Anyone need to lose a stone or less and needs motivation?

Not that I can provide the motivation but hey ho, I thought perhaps if there were more of us it might help!

I'm currently 10 stone 12 and 5 foot 7. My fighting weight is 10 stone and I would like to get back down to this.

Lockdown has seen me put on at least half a stone. A bad back has seen me stop running and lack of school runs means a distinct deduction in time on my feet.

Anyone else in the same boat?

@Figgygal just lurking on thread and you are me! Im same height and ideally same weight but had a massive shock today and 13 1 too on scales. I have been inactive after surgery too which hasn't helped. going to try to sort myself out in June shall we keep each other at it?

FiveShelties · 01/06/2020 00:09

After another false start last week, I am determined to get back on track. Definitely cutting back on the wine, more water and back to a minimum of 10,000 steps. May not do all the steps today as it is absolutely throwing it down and looks like it may rain all day.

Weighed at 10 st 2lbs and want to be 9 st 12lbs by the end of June.

BorsetshireBlueBalls · 01/06/2020 10:09

Morning all! sunny day here, and I have done a Kathryn Morgan strength and stretch workout to get my week started. I notice she doesn't have t contend with a curious spaniel determined to grab resistance bands/chew bra strap/sit on stomach. Oof! will be shortly taking the dog out, and I'll get a bigger walk/bike ride later on today after chores and errands.

Weekend was a write off for me. Does anyone else live with a feeder and if so, how do you stick to your plan when they make delicious things especially for you? I am a healthy weight, just not my happiest weight, which makes it harder to justify to DH...

Monday 1st Jun feels like a good day to start again though, and I do most of the weekday cooking, so hopefully any weekend sabotage can be cancelled out!

BorsetshireBlueBalls · 01/06/2020 14:24

@cathy31 - if you are in charge of weekday cooking, and you don't need to lose a lot to feel at your best, how about you halve the portions of the delicious weekend stuff? Do you drink? Could you dial that right down?

Those adjustments plus exercise should help reduce?

AIMD · 01/06/2020 14:29

@Cathy31 I live with a feeder....well drink feeder...as in he randomly brings me gin in the eve without asking.

I’ve asked mine not to automatically bring stuff out to offer to go to the shop for me ( I’m too lazy to go myself but if he offers I’ll accept a chocolate bar being picked up 😂).

AIMD · 01/06/2020 14:31

I’ve put on weight ( about 3-4 lbs) despite eating way less than I have been and monitoring calories work an app. Might it be normal fluctuation ?!

Why would I put on weight if I’m eating less. I’m sure my stomach looks slimmer too!!! So doesn’t make sense.

bez91 · 01/06/2020 18:42

Weigh day today, decrease of 0.3% on my body fat which only equates to a 1lb on last week. Doesn't seem a lot but happy with it as I am starting to feel the difference 😊 forgot what that "nice pain" felt like after exercising every day!

PowerslidePanda · 01/06/2020 20:05

@AIMD - Time of the month?

Gallacia · 01/06/2020 21:14

Late joiner... I desperately need to shift 10lb-1st at least!

I was back to my pre-baby weight after my C-Section but following an indulgent Christmas followed by lockdown I'm struggling

PowerslidePanda · 01/06/2020 22:00

A good start to the week - calorie deficit of 800 today. But tonight's dinner was the healthiest one on the meal plan for this week, so I'm not expecting to do as well for the rest of it!

Lurkingforawhile · 01/06/2020 22:25

We had a BBQ this eve with one guest from outside our household. It was lovely and I’m pleased I didn’t overeat - I always seem to at BBQs! Started my fast at 20:10 so will be having leftover BBQ food just after midday tomorrow!

Isbutteracarb · 01/06/2020 23:22

Late to the party but got 6kg to lose and zero motivation so here I am Grin

BorsetshireBlueBalls · 02/06/2020 10:41

Well, yesterday went downhill after a good start. Returned from the park with dog, had a nice healthy salad for lunch and then a migraine struck. Spent the rest of the afternoon in a darkened room rather than exercising, and dinner was spaghetti with pesto and asparagus (fast) rather than the chicken and vegetable skewers I"d intended. Never mind, will do them today. Still feeling a bit zonked from meds and migraine aftereffects, so will take it easy today rather than chase about. Anyone else use Sumatriptin? does it leave you puffy-faced?

