I'm starting a new thread here as nobody has been posting on our old one(s) for a couple of days. Just wondering how everyone is doing (and if there are any new MNers out there who are also SW members--welcome!)
I've been a member since 15 June and am now just one teensy weensy pound away from my very first stone award. But at times it has been an uphill struggle so it's been great to share my journey with everyone here. Would love to hear from everyone else.

OK out for a christening yesterday .. in a pub for sunday lunch afterwards (I was saving syns for it)

so I've counted everything I had fairly accurately I think

but dessert was a warm waffle with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce .. I had maybe 3 teaspoons of it (about third of one ball of ice cream IYKWIM) .. how many syns do I count for that? (couldn't resist tasting it, it was fantastic)

Twiglett · 22/11/2004 13:09

BTW it was huge so am very proud of myself (there were 3 balls of ice cream to cover the waffle)

so how many syns oh experienced ones?

Arabica · 22/11/2004 19:00

At the risk of sounding patronising Twiglett, I know you only just joined SW but, if you've been given a blue book and the password to use the website, you've got to look it up yourself! Cos it's the only way you'll get your head around syn values. If you look in the blue book you will see that a lot of foods are given syn values for helpful servings liks tbsps or tsps.

Okay - dds daughter is coming to a close. I've been out for a meal tonight and had the works - syns meant nothing to me tonight. I've missed group (for the very first time and I really missed it actually from the social point of view) and haven't had my weekly motivation. Tomorrow is Tuesday, a new day, and the food diary WILL BE filled in. I've got to do it!! I've got to do it!! I've got to do it!!

sparkler1 · 22/11/2004 21:00

sorry that was a bit of a garbled message - am soooo tired. I meant to say dds birthday is now coming to and end not her personally!! the party of 24 kids has done something to my brain (not surprisingly!)

Loobz · 22/11/2004 22:05

24 Kids? Sparkler you deserve a medal!!! I have had an awful week - lack of adult company and being stuck in this damn house to blame. BUT....as you said tomorrow is another day. Will be positve and like yourself will fill in the food diary. Feel like a big fat useless blob at the moment but also know that I'm the only one who can do anything about it...Back on track tomorrow

Twiglett · 22/11/2004 22:07

Arabica .. I looked honest I did but could only guess on the ice cream, couldn't find waffle .. doesn't matter I put down 10 points to be safe

Arabica · 22/11/2004 22:47

I've just had a quick look and I can't find them either--only savoury ones. Sometimes if you can't find the generic item you can search for a manufacturers' own version, but the couple of makes I tried also only had the potato version...

I've been a bad girl . Cannot get myself motivated at all. Have been like this for a couple of weeks at least. I started out so well, so positive. What's happened? I still want to lose the weight and am not going to pack in SW. Just need to get myself back on track. Not sure how.

Loobz · 24/11/2004 07:34

Me and you both Sparkler1. I am blaming my lack of motivation on being stuck in this house at the moment but if I'm being honest that is just another excuse. It's my class tonight and I don't think I'm going to be able to go. Really pi**ed off with myself at the moment but like you not giving up. Not sure how to motivate myself either. Any tips from anyone out there?

sparkler1 · 24/11/2004 10:49

Right I am on track today! Had a banana, two weetabix and ss milk for brekkie. Now having my favourite apple and cinnamon yog. Thinking about going to the gym tonight to burn off all the crap I have eaten recently. (angel mode )

Twiglett · 24/11/2004 20:08

first weigh-in tonight and I lost 3lbs

I know that's probably good but I feel disappointed because I am so.o.o far above what I want to be

One "well done" for the loss, and a second "well done" for sticking with it. I know you were getting despondant but at least you know now it is all worth it in the end. Really pleased for you
X

sparkler1 · 24/11/2004 21:59

Well done christie and twiglett. You have both had fantastic weight losses. You should feel really pleased with yourselves. You can't look ahead to your final target otherwise it will be make things really difficult. Set shorter targets for yourself and you'll feel happier and much more motivated. Just look at what you've done so far. Keep going! We will get there. Just think of next summer on the beach!

sparkler1 · 24/11/2004 22:01

BTW - never got to the gym as step dad in hospital. Food wise though I have been really, really good. . Looks like I may have got myself back into it again.

Well done Christie (that's just 3lbs more to make our target of 5lbs by Xmas!) and Twiglett. And well done to you Sparkler for sticking with the plan even though you're sometimes demotivated. I lost the 2lbs I gained in the last fortnight so I am full of motivation at the moment--In fact I am sending motivation vibes across cyberspace, hope you catch them, Loobz!
And hi to Kayleigh too

Think I have caught some of your motivation vibes Arabica. Feel really motivated today and plan to start filling in food diary again. Going to shops today with dd (school hols today and tomorrow) and plan to stock up on fruit for snackng on.
Well done to everyone for your great weight losses - keep it going! Hope to be joining you next weeek!

Arabica · 25/11/2004 10:57

I'm sure filling in the diary is one of the main reasons I've had a good week.

Kayleigh · 25/11/2004 11:05

Hi girls, I do miss you but they are very friendly on the other thread too
It's going great Christie, finding it really easy to follow - have got third weigh in today so will let you know after lunch.

sparkler1 · 25/11/2004 12:36

Arabica - some of your vibes have reached me too. Looks like I realy am back on track again. Having another good day today foodwise. Have even been to the gym this morning while dd at playschool. Just need to get through the weekend now ready for weigh in on Monday. Like you girls all say filling in a food diary definitely helps and has helped me get back into it again.

Kayleigh · 25/11/2004 15:06

lost 4lbs this week (on the other plan!)
