Apologies for the terrible title but I wanted to encapsulate the boss and how supportive everyone is.

Morning

I last ran on Saturday and I cycled on Sunday but apart from walking the dog every day that is all I have done. My back was hurting last night and now I have stomach cramps from an early period. Grr. When I had been sitting for a while it was my other leg and hip that hurt when got up but I have had that a lot before but I thought it had sorted itself out. I need to get up more in the evenings I think. I was planning on running tomorrow but do you think I should rest for longer ?

fallfallfall · 21/07/2020 15:23

It’s been a few days then, so give it a try.

SunshineCake · 21/07/2020 16:17

I am thinking one more rest day but will see how I am tonight. I feel okay at the moment but it is how I feel later as I am going to get up every half an hour or so so I don't get stuff and then have trouble moving.

Foreverlexicon · 22/07/2020 06:21

If it wears off with movement I wouldn’t be as concerned? Maybe try a short easy run.

I had a good day yesterday. First day I’ve felt happy in myself for no real reason in months.

It was weigh in today - I must of been super bloated last week as I am down 5.5lb! This is a pound down from the week before I went hiking and the lightest I’ve been since mid May. Another 0.6lb to go and then I will FINALLY be losing fresh weight. Really hope I can get past this sticking point now.

Food yesterday
B - weetabix with dried fruit and nuts
L - wrap with chicken, cheese and spinach, crisps and peach
D - Cumberland pie with broccoli and carrot
S - chocolate
E - ran 6.5k and rode the horse

Going to be a rinse and repeat of yesterday. Going for a run but a shorter one focusing on speed today, ride the horse and go to work.

Hope everyone has a good day.

SunshineCake · 22/07/2020 06:45

That was meant to say stiff not stuff.

I am in pain but some of it is period cramps so it is hard to work out as my stomach and back hurt as well. I'm going to take some paracetamol and then go for a run. I might do a shorter one just to see how I manage. Thanks for the suggestion, *@Foreverlexicon.

That is great you had a good day yesterday. Long may it continue. Congrats on the weight loss too ⭐️. Brilliant work!

I feel I am making good choices but no idea re the scales. I was up slightly last time I weighed but I am blaming period.

I've been walking the dog every day then doing a bit in the garden but I still get tired easily so have to pace myself. I don't have to go out today or tomorrow apart from doggy duties but on Friday DS2 is in school and I have my therapy appointment so I'll be in and out though DS1 might help out with school runs.

Right, I'm getting up and will attempt to run. Hope you all have a good day.

*@TheRealHousewife hope you are okay? Haven't heard from you for a while.

OP posts:
SunshineCake · 22/07/2020 13:36

Hello again

Thank you *@Foreverlexicon as you gave me the confidence to run a slighter shorter run without feeling like a failure and using my new fitness watch I ran 4.73k in 36:33 minutes and was awarded very good on a very demanding training load.

I also weighed myself and I'm three pounds down and one is a new pound off. I then walked the dog for 1 hour 38:49 minutes.

Hope everyone is well.

OP posts:
fallfallfall · 22/07/2020 15:30

Well done both of you!

SunshineCake · 22/07/2020 19:12

Thank you, *@fallfallfall How's your day been ?

MrsJonesAndMe · 22/07/2020 22:03

Hi all, just checking up on you all.

Thinking of you @Foreverlexicon Sounds like you're doing well.

Good on you @SunshineCake

Waves @fallfallfall

Scales will be beckoning on Sunday morning and it probably won't be pretty. Need to see a GP for new bloods really - my thyroid is not right - definitely not!

RubySlippers77 · 22/07/2020 23:40

@fallfallfall Mr Ruby did indeed shop mostly for himself, I had to go and do a top up shop yesterday! He bought no bananas but did bring home an enormous jar of Nutella Hmm

@MrsJonesAndMe hope you can get a GP appointment soon to sort out your thyroid, definitely doesn't help with weight loss plans.

Well done on your weight loss @SunshineCake and glad you're feeling less sore! I had more spotting a couple of days ago, don't know if it's peri menopause or something else; I'll wait till next month and then speak to a GP if it doesn't settle down, AF is due next Wednesday.

