Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?

PrincessConsuelaBH · 12/10/2020 21:09

So I have approx. 15lbs to lose to get back to my comfortable weight and for my clothes to fit! Thanks to lockdown and a toddler that still doesn't sleep meaning I rely on sugar to get me through the day...

I'm aiming to break it up into 3 5lb mini goals so I don't feel like it's unmanageable before I ever start Grin

Nothing faddy, just planning to make better choices with my food, plan more, and move more too. I have some short-ish term goals that I'm hoping will be enough motivation for me to shift the weight 👶🏻

Anyone want to join? I'd be happy to keep a list going (if there's not too many of us!) to record our weights and losses if anyone would want that too.

Forgot to update my weight on here yesterday, am 0.5kg down

DownUdderer · 27/10/2020 08:12

I'm happy with my eating and fasting. It feels good to be eating mindfully. I burned a few calories doing housework today. I stocked up on lots of healthy bits from the supermarket.

BrimfulOfBaba · 27/10/2020 08:53

I am glad I forced myself to do my circuit yesterday, though one of the moves was a burpee going into a push up and then out into a burpee. Gosh!

I wanted to post a reminder about weight fluctuations! I weighed myself this morning as usual, 9st11.4. Fine, a bit down from yesterday, ok. After taking off my fitbit and brushing my teeth, I decided to weigh myself again out of curiosity. Now 9st9.6. In the space of 5 mins, with just the removal of a fitbit.

I will still be weighing myself regularly but just a reminder that the scales aren't the be all and end all of marking our progress! A lot of my usual clothes are baggier at the moment, for example. I dont know why I let an increased scale reading frustrate me when all the other evidence is there!

BrimfulOfBaba · 27/10/2020 08:54

Sorry, out into a tuck jump rather than another burpee - and then repeat!

Morning all! Smile

Here's the updated list for this week. You'll notice the '?' next to myself and @PurpleDaisies, will update that when I get our weights today. I've also removed the names of anyone who joined originally but hasn't updated, much easier to keep on top of it when there's fewer people and only those who are checking in.

I think (hope!) everyone's figures are accurate. If you notice something not correct PLEASE let me know so that I can edit - I would hate for anyone's info to be incorrect but I do update the list with a toddler hanging off me (that's my disclaimer Grin).

@HaggisBurger I was unsure with yours as I originally had you at 10 stone 7?
But I've stuck with what you've gave me this week Smile

Welcome to all the new joiners! Feel free to drop in with questions/tips/what you've ate today.

No idea why my bold is all the wrong way around?! 😂

swampytiggaa · 27/10/2020 09:13

I’m actually 9:12 starting weight was 10:2 lost 4lb in total 🙂

Thank you for doing this 💕

PrincessConsuelaBH · 27/10/2020 09:15

@swampytiggaa I'm so sorry! Blush
Thank you for letting me know, I've adjusted that on my list and it will be published again later.

PrincessConsuelaBH · 27/10/2020 09:18

@swampytiggaa just checked my list on my phone to change yours and I do actually have your true weight/loss on there! Have I copied and pasted you from the wrong week maybe? Still I apologise and will have it correct for the updated-updated list (ha!) later today Smile

swampytiggaa · 27/10/2020 09:19

@PrincessConsuelaBH that’s ok 🙂 really appreciate you doing this it’s keeping me on the straight and narrow 😂😂

Didn’t feel like running this morning. Was supposed to do a long run with a friend but the weather is appalling. Just done 3 miles on the treadmill. Want to get another 15 in by Saturday to get 100 miles this month again.

bellinique · 27/10/2020 09:56

Thanks for the new list OP! This thread is really motivating me after months of ignoring my rising weight.

I ate cottage cheese on toast for lunch and half a prawn pizza for dinner yesterday. Terrible in terms of getting my 5 a day but less than 1000 calories in total.

My plan is to aim for another strict week this week to get the weight off and then after that I'll focus more on nutrients and healthier living (and maybe actually do some exercise...)

PurpleDaisies · 27/10/2020 10:02

As predicted, period plus taking a shed load of codeine with the traditional side effects has put me back up 0.5kg. Still, I’m happy that that’s a temporary thing and next week will be back down again.

Thanks for the big list!

BrimfulOfBaba · 27/10/2020 16:56

Doing really well today, even had a lovely chocolate bar and am on track for a deficit. Also some of my trousers are falling off me Grin I don't understand how my weight is going up but my waist is trimming down. Muscle?

