So here's the new thread for tomorrow, excuse the boring title. Unless a miracle happens by tomorrow, I will be starting the month heavier than I started April. Weigh 9st1.5. Aiming for 8st13. Hopefully things might start to change in May. even if its only slightly, which will lift our spirits.

Wow Iggle, that's good news about Nandos, very tempting and fab that your DH ordered some for you, he sounds like a keeper. I do love a Nandos. So so day yesterday for me. Weighed 9st1.75 again this morning

MonsteraCheeseplant · 14/05/2020 11:43

Still no open Nando's near me unfortunately 😔

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 14/05/2020 12:38

London does have some advantages!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 14/05/2020 18:38

May I personally recommend Halo top ice cream in both Peanut butter and cookie dough flavours. I just had a bowl full for 64 calories.
It feels like the weekend.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 14/05/2020 19:25

Yes to halo top! I had a scoop of the salted caramel one in an espresso today and it was godly

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 14/05/2020 19:30

Today's food
B. Coffee, porridge, berries
L. Butternut squash soup, buttery toast
D. Chicken shish kebab (no bread) quarter of a potion of kebab shop chips, nanny state beer
Plus lots of weird tiny snacks.
Total 1500 calories.

Hope everyone is doing ok today.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 14/05/2020 20:45

By the by Lidl do a low cal ice cream as well, maybe even lower cal than Halo top, DH has had the mint choc and recommends it.

Been for another jog/walk today. DH says I am improving.

Octopus37 · 15/05/2020 07:51

Wow, that ice cream sounds amazing, both the Lidl and the Halo. Had an okish day yesterday, but didn't manage any exercise cause I had stomach ache which lasted most of the day, pre-period I think. Weighed 9st1.75 this morning.

I'm so impressed with all of you who are maintaining and even loosing from such (to me) low weights. I hope we're all still here when I get to my goal weight of 12 stone. I'll be asking for advice.
Hope everyone has a good day today. I slept really badly and am just mainlining coffee until my lecture starts.

TheHoneyBadger · 15/05/2020 17:26

Mmmm salted caramel ice cream! I can dream.

Bit under the weather with a bad throat. No calories today but going to have chicken and veg later.

Scales said stupid stuff this morning but my period is imminent so I’ll blame it on that.

Well done for sticking with it everyone

TheHoundsofLove · 15/05/2020 17:42

We'll still be here Iggle ! at this rate I may never get to leave Grin
Scales do sometimes lie Badger - ignore them!
Probably not very waistline friendly but my recent batch of rhubarb and vanilla gin is now ready - it's absolutely lovely and has the subtle taste of rhubarb and custard. Yum! We're also having our weekly takeaway pizza from our favourite Italian restaurant tonight...just doing our civic duty in these hard times! Grin

TheHoneyBadger · 15/05/2020 21:09

Ds and I had takeaway burgers yesterday hounds. Probably what the scales were being arsey about.

Have definitely been consistently more active this week but disturbed by my fitbits assessment of my cardio fitness level. My resting heart rate is really high. Dr never seems bothered by it and just focussed on my good low bp.

Had chicken wrapped in bacon for dinner which was lovely and have had a hot lemon and honey with ginger and turmeric for my throat and that’s it today. Have had 2 alcohol free days which saves calories.

Will try again with the scales tomorrow

MonsteraCheeseplant · 16/05/2020 07:43

I've reached my initial goal you guys! 10 stone 10lbs!

That's 11lbs down since starting calorie counting and using MFP on the 16th of March, so 9 weeks.

I am very happy indeed. I've been feeling happier with my reflection too. I wonder if this is my pattern of weight loss, that I stall for a week and see 1 or 2lbs off the next. Or it could be reflecting the impact of having had take out every other weekend - am not having take away this weekend to see.

So my next goal is 10 stone 5 - 7lbs I think.

My resting heart rate is high too Honey. And it's easy for me to exercise into 200bpm. I don't know why. Plus, I get a red face as soon as I exercise, whether i'm feeling out of breath or not.