And a big well done to you too @Foreverlexicon! Would you recommend Decathlon for sports stuff, I haven't shopped there before? I really want some 3/4 length leggings but can't find them anywhere, Primark had great ones but not any more Sad and wow, JM's killer abs - ouch! I did a minute's plank earlier and almost died!!

Summer holidays are keeping me really busy but I was pleased to weigh in 3lb down on Monday Grin just plodding on with my WW plan TBH. I didn't manage any cardio on day 5 of 50 - aarrggghhhh! - was planning to do a HIIT workout in the evening but DP wanted to talk about holiday plans. Did HIIT today though and two week 6 runs, one Sunday and one on Tuesday. Hopefully parkrun will be back soon to give me some motivation, DS1 would love to join now he's old enough.

Sending best wishes to @TheRealHousewife @Galvantula @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50!

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/07/2020 07:39

Great stuff @RubySlippers77

Foreverlexicon · 23/07/2020 10:18

@SunshineCake there is nothing wrong with listening to your body Smile well done on the list.

@RubySlippers77 I get a lot of my riding stuff from decathlon and it’s good quality and fairly cheap. First time I’ve gone in store but they had tonnes of stuff and very cheap!

Good day yesterday. It wasn’t the healthiest, partly due to needing to do a food shop and partly because I had a stressful shift and didn’t fancy my planned dinner. I stayed in my calories though so it’s all good.

B - 2 egg cheese omelette and slice of buttered toast
L - Chicken and spinach wrap, pistachios
D - chicken nugget wrap and wedges
S - biscuits
E - rode the horse and did a 20 min speed interval run

Working 22:00-02:00 tonight. Need to give the house a bit of a tidy, have a lesson with the horse later and will do a JM dvd.

Have a good day everyone

Galvantula · 23/07/2020 12:02

I'm slightly reluctantly on holiday. 😅

Trying to avoid holiday trap of eating/drinking excessively and being annoyed with huge gain when I get home. I do love food though :)

SunshineCake · 23/07/2020 12:17

Well, lovely walk with my friend and our dogs and then I felt a flood and yep, by the time I got home I had told everyone walking behind me I had my period. Might be time to get some better pads as I don't care about the extra washing but I don't want visible leakage. Tomorrow I will be out for three hours with travel, appointment, bit of shopping and travelling home and I can't face the worry of showing everyone what is happening.

*@RubySlippers77 I am definitely menopausal. I can be hugely late then after I was ill I missed three periods then I have had two since and my second was early and feels heavier.

*@MrsJonesAndMe I hope you get a doctor who understands thyroids. I'm still convinced I had an issue but was told all was okay. Now, I think whatever it was has sorted itself out but at the time it was worrying and I know my grandma had thyroid issues.

*@Foreverlexicon what was a win for me was accepting I should run a slightly shorter distance and I didn't feel rubbish or obsessive about it as I can get obsessed with running further, walking more steps and staying out longer with the dog.

*@Galvantula not that you asked for advice Grin but I would think I am on holiday, I am going to enjoy the cuisine but it has to be only stuff that will be worth any potential weight gain.

I've been busy planting seeds and have just made two gluten free seeded loaves which are now resting in the airing cupboard. I'm making fish minestrone for dh and I for dinner and I have really missed fresh bread. I made a packet sour dough last week but then I discovered it had stuff in I can't have and it was slightly over done on the crust. Sadly the one today also has rice flour in, Grrr, but I will take a chance. It is great there is an alternative but when it is rice flour and I am intolerant to rice...

Have a good day everyone.

OP posts:
Galvantula · 23/07/2020 14:32

Yeah I'm going to do my best @SunshineCake, to enjoy it without going nuts. I think usually is excessive snacking that tips me over, so I'll enjoy nice meals and wine/beer and skip extra crisps and chocolate etc scoffed for no reason!

fallfallfall · 23/07/2020 16:46

Mr Ruby and Mr Fall must be kindred spirits. My DH always returns from shopping with “goodies” some very hard to resist he knows I love them treats. But there’s none
in the house right now 👍.
With the weather cooperating my exercise routine is going well.
Weighed a very very encouraging 152.8 lbs (2.5 lbs loss this month).
The weather has not been kind to the veggies...not yet anyway.
All dc, seem fine. Some mom drama but not necessarily new drama, and nothing that involves me at this point.
Craft group meeting went really well! Thanks to covid we bring our own food and drinks so no massive chip/crisps bowl!!

