So here's the new thread for tomorrow, excuse the boring title. Unless a miracle happens by tomorrow, I will be starting the month heavier than I started April. Weigh 9st1.5. Aiming for 8st13. Hopefully things might start to change in May. even if its only slightly, which will lift our spirits.

Onwards and downwards. Weighed 9st1.75 this morning, think some of my recent fluctuations have been period related. Monstera 8 miles is fantastic and Hounds that run is fantastic, couldn't run 1km. Aiming for a long walk later if I can fit it in, was going to do Joe Wickes this morning, but to be honest I ache everywhere (period related).

Morning. Had a weekend of alcohol and food so I am avoiding the scales for a couple of days if I can resist it.

Period is nearly finished so hopefully I will find it easier now and lose a bit of bloat. Going to try forsmall eating windows and no alcohol for a couple of days then a fast.

TheHoundsofLove · 18/05/2020 11:34

I'm pleased to say that I feel back in the swings of things now.
I'm fasting today and then planning to have salmon, cous cous salad and tzatziki for dinner. Feeling pretty good as did an early 5km run with my son and then PE with Joe - it was a really good one today!
Hope that everyone is having a good Monday - we can do this!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 18/05/2020 18:47

Great job Hounds.
Had a good day today calories wise. 1,211.
B: Yoghurt
L: Ham and pearl barley soup
D: Last portion of Chicken Tikka Masala and Naan bread
S: Orange/mandarin pieces jelly and 3 french fancies

TheHoneyBadger · 18/05/2020 19:24

That curry has done you well monster! Not sure I’d have been able to resist second helpings if there was more available so well done. Will have a look at the recipe as I have a ds who likes curry now and a slow cooker.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 18/05/2020 20:28

I know, I have to make something else now :(
It was filling with the naan bread and spinach on the side as well.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 18/05/2020 21:12

Hi all had an ok day today. Just under with my calories 1650 and did 18000 steps I a

MonsteraCheeseplant · 19/05/2020 07:37

Hey hey, just had a sneaky random weigh in and am down another 1lb! 10 stone 9!

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 19/05/2020 08:29

Yay! Well done!

TheHoundsofLove · 19/05/2020 08:43

That's great Monstera !
I've done an 8.5km run this morning and then will do PE with Joe. It's an eating day today, which is just as well as my husband made a lemon drizzle cake last night! Grin Am planning courgette fritters, the rest of the cous cous salad and tzatziki for dinner.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 19/05/2020 08:54

I am in awe of you just nipping out for a blimmin 8.5k run Hounds.

By the way, did you guys know that if you buy a box cake mix (sacrilege I know) and add coke zero instead of oil and eggs, you get good tasting cake for much fewer calories than regular cake? I found out about it here on Reddit I haven't been able to find a box cake mix yet to try it but I will asap.

TheHoneyBadger · 19/05/2020 10:15

Also in awe. Back down to lowest end of my fluctuation bracket after very low cal day yesterday. Will fast till late afternoon to try and capitalise on yesterday.

Really would be good to see a new low.

Fit bit declares I had an excellent sleep last night but not still feel tired Confused

Will try to stay active but badger style which doesn’t include running for miles Grin maybe one day

Octopus37 · 19/05/2020 18:47

Wow everyone is doing so well. Weighed 9st1.75 this morning, but tbh am winging it at the moment cause I haven't really got any inclination to eat healthily. Also struggling to fit exercise in as we are moving house on 12th June and some of my work is starting back again at the beginning of June. Busy busy,

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 19/05/2020 18:49

Well done on all the exercise. For accountability here's my food for today
B. Porridge berries almonds coffee 250
L. Tuna salad 330
D. Cheeseburger, bottle of peroni, aero choc mousse (690)
S. Mini twister, 1 homemade biscuit (DDs baking) (guessing 200 in total)

Weigh in tomorrow. I can't avoid it any longer. Hoping for a maintain

TheHoneyBadger · 19/05/2020 21:19

Good luck iggle.

Managed to fast through to late afternoon and have eaten battered fish, a little rice and some salad. Bizarre but it’s what ds fancied.

Hoping I won’t have mysteriously put on 3lbs or something in the morning.

Been out for a walk and am now aiming to sleep asap so I don’t get snack urges.

TheHoneyBadger · 19/05/2020 21:20

Oh and a couple of glasses of Perry.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 19/05/2020 21:21

B: Yoghurt
L: Soup
D: greek yoghurt pizza and a slice of neighbour's birthday cake
1200 dead on

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 20/05/2020 06:56

Weighed myself and I've put on just under a pound. I'm still down by 12lbs from my start weight. Will aim to loose 2lbs this week and get to the stone. My strategy will be to be tea total. Also, I've got my period at the moment so perhaps some will also magically disappear!

Octopus37 · 20/05/2020 07:38

Wow Iggle that's fantastic, nearly a stone. Still 9st1.75 this morning but quite pleased with that. Going to be very busy the next couple of weeks with the house move so that should help hopefully and there's still a third of the month to go.

OP posts:
MonsteraCheeseplant · 20/05/2020 08:05

Good going everyone. I've decided to skip take away this weekend as I don't want to ruin my progress.

As it will be lovely weather at the weekend, we will have a BBQ though. Does anyone have any favourite recipes, BBQ or otherwise? It's starting to feel a bit repetitive.

TheHoundsofLove · 20/05/2020 08:44

Nearly a stone is great Iggle !
Monstera These are my favourite recipes at the moment:
Roasted Veg and Couscous Salad
Courgette Fritters
Tzatziki

In fact I'm fasting today and then for dinner we're going to have Courgette fritters, tomato and mozzarella salad, flatbreads, tzatziki and hummus.

TheHoneyBadger · 20/05/2020 10:09

Well done piggle - 12lbs is great.

I saw a new low on the scales this morning of 14st 9.8lbs. Still huge and miles to go obviously but I'm so glad to see it going down. I may not see that weight again for a while but hopefully my fluctuation bracket stays in a lower range.

I'm not sure of my real start date - about three weeks ago I think when I got on the scales and saw I was nearly 15 and a half stone and wept.

My first goal is 14st which is a fair way off and ultimately I want to get to something maintainable under 11stone.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 20/05/2020 14:39

Nice one Honey, things are going in the right direction!

Well I've blown my once a week weighing rule by checking twice this week that my new low isn't a fluke 😄 it's still there.

Another thread has made me a little worried...Does anyone think that 1200 calories is an unhealthy target that could damage my metabolism? I don't think it's bad...it seems to be working nicely for me and I'm not ravenously hungry by any stretch, still have plenty of treats, sizeable meals. It feels fine to me but some people seem quite emphatic.

TheHoneyBadger · 20/05/2020 15:26

It’s part of why I do fasting. Lowering your calorie intake on a daily basis and losing weight that way obviously means that your bmr is reducing.

It’s part of what makes regaining weight so easy in that when you start eating more you put on weight.

Your maintenance calories get lower and you have to stick to where that new level is.

Can’t remember the “science” but intermittent fasting doesn’t have so much of an effect on bmr

MonsteraCheeseplant · 20/05/2020 15:34

Well your BMR will reduce if you weigh less. I dunno, the science is so variable.
