2020 19:36

@swampytiggaa Congratulations! 100miles in a month is so impressive! And very clever sea creature!

Enjoy that pizza @dudsville 🤤

I’ve completed week one of the strength/hiit workout programme I‘be started and I feel great. The rower came yesterday so I did 20 min on that post workout and everything burned! Halloween here last night and we bought so many chocs/lollies in anticipation but hardly anyone came so we have so much leftover that I will try to avoid eating to get rid of!

Aiming for a yoga workout and maybe jump on the rower but ultimately want today to be a rest day, it’s started with a much needed sleep in!

Happyface120 · 31/10/2020 19:59

@swampytiggaa that is incredible! You have inspired me to aim for 100km in november. Maybe next year I will manage 100 miles!

BrimfulOfBaba · 31/10/2020 22:14

@swampytiggaa that is amazing! In serious awe!

That's brilliant @momo3w, and I'll be having the same trouble with the halloween surplus!

Relish that pizza @dudsville.

I finally made and ate the curry I had planned for days ago and have achieved my deficit (basically by staying on the cross trainer until my Fitbit said I'd burned enough calories!)

Frogsandsheep · 31/10/2020 22:18

Is it too late to join? I’d like to lose 10lb which doesn’t sound like much but it’s a dress size! I’m suffering with depression at the moment and feeling lonely and unmotivated

BrimfulOfBaba · 31/10/2020 23:00

Welcome @frogsandsheep :) I think it's fair to say a lot of us have found this a friendly, motivating thread, so hope it's the same for you!

DownUdderer · 01/11/2020 01:47

@Frogsandsheep welcome!

I'm down 7lb for October! I'm quite surprised and happy and relieved! I just need to shift 3lb to reach goal.

Yesterday I wore my goal skirt! I was so shocked it fit.

bellinique · 01/11/2020 02:43

So after a pretty good working week I have fallen off the wagon a bit! Fish fingers and chips for dinner on Friday (thanks supermarket substitution - it would have been healthy fish honest), followed by Halloween bangers and mash and cake today...

There's sausages and cake left over so I'm not sure how well tomorrow will go but if I can even just maintain last week's loss then I will be happy.

Well done to everyone else who's doing better than me and hello to new joiners!

Frogsandsheep · 01/11/2020 07:54

Thanks for the welcome. I’m starting today 😀

PrincessConsuelaBH · 01/11/2020 10:13

Hi all 👋🏻

Apologies for being absent a couple of days - busy at work, and Halloween with the kids etc.

I'd been doing so well but it's all gone to pot a little bit - too much chocolate, pumpkin spice bagels, and naughty teas! I'll be lucky to even maintain this week I think, which is disappointing 😕

BUT lockdown means I'll be off work until December, so I'm hoping to use that time for lots of self care - walks in the fresh air and prepping nice veggie meals for DH getting home from work.

@swampytiggaa well done for reaching the 100 miles, you've done so well! ⭐️

@Frogsandsheep welcome, thanks for joining us Smile weigh day is Monday - if you check back in tomorrow I'll add you to The List. Sorry to hear you're suffering with your mental health, I can empathise. Hope this helps! We're a cracking lot if I do say so myself, there'll be lots of support here for you Grin

@bellinique I'm torn between being sorry that you've fallen off the wagon too but glad I'm not alone! Next week is our week 💪🏻

OP posts:
bellinique · 01/11/2020 11:54

@PrincessConsuelaBH ah no, you're definitely not alone!

I'm telling myself it's ok because this weekend is sort of a celebration with it being Halloween... Spiced pumpkin bagels sound so delicious!

And yes, we'll be back on the cottage cheese next week!