Octopus37 · 16/05/2020 08:11

Well done Monstera that's great. Badger hope you are feeling better. Hounds at the rate I'm going, I'm still going to be here in 2023 at least. Weighed 9st3.5 this this morning as had a take away last night, but tbh had a day with no exercise (think it was Thursday) as I had tummy ache. Nevermind, about to do Joe Wickes, even though its the last thing I feel like doing. Onwards and downwards, we're only half way through the month she says

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 16/05/2020 08:31

Woo woo! Well done @MonsteraCheeseplant !
@TheHoneyBadger & @octopus, I had take out last night too, must have been the night for it. And wine. I'm not weighing myself this morning as I think it will be demoralising, but I'll have a good day and a long walk today.

TheHoneyBadger · 16/05/2020 09:57

Congratulations monster! Flowers

I’m back to my low of 14,11 today. (Embarrassing to record that). Hoping post period I’ll break through this plateau.

My throat feels a bit better today thanks and no other symptoms.

sparklyglitterball · 16/05/2020 11:17

Fantastic @MonsteraCheeseplant! You must be sooo pleased. I think we'll be joining the takeaway crew tonight......really fancy a treat and to feel like it's the weekend.

We often have bbq's if it's warm, and they tend to be reasonably healthy but still feel like a treat.

We also have a pizza oven. It's a bit of a faff making the dough etc, but the pizzas are so good and the kids love them too.

I've not shifted anything on the scales this week, but clothes are feeling looser from regular running and yoga. Trying to stay positive Smile

MonsteraCheeseplant · 16/05/2020 18:55

Thank you lovely ladies!

I am over the fecking MOON as my first attempt at making a curry (AND it's a healthy curry), turned out incredible! And for less than 500 cals all in! I really highly recommend the recipe. It really helped scratch the indian take away itch I was having.
Pressure cooker Chicken Tikka Masala (6 portions, 318 cals each)
Naan Bread (8 portions, 173 cals each)

Octopus37 · 17/05/2020 09:53

Monstera that sounds yummy. Didn't have a good day yesterday, bit sick of saying that and similar on here, as know I should be getting my act together more. However, was 9st2 this morning, as despite eating far too much chocolate, I did do a long walk and Joe Wickes (lol), must have burnt off some energy.

OP posts:
Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 17/05/2020 10:18

Morning all, I've had two bad days food wise. It's drinking booze that messes me up, I loose control of what I eat after I've had more than one drink. Anyway, onwards!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 17/05/2020 17:07

Hey, sounds like you're having a hard time. Willpower is such a funny thing isn't it. I wish I could harness or control it. For me, I seem to get it in fits and spurts. I'm obviously in a more motivated phase right now and i feel like I could carry on like this forever. But I know i've felt like this before and eventually things change and especially around Christmas you loosen up and your willpower dissolves and suddenly you've put it all on again. I hope that doesn't happen this time but i don't feel like i know how to prevent that.

B: honey on toast and OJ
L: Prawn, pesto spaghetti
D: Homemade chicken tikka masala
S: Small Mr. Whippy ice cream and there'll be something else as i've got 110 cals left for today.

Walked bloody 8 miles today (DH set our route today), i'm exhausted.

TheHoundsofLove · 17/05/2020 18:22

Willpower is a funny thing indeed! I find that not being able to keep to my normal routine totally throws me and it's then really hard to pick things back up again. And it doesn't take long - a couple of days is definitely enough to do it. It's such a perverse thing isn't it - new habits take so much time and effort to form, but can be broken so very easily!
The things that seem to work the best for me are running and intermittent fasting. Running because it has such a positive effect on my mood and general motivation and fasting because it 'allows' for unforeseen days. I just have to be really strict with myself.
Speaking of which, I ran 15km this morning and am going to have a fast day tomorrow!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 17/05/2020 18:56

Very well done on your run Hounds

TheHoundsofLove · 17/05/2020 19:15

Thanks Monstera ! You've done really well too - 8 miles is a bloody good walk!

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 18/05/2020 08:44

Very impressive exercise monster & hounds!
Yes, will power is a mysterious thing! With herculean effort I managed to stay on target for calories yesterday. Today I've started well with a sensible porridge breakfast.
