Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?

PrincessConsuelaBH · 12/10/2020 21:09

So I have approx. 15lbs to lose to get back to my comfortable weight and for my clothes to fit! Thanks to lockdown and a toddler that still doesn't sleep meaning I rely on sugar to get me through the day...

I'm aiming to break it up into 3 5lb mini goals so I don't feel like it's unmanageable before I ever start Grin

Nothing faddy, just planning to make better choices with my food, plan more, and move more too. I have some short-ish term goals that I'm hoping will be enough motivation for me to shift the weight 👶🏻

Anyone want to join? I'd be happy to keep a list going (if there's not too many of us!) to record our weights and losses if anyone would want that too.

I am sincerely not good at numbers, thank you for doing this Princess!

I'm struggling a little today. I had a sleeplessness night so had additional food, small bowl of cereal and a pear. It meant my breakfast was even later and I made melted brie on toast with spinach and tomatoes. I have no idea the calories in this. I'll look at the brie package later and work it out.

Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?
swampytiggaa · 28/10/2020 12:07

Run done ✅ another one to do this evening 🙂

BrimfulOfBaba · 28/10/2020 12:30

@dudsville now you have me realising melted brie on toast is totally a thing! It looks gorgeous.

Wow, go @swampytiggaa! That is really impressive.

PurpleDaisies · 28/10/2020 12:35

I’ve been for a very quick run (as in I ran very fast when it bucketed it down halfway round) and done a 40 min HIIT class. My legs are like jelly now.

Toast for breakfast here too but with butter and marmite. I have food envy for that Brie!

Happyface120 · 28/10/2020 14:00

Thanks for the list @PrincessConsuelaBH. I do feel more accountable knowing I need to update!
Lazy morning at home but off to do c25k now. Had a shake for breakfast, soup for lunch and will have something veg heavy for dinner.
Back in work tomorrow, and on a long day, so I need to think about all 3 meals...

dudsville · 28/10/2020 18:05

Managed to pull the day back, had steamed veg and baked salmon at 4pm. I'm really loving getting back into healthy eating and eating less. I'm very much in the right frame of mind lately. Looking forward to enjoying Christmas food without going crazy.

swampytiggaa · 28/10/2020 19:37

Cheese pasty and chips for tea followed by lemon drizzle cake. Fasting now until at least 12 tomorrow.

Just been for a run... total today is just over 5.5 miles 🙂

momo3w · 28/10/2020 21:33

Nice work to all the runners!
That melted brie, tomato, spinach toast combo looks soooooo good!
I am so sore from my workouts but a good sore feeling! And the rower arrives tomorrow! 🚣‍♀️
Have been weighing daily - was unsure at first whether it would make me obsessive about it but I actually think it’s the opposite. I’m finding it a good check in and small motivation to start the day.

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 28/10/2020 21:36

Was out for dinner last night and had much food and wine, so have tried to be frugal today:
Small bowl of Bran Flakes with semi-skimmed milk
Half a carton of chicken soup (151 Cals) with one small slice of wholemeal bread and scant butter
a few spoonfuls of shredded red cabbage and carrot, with lime juice and ginger dressing
I baked potato, a tsp of butter on one half, cottage cheese on the other, 3 chiplolatas (60 cals each) and a pile of tenderstem broccoili.
I alcohol free beer - 65 cals.

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 28/10/2020 21:37

Oh, and went to the gym, but didn't stay as long as usual because it was rush hour and it felt too crowded.

DownUdderer · 29/10/2020 01:13

Brie on toast! Oh wow that looks lush! Also lime juice and ginger dressing sounds amazing!

Congrats to all work outs! It's impressive. I keep to walking or hiking for my exercise. I will be out tomorrow to try and cover 10km.i just need to look at the weather and figure out where to go.

PrincessConsuelaBH · 29/10/2020 08:17

Well done everyone on the healthy eating and the workouts (the exercise is certainly putting me to shame).

I polished off my tea last night with a large slice of homemade chocolate cake with fresh cream - it was delicious and I feel no guilt Grin will have porridge and apple for breakfast again this morning as it really keeps me full until lunch, then have a bowl of leftover veg/gravy from tea yesterday to take to work for my bate. Will take a banana too.

I weighed this morning and still 10.5 so happy with that, think I'll pull my puddings out between now and Monday and aim for 10.3 🤞🏻

Really inspired by all the runs people are doing!

Really, pleased, my weight this morning was the lowest it has been for months - what I noticed over the last two years was once I got to 9st8 I sort of relaxed and got back up again. The fact I've pushed past that barrier this time has really encouraged me that this way is the right way!