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/07/2020 19:34

Sounds like you're doing well @fallfallfall

I've come on today too @SunshineCake but have the opposite problem. I'm only about 2 weeks into my cycle, but have spotted all week and today been quite heavy Hmm Women don't have it easy do they????
Sounds like few GPs know what to do with thyroid, but just giving Thyroxine alone doesn't seem to do the job. Have been reading up and learning stuff.

Enjoy the break @Galvantula

Waves to all x

RubySlippers77 · 23/07/2020 23:31

Ahhh sorry to hear about the flooding @SunshineCake. I think I've mentioned before that I get 1 or 2 very heavy days each time now (heavy to the point where I can't leave the house), it can be debilitating. Impressed with your baking though! I've had to stop eating bread for a bit as (a) it's high in WW points and (b) I can't stop at a small amount Sad

Women certainly don't have it easy @MrsJonesAndMe Sad did you manage to get a GP appointment for your thyroid? Could you discuss the spotting at the same time?

Hope you have a lovely holiday @Galvantula! DP wants us to go camping soon, I am Hmm at the idea, especially as I still desperately need a haircut and I wouldn't be able to use straighteners etc... I do not want to spend my hols looking like Brian May Shock

Good news about avoiding the craft group snacks @fallfallfall!! I'm hoping to make (or get the DC to make!) some craft type presents for Christmas, what sort of things do you enjoy making?

I did my run tonight - week 6 run 2 - but it was quite late as I had to wait for DP to get home, I definitely find mornings easier, but at least I did it. Spent all day outdoors at a farm with DS2 but my step count was quite low, annoyingly! I've developed bad jaw-ache (not from too many sweets, honest Grin) so may spend the weekend eating soup...

I've finished watching How to Lose Weight Well - sob! - and am on to Weighing Up the Enemy, interesting so far. What was more disturbing was realising than interesting was realising that my body fat percentage means that 5 1/2 stones of me is fat Shock Shock apparently my body fat should be at least 12% lower than it currently is. A further incentive to keep exercising!

Foreverlexicon · 24/07/2020 10:34

Morning everyone
Good day for me yesterday
B - yoghurt with berries and granola
L - sweet chilli pork chop, potatoes and peas
D - pekin duck noodles
S - baby bel and chocolate
E - 40 min JM video and lesson on the horse.

Came in 100 calories under.

Today I plan to just do a 20 min kick boxing dvd, ride the horse and prepare her for our first proper competition of the year tomorrow then work a few hours.

MrsJonesAndMe · 24/07/2020 20:52

I haven't tried to make a GP appointment @RubySlippers77 I think I'd need to get bloods done first. Cycles are definitely messed up when thyroid is out of whack, so probably linked. Will see if I can talk a to receptionist next week when home.

Well done on doing your run! I'd not have the energy for running in the evening either!

Hope you're feeling better today @SunshineCake

Well done to you too @Foreverlexicon Hope that work is going OK.

SunshineCake · 24/07/2020 22:26

Just a quickie as need to sleep.

Did my run and improved on Wednesdays run.

Nice walk with doggy but can't believe I ran 2/3 more than I walked with her.

Therapy went better than expected but I'm shattered now.

Thankfully period has slowed down.

Well done to everyone for their good food choices, exercise and generally being awesome.

Morning
Good day yesterday. Due to weird timings with work and stuff yesterday I only really had 2 meals. Came in about 100 under.

B - yoghurt with berries and granola
D - Gnochhi in a red pepper sauce with chicken, garlic bread and salad
After work - Twix
S - chocolate mousse and peaches
E - 20 min kickboxing video and rode the horse

Off out competing today. I won’t be doing any official exercise but riding and will be walking about lots.

SunshineCake · 25/07/2020 11:11

Just back from a walk classed as reasonable by my watch and we were out just over an hour and a half. I didn't walk particularly fast so I think it is fair. It is all about my dog so I go at her pace.

I noticed while out I felt lighter. I did have upset tummy from DS1 baking as couldn't resist a couple of his profiteroles but generally I feel non bloated which makes me happy.

Have a good day everyone.

SunshineCake · 25/07/2020 11:15

I just saw I walked 4.14 km so not too bad!
