So, once again I've started again, drawn lines in the sand, made plans, batched cooked etc (you all know the score!).

I will be slim this year!

Slightly scared of the scales so not willing to weigh until Monday but come and join us to get slender!

All diets and weighing frequencies welcome!

@lastqueenofscotland well done on being in the 9s!

@RedLipsAndRosyCheeks and @QuimReaper thanks for the advice. I am definitely taking baby steps, as really went to get in a better frame of mind with eating as hoping that will make me less likely to bin it all in.

I've weighed in a day early this week, as going out to lunch today and didn't want to weigh in after eating out haha. Lost 2.5kg/5.5lbs very happy with that. I know it's not fat but I always love a good first week loss as encourages me on for the next week.
How often does everyone else weigh? I can't decide if I should do every day or once a week. One part of me thinks it's healthier only once a week so I don't get obsessed with the numbers but then the other part of me knows if I i have been perfect all week and then only lose a tiny bit I will be really upset and probably stuff my face.
Wondering if doing it daily and seeing it fluctuate and knowing there won't be a big loss coming for official weekly weigh in might be better?

Off to the pub this evening, we have booked a table in a garden so safe as it can be but still nervous after shielding and literally being locked inside for 3 months apart from hospital appointments and since being out again we have only been going for big long walks.

poorpaws · 19/07/2020 09:19

Hi Squiffy I remember you well.

So a month of celebrations has left me struggling after being so good in lockdown. I’m going to start again tomorrow, healthy eating and exercise cd plus usual dog walk. Anyone else up for an “extra push” week? I could do with support. Although I’m going out at least twice next week which will include food so I need to make good choices 🤔

I really need to get this next stone out of the way so could do with encouragement. It’s so difficult when you just want to eat and sweet cravings (which I have constantly) take over.

For those who can, lets have a good weight loss after next week. Good luck everyone 🤞🏻

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 19/07/2020 17:55

Paws I'll join you but realistically not until week after next.

I was doing so well this week but I've had a very stressful weekend. DM ended up in hospital on Saturday night. She's ok now and should be out tomorrow so that is a relief but I fell back into unhealthy eating because of stress.

I was also supposed to be going away with DM and the DC next week but she is too poorly for that.
DH has managed to get some last minute leave to come so that is brilliant but we do rather encourage each other with unhealthy food and I was relying on DM's healthy eating example while away!

It's a sign of how desperate I am for a break away that I was all set to take the DC away on my own before DH spoke to his boss. DC are 3 and 5 so hardly low maintenance!

Anyway, the holiday is saved but god knows what my eating will be like!

poorpaws · 19/07/2020 22:59

Red I hope your DM is feeling much better and she gets back to full health soon. Flowers

Enjoy your well earned break and you will be able to join me the week after next and we’ll get down to some serious weight loss. I wouldn’t even think about calories whilst you’re away, whatever the damage you can make up for it later. Anyone else up for joining us? I need to do this now, I’ve been faffing around too long.

I made fruit scones tonight and didn’t eat one. Come to think of it I made chocolate cupcakes yesterday and didn’t have one of those either, I’ve only just realised. I took two to my neighbours so they can gain weight instead 😉 I am trying.

QuimReaper · 21/07/2020 17:10

lasty WOOOOHOOOO that's amazing! Well done that woman, what a lovely milestone!

Kick and quite flipping right too! It's been a hideous time, taking enjoyment where you can find it is much the most important thing, and how convenient that you had a nice little 4lb buffer to prepare you Grin Oh so exciting about the kitten too! What's kind is she? What's she called?

Squiffy that is a magnificent start, you must be pleased as punch! I weigh weekly, and I do it at my absolute lightest on Friday morning Blush I think others on this thread like to weigh daily and work out a weekly average which works well as it irons out any fluctuations. How was your night out at the pub? Must have been strange and lovely after being locked in for so long, even if it was a little hairraising Smile

paws I am definitely not pushing this week, when I'm scheduled to glue my arse to the sofa from Thursday to Sunday, but like Red I will definitely join you the following week when it will be extremely necessary... Your scone and cupcake restraint is bloody inspirational, I wish I had your will power!

Red How is your poor mum now? It's great that your break was salvaged, as you say you really need it, and I echo paws - to hell with healthy eating when on hols, you've definitely earned a lovely relaxing break Flowers

AutumnNymph · 22/07/2020 12:22

hello everyone. Another STS week for me and I seem to have plateaued. I plan to have a very lazy week so will give it another push next week.

@Squiffy01 I weigh everyday as that's what works for me and I average out on a weekly basis to account for the fluctuations. I have also learned not to let a weird blip get me down. Weighing daily keeps me on track and as a data geek, I love seeing how my body weight fluctuates through the month.

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 22/07/2020 18:12

@Squiffy01 I weigh everyday, you get used to the fluctuations.

I am currently eating all the food and drink almost all the drinks! Holiday last until Friday and I suspect I'll have put on all of the 3.5lb I lost last week!