Just hope I keep it up for Monday weigh-in rather than blowing it all over the weekend.

Breakfast: Honey Skyr + granola. Lunch: Vietnamese tofu and mushroom salad. Dinner: this lighter take on mattar paneer - it is so lovely and light and fresh tasting, though the paneer needs marinating. Will have that with brown rice.

Still dreaming of brie on toast!!

TheNewLook · 29/10/2020 11:37

Can I join? I lost 20lb over the summer but have stuck at my present weight since September...I think the DC going back to school changed my routine and just threw me off. Haven’t re-gained so that’s good but didn’t quite reach my target.

Another half stone would be perfect.

I’m not a three square meals person. I’m a grazer. Usually have dinner but never eat before noon and lunch is a picky affair. I just use MFP to add everything up.

Exercise has been my saving grace. Popsugar workouts in the garden and Blogilates indoors when it’s wet!

BrimfulOfBaba · 29/10/2020 13:32

Welcome @TheNewLook :) I follow Blogilates on Instagram, should really actually do one of her workouts - glad to know you rate them!

swampytiggaa · 29/10/2020 14:10

Just had KFC for lunch 😂😂 hopefully fasting alone will keep me under control 😂😂

Happyface120 · 29/10/2020 14:20

@swampytiggaa I had canteen curry and chips 😂😂. Was bloody lovely, but will need to really rein it in tonight and tomorrow now!

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 29/10/2020 14:41

PrincessC - lay off the choc cake Grin
You only need to keep this up for a while. That's your choc and cream ration for the week!
I'm the same. I had pumpkin pie, ice cream and cream on Tue night. Tue morning I had gone down from 73Kg to 72.8, and was so pleased with myself, to break another number barrier from 73 to 72. Since the pie and cream (and associated wine and nuts, olives, and dinner) I have been back up to 73.2 .
Also I don't really like pumpkin pie and would much rather have busted my eating plan with choc cake - aaargh! That's what I get for extending the interpretation of 'bubble'.

BrimfulOfBaba · 29/10/2020 19:36

The beauty of the approach we all have in common is how we can moderate and try and balance things out Grin

I just finished a HIIT workout for the first time in AGES. It probably helped that it wasn't all cardio, ha. Just did 20 mins on the cross trainer at a level higher than I usually do, burned about 200 cals.

Adjustment with dinner due to not leaving enough time to cook my lovely curry- having premade filled pasta with a lloyd Grossman sauce, and side salad. Actually less calories than planned. Lucky, as I polished off the bar of my fave chocolate Grin

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 29/10/2020 19:41

I am dithering between egg and sweet potato fries or pasta and Lloyd Grossman's finest.....
But because I have been pratting about, not because I have been doing a great workout like BrimfulofBaba Wink

BrimfulOfBaba · 29/10/2020 19:48

Lloyd Grossman can't be beaten in this household! Tomato and chilli tonight [drool emoji]

PurpleDaisies · 29/10/2020 19:49

My Zumba class got cancelled so I’m sitting on sofa instead. I am also doing a cryptic crossword so maybe the brain work counts as calorie burning?!

I was pleased that I made a very large and very tasty pilaf a couple of days ago so it was two minute microwave dinner. I’ve been out with a friend all day. Lunch was a sweet chilli noodle salad rather than a burger and had a toasted tea cake instead of a massive cup cake with a foot of icing.

HIIT and kettlebells tomorrow morning. Bring it on...

PurpleDaisies · 29/10/2020 19:49

I am also a bit partial to a loyd grossman emergency sauce.

PrincessConsuelaBH · 29/10/2020 20:52

@BrimfulOfBaba well done for pushing through! So good when you can see the rewards Smile

@TheNewLook Welcome! Smile please check back in with your weight/loss on Monday and I'll add you to the list!

@RainingBatsAndFrogs I needed that telling off! However, full disclosure - I had a slice of carrot cake and a hot chocolate after my healthy lunch today. I was freezing at work and still hungry! But you're right, onwards and upwards.

Quick tea for me and DH tonight, I'm just about to make a veggie omelette with beans, healthy and filling.

Ok so I know I had kfc yesterday and then I followed that with a slice each of lemon drizzle and carrot cake but actually that was all I ate yesterday so not the worst day... I stopped myself from eating chocolate by knitting tentacles 🦑 for the cat toy I’m making for the idiot sisters to ignore 😂😂

Today I’ve been to work then run 3 miles on the treadmill. Leaves me 2ish miles to go to 100 miles this month 🙂

Not eaten yet today. Not sure what I’m going to have tbh. Oh yes marbled cupcakes made by my youngest will feature but not until after 12 👍🏻
