So here's the new thread for tomorrow, excuse the boring title. Unless a miracle happens by tomorrow, I will be starting the month heavier than I started April. Weigh 9st1.5. Aiming for 8st13. Hopefully things might start to change in May. even if its only slightly, which will lift our spirits.

How about Finding fitness joy in June?!

Report
MonsteraCheeseplant · 01/06/2020 13:54

I guess we should start a new thread for June. I don't mind starting one but what shall we call it?

I assumed the calculators are accurate for most people but that some with very sluggish or hyper metabolisms will be outliers.

I have low thyroid and even though I’m on levothyroxine it doesn’t sort me out properly. There are alternative medicines that work better for me but they’re not on the nhs and are crazy expensive

I put the x instead of seeing ththe depressing number of full stones I am and write the number of pounds after. I am 14st 9.2 lbs. Seeing that 14 really demotivates me so I just focus on the pounds changing.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 01/06/2020 10:47

@TheHoneyBadger Sorry, I don't understand the way you write your weigh ins! What does xst 9.2 mean?

Frustrating that the calculators are not completely accurate, would be great if they were.

I discovered that pawn cocktail Skips are 71 cals a packet making them perfect snack size.

Morning. Know what I’m going to be adding to my online basket Grin

Don’t worry monster could be anything blame hormones.

xst9.2 today. Happy to see that 9 again. Walked loads yesterday and according to my Fitbit used over 2500 cals which is really good for me.

My metabolism is pants really. Calculators claim at this weight and height and age (and I choose sedentary lifestyle) my maintenance calories are at least 2300 a day. Others say 2500. If I ate that I would be piling on weight.

On a fairly sedentary day I actually only use 1700. I set myself the goal of 2100 and have to be on the move all day to achieve it.

Sorry for boring you all with my Fitbit facts

Randomly weighed in at 10 stone 8. Don't know why I might have fluctuated up a lb, have stuck to my calorie limits. Oh wells, it's just a lb. If I keep going it'll fluctuate down again i'm sure.

I really want a Mars Ice now!! Just checked and Snickers Ice is 180 in case they're in stock!

I've had a pretty good day today.

B big coffee
L smoky bean chilli and rice
D salmon, new potatoes, salad, salsa and crudités
S bowl of strawberries, 5 haribo, plum, coffee, mini green & blacks choc, almonds

1200 bang on and didn't feel limited today. Bean chilli is excellently low cal and filling - def one I'll make more often. Told the kids it was 'cowboy' beans and they ate it Grin

OMG they sound epic. I finally got a mars ice cream at my local Spar. Weirdly, it was bigger than supermarket ones so it was 200 cals. It was 100% worth it. I still want some for my freezer.

@MonsteraCheeseplant I added mars ice creams to our online shop yesterday on your recommendation............but they were substituted with boost ice creams! Omg they are soooo good. But sadly more calorific than the mars ones 🤣 worth it for a treat.

@Octopus37 glad to hear your move should be going ahead.......fingers crossed for a smooth exchange.

Sounds like everyone is doing well. I'm glad I'm not alone in having a few extra indulgences at the weekends Smile

Congratulations Hangover! Making progress is very motivating isn't it?

DH has broken his plateau and has now officially lost a stone and a half. We were prancing around feeling like skinny minnis earlier Grin

You know, I still haven't been able to get hold of any mars ice creams in the supermarket. Please get out your tiny violins for me. DH and I will walk to the local Spar to see if they still have them individually.

B: Toast and honey
L: Soup and some crisps
D: Huevos Rotos
S: Maybe an ice cream.

Thanks for encouragement.

Today I’ve been determined to keep active. Been for a couple of walks in the sunshine already and intend to do at least 2 more. Maybe it’s because of my size and fitness but I’m surprised at how much a 20 minute walk gets my heart rate up and burns calories.

Found a pair of shorts that fit me so I can work on my luminescently pale legs at the same time.

Just water and black coffee so far today as I ate quite late last night. Going to have some vegetable soup when I get hungry

I have fallen off the wagon too - beers last night in the garden but you know what it’s fine - we will all get there and it doesn’t really matter how long it takes. I’ll be back on it tomorrow - good luck all!

Wow Hangover, thats a fantastic loss in a month and a half. Badger, you are doing really well, one day at a time.
Unfortunately our new house doesn't have a swimming pool (boo hoo lol), but we will have more room, if it happens. The Estate Agents phoned me yesterday and said that our buyer isn't happy but isn't going to pull out. Hopefully Monday but all depends on some paperwork being signed which hasn't been (this is our seller). 9st1 this morning, off to start a new thread for June.

I'm feeling positive today!

Weighed 10st 6 which is a 10lb loss since I started mid April. 3lb loss in May.

And completed my couch to 5k this morning!

Plan for today is to relax the calorie counting but try to stick to healthy nourishing foods as feeling a bit depleted.

Goals for June: to keep up the running 3 times a week, stick to 1200 cals 5 days a week. Aiming to lose another 3-4lb and then I'll be happy to maintain there.

Hope everyone has a good day today

@TheHoneyBadger don't be too hard on yourself. We're all human and you've done so well to get this far. The tiny habits book I read was so interesting and it explained that if new habits don't stick, don't take it personally, and don't blame yourself, instead redesign the habit to make it work better for you. And then again if you still don't stick to it it's still not your fault! But you redesign the habit again. It's like a process of constant habit engineering, like a science and not personal at all, rather than you succeeding or failing. I don't think I've done the book justice but it was so interesting and helpful. I think the author BJ Fogg has a TED talk

Anyone sorry that was long! Good luck today everyone :)

Sorry you're feeling so down on yourself, Badger. You are making progress. You can do this, and like you say, tomorrow is a new day.

I have a horrible migrainy headache, and craving salt so have eaten multiple crackers with salted butter. I have eaten way more than planned today but I'm ok with that.

Great news @MonsteraCheeseplant that your shins have recovered!

That’ll explain it hangover! I’ve been emotional and craving crap food so checked where I am in my cycle but I’m just ovulating so can’t blame pmt.

Managed to get the cry I’ve been needing from watching Little Fires Everywhere. Could do with having a scheduled weekly weep I think.

Haven’t done great today food wise but have just been for a half hour walk to try and do what I can to remedy it. Will try to be active again tomorrow and do better with food.

Had that awful god I’m so fat and it’s never going to change and how can I ever go on holiday again blah blah self kicking earlier Sad

New day tomorrow

Hello hello,

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I've been busy prettying up the garden.
B: Toast and honey
L: Soup
D: BBQ - Hot dog and honey mustard chicken
S: 1 Kinder bueno bar, low cal ice cream and so many strawberries with light squirty cream, I stopped logging tbh but I won't be over 1300 i don't think.

We went for our usual evening walk and it seems that my injury has finally healed so fingers crossed I can get back to adding in some sections of jogging.