In a spectacular show of utter clumsiness, I managed to slip and fall down a flight of stairs and have a broken pinky toe,

Obviously dieting and exercise will be out of the window while I heal. I shall lurk on the thread and try not to gain all the weight back

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 25/07/2020 18:54

How's the toe @AutumnNymph? I have it on good authority that white bread toast and butter are medicinal.

I am back on track today after the holiday. Not braving the scales just yet though!

How is everyone else getting on?

OP posts:
AutumnNymph · 25/07/2020 19:08

@RedLipsAndRosyCheeks bloody painful. I also have a few other sprains and bruises so have been taking it easy with lots of good painkillers.
I am clumsily hopping around on crutches, pizza was had today - I don’t think I can even stand on a scale for a few weeks

I can’t wait for a holiday this year - where did you go to?

How’s everyone else doing.

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 25/07/2020 20:48

@AutumnNymph we went to stay in a friends static caravan in Skegness.
A couple of the beaches were a bit grubby but it was v v cheap and the beach we were nearest too was nice and clean. The boys absolutely loved it and the caravan was less than a minutes walk to the promenade and the beach so that made up for the slight roughness!

I hope you are on the mend soon, carbs and cheese can only help the healing process.

OP posts:
AutumnNymph · 25/07/2020 21:26

Sounds lovely!

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 25/07/2020 22:11

It was! We had a brilliant week. It was great to see the DC so happy and we were all stress free which was a pleasant change at the moment.

OP posts:
poorpaws · 26/07/2020 21:34

Well I’ve really messed up on my “push week”. I started so well then I made salted caramel cup cakes (and ate loads) and then a huge strawberry and raspberry cheesecake which was eleventy zillion calories per slice (and I ate even more of that). Weigh day tomorrow and I’m dreading it.

So pleased to hear you enjoyed your holiday Red.

Autumn poor you, I hope you’ll be out of pain soon.

Quim “I wasn’t bloody inspirational for long 🙄

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 26/07/2020 22:38

They look delicious @poorpaws !

I do minimal baking because I'd just scoff the lot. I'm still fat though so it doesn't help that much!

OP posts:
poorpaws · 27/07/2020 21:12

I’m not going to bake so much in future because I just love to eat and it’s doing me no good at all. I gained 1.3/4 pounds this week and I started the week so well.

I’m really hungry but I’ve eaten enough so I’m going to bed early to avoid temptation. This slimming lark sucks ☹️

poorpaws · 27/07/2020 21:15

Red how is your mum? I hope she has improved and is fighting fit now.

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 27/07/2020 21:39

She is just about back to normal now, thank you for asking @poorpaws

I'm 3 days in to being back on it. We got back from holiday on Friday and I am proud of myself that I didn't wait until today.

DH has given up booze, I don't really drink at home (I more than make up for it when I go out though!) so I've given up snacking to support him. Let's see how long we can last!

I'm going out for lunch and tea on Friday so that will be majorly calorific and boozey but a girls got to live! The DC are staying at my parents again but I'm not going to use that as an excuse to snack this time.

I'm planning on going for 3 runs this week but I am going riding with a friend tomorrow evening so might change it too 2. I had a riding lesson on Sunday that was v intense and I'm still aching after two hot baths!

Phew, mammoth post! How is everyone else getting on? @Elloello @KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse @lastqueenofscotland @leesmum @QuimReaper @Squiffy01 @stellarblether

No shame if it's all gone off the rails, we have all be there (multiple times in my case!)

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 27/07/2020 21:40

Also, if you don't already listen to the secret world of slimming clubs podcast I highly recommend it. Not much in the way of actual slimming goes on (well, sometimes it does) but it is very very funny!

QuimReaper · 28/07/2020 12:40

Hello all! We really did all take last week off, didn't we, like a big Slenderista Summer Holiday Grin Not a fun one for you though Autumn, you poor thing! I bet that is a disproportionately painful and debilitating injury, pinky toes are SO delicate.

Oh my goodness paws I'm sorry you fell off the wagon but WOW! That cheesecake looks completely divine, so professional! I've never made a cheesecake before, it's certainly a show stopper, and I am a sucker for anything salted caramel, I'm drooling over those pics! I agree though, sadly although baking is fun and therapeutic, it isn't conducive to weight loss in my house.

Red I'm so happy your holiday was such a blast, you do sound wonderfully relaxed, and it's terrific that your mum's back on her feet too Smile

I had a glorious relaxing long weekend of pizza, Prosecco and biscuits, so am attempting an extra virtuous week. Absolutely smashed my step count yesterday so off to a good start, I'm already rising 40K for the week. Not expecting a loss, but hoping to neutralise the indulgences.

I'll check out 'The Secret World of Slimming Clubs', I'm always after a good podcast, the reviews look amazing!

Hi everyone. I've been tempted back by the photos of lovely cheesecake!

Ello can I join you on the ranty bench? That auto corrected to Randy. Sounds much more fun!

Anyway I am not doing well. I start every day well but then cave mid afternoon. I am having such massive sugar cravings. I know I need to just force myself to stop and I'll be back in the zone after 3 days but I just don't seem to be able to. Next week is going to be tough because we've got guests staying but I need to stop making excuses Angry

Keep going everyone