Plancina · 02/06/2020 10:52

Me! I’m 5 ft 2 and always weighed 8 stone 10 -9 stone 2, never more than that. Gave up smoking in 2019 and went up to 9 stone 8, then covid hit and I’m now pushing ten stone and overweight on BMI for first time in my life! I have been tracking cals and exercising consistently for two weeks now, and have lost one pound but am about to have period so I think water retention is masking some weight loss. Hoping for a larger loss if I stay consistent through the period.
Wine is my downfall - have decided to cut it out completely for two weeks to see if that helps then add it in only on Friday and Saturday and only 2-3 glasses max.

Lurkingforawhile · 02/06/2020 11:40

@plancina I'm the same height as you. I've been just above 9 stone for a while and currently 9 stone 7. I know when you're short a few pounds make a big difference! The lowest I've been over the last ten years is 8 stone 8 which is loved. I'm determined to get back there before I get to the menopause when I've heard it gets much harder. I'm currently trying 16:8.

Plancina · 02/06/2020 11:51

@Lurkingforawhile
Ah, so nice to hear from a fellow short person! I would love to be 8.10 again - but Tbh now I would be happy just to keep it consistently below 9st. A lot of my clothes are very tight atm and my face is puffier and less défined. I think when you’re short even half a stone looks more like a stone would on a taller person.
Just got to keep going, it’s easy to put it on and so hard to take it off so I need to remember that next time. For me, giving up smoking was worth weight gain as it was making me anxious about my health. But now it’s time to tackle the weight!

Lurkingforawhile · 02/06/2020 12:03

@plancina forgot to say well done on giving up smoking!

bez91 · 02/06/2020 12:08

@Lurkingforawhile @Plancina fellow small people 👋 - I'm 5ft
Definitely harder to maintain I think as every pound shows when there's no where for it to spread out 😆

Lurkingforawhile · 02/06/2020 12:16

@bez91 small people unite! I find it esp hard as my OH is a foot taller than me and so can eat a lot more (he also find it easier to lose weight Hmm)

CalmConfident · 02/06/2020 12:26

Another shorty here, just over 5ft2...agree half a stone makes a huge difference

NordSjoen · 02/06/2020 12:54

I’d like to join please! Put on 4kg in lockdown and before that wanted to lose 2 or 3kg after the winter... gah! I’m 5’6” and 64kg - would like to be between 57 or 58. It’s my birthday today so I’m fasting in preparation for a big takeaway dinner and some fizz. Tomorrow is a new year and my goal is to be 58kg by 2 August when we are (maybe) going away to Turkey. Even if we don’t, we will do something holiday-like those 2 weeks.

I’m lucky to be working week on week off (SEN teacher) so I have time to exercise and plan meals healthily. Hoping to get a lot of BBQ + salads done for dinners as we live on the south coast. Water, no booze, low carbs and running 10k three times a week.

Love reading your ideas and checking in for inspiration and motivation! Power to us all!

PowerslidePanda · 02/06/2020 14:36

Happy birthday @NordSjoen!

I'm 5"1 - in good company on this thread! 9 stone 11 at the moment (but started off at 11 stone 2) and my target weight is 9 stone. Aiming to get to 9 stone 6 by the end of June, which would put me back in the healthy BMI range.

I looked up 16:8 after reading about it on this thread. I hadn't come across it before, but it's actually not far off my normal eating habits (I don't eat breakfast and am trying not to snack after dinner), so I think I'll make a few tweaks to my schedule and give it a go!

Karcheer · 02/06/2020 16:09

I joined this group awhile back and haven't done a thing, i still need to lose the weight...

what are people doing?

my diet is rubbish. i don't do exercise. I do walk the dogs...

are we doing weekly weighins or something i need a kick up the bum!

CalmConfident · 02/06/2020 18:13

If you are going to give 16:8 a go I use the app Zero to track, makes it easy with the timings!