Breakfast was vanilla skyr and low sugar granola. Going to have eggs tomorrow, miss a savoury brekkie!

Lunch was a spinach salad with asparagus, peas, butter beans, beetroot and a bit of manchego.

I had a gorgeous salted caramel chocolate bar from Tony Chocolonely.

Dinner was going to be lentil bolognese with gnocchi but due to the calories from the choc I'll have a microwave sweet potato and lentil curry stew instead.

That will be about 1,273 calories altogether but I'm planning on a good chunk of cardio in a bit so might have a slice of buttered toast with my stew Smile

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Happyface120 · 27/10/2020 17:53

DDs birthday today, so party lunch and cake! Dragged kids out for a run though, and managed 2.5k! Really chuffed, as I was only on week 2 of c25k. Planning an early night tonight, so will skip carbs with dinner

BrimfulOfBaba · 27/10/2020 18:06

That's really awesome @happyface! You'll sail through c25k Glitterball

dudsville · 27/10/2020 20:03

Princess you've taken on a huge task and you have a toddler. I wonder if you'd prefer us all to pitch in. It's a supportive group, I'm sure there could be some turn taking???

dudsville · 27/10/2020 20:05

I've just gone to bed btw, I'm genuinely not hungry but I'm struggling to avoid mindless eating so I've just called it a night. Pjs, teeth brushed, no more food damn it!

momo3w · 27/10/2020 20:07

@PrincessConsuelaBH Thanks for the list! The weight is right but I’m actually up 0.2kg this week. Here’s hoping I’m back on the downward trend next week 🤞🏼

Had a coffee then protein smoothie for breakfast yesterday, tomato and hummus on sourdough for lunch, asparagus, vege mash and roast chicken breast for dinner, few squares of dark choc and peppermint tea before bed 👌🏼

@BrimfulOfBaba You’re definitely right about not sweating the slight ups and downs, how you feel and how your clothes fit is definitely the ‘truest’ measure of progress!

PrincessConsuelaBH · 28/10/2020 07:46

Morning all!

Just about to update the list again Smile I've looked to see who commented about weight fluctuations to agree but I can't find the original post! I weighed last night and again this morning and this morning I'm 3lb lighter?! Will also start weighing daily I think.

@dudsville I'm genuinely happy to do it - although if anyone is better at the numbers side they're welcome to chip in Grin

@momo3w I believe I added that 0.2kg on so you've lost less overall than what I'd put last week? That amount should be your overall loss - if it's not correct let me know Smile

@PrincessConsuelaBH You are right and so on to it! I didn’t even note that. Sorry!

PrincessConsuelaBH · 28/10/2020 09:00

@momo3w no problem! You've made me feel like I've slightly got my shit together today so I'll take it 😂

Well breakfast is cinnamon porridge with half a chopped apple, lunch will be a snacky picnic with DD (chopped cucumber, plum toms, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs) and tea will be a mince dinner (mince for the kids, DH and I will just have the veg and gravy).

Also, think I'll start using MFP again. Like I said earlier this week, my fruit and veg intake has increased massively, I'm definitely more aware of what I consume Smile but I also think I'm underestimating the amount of healthy food I'm eating and there'll be unnecessary calories in there somewhere!

Hollyhead · 28/10/2020 09:02

Hi thanks for adding me to the list, just weighed in at 54kg, new target is actually to lose 2kg as I know my current clothes fitted much more comfortably when I was 52kg. I know this sounds low weight wise but these are size 10 clothes - I am very short!

BrimfulOfBaba · 28/10/2020 09:29

Thank you for the list @PrincessConsuelaBH.

My weight this morning was the lowest it has been for the last couple of weeks. There is a part of me hoping to keep it thereabouts for the next list, so it's nice to have that extra motivation!

Not had brekkie yet due to meetings but when I get a chance, I'll be making scrambled eggs with mushrooms, tomatoes and spring onions on toast. Need a change from my usual skyr!

Lunch is a roast veg, chickpea and spinach salad with a bit of manchego and dinner is lentil bolognese with gnocchi.

Finished a cardio session yesterday which I'm so pleased about as I hadn't lasted all the way through one last week! More today plus a circuit.

swampytiggaa · 28/10/2020 10:45

Just got in from work. Summoning up the enthusiasm to do a treadmill run. I’m actually wearing full running kit under my uniform so I only have to take my outer layer off and add trainers.

I want to do another 15 miles by Saturday to have run 100 miles this month 🙂
