Hi
Like lots of people I’m trying to get back to a healthy weight - spurred on by COVID19. My weight has been creeping up and I started lockdown at the heaviest I’ve ever been (annoyingly much of this was ‘new’ weight gain.)
I’ve lost about 7lbs since lockdown - (maybe more - I avoided weighing myself at the start) and have really stepped up my efforts in the last fortnight. I still have another 2 stone to go.
DH is overweight too and I’ve finally convinced him to shed some weight which is good. I’m hoping that together we can make a permanent changes.
Is there anyone else in a similar position who would like to join me for mutual support?
I’ve just started (as in today) doing 5:2. I’ve been counting calories and I am using my new exercise bike for about 40 mins a day.

Morning all

Monday is my weigh in day and I'm down another lb, making a total loss of 26 lbs in almost 11 weeks. Going to try and aim for the 2 stone off for next week which will then leave me exactly 2 stone left to lose.

I just calorie counting but keep an eye on my carbs. I do eat them but if, for example, I have a pita bread for lunch, I then don't have pasta or potatoes for dinner. I eat as much fruit as I like though and I come in at around 1200 calories on average for the day at the moment. Once a week, I eat 1500 calories a day. Oh and I walk 15000 steps a day

Doing the above seems to be working and it's been relatively painless

bigfootfred · 04/05/2020 08:53

@FelicityFlockheart well done on the loss so far.

@fotofoto don't be too hard on yourself winter is bad for everyone, main thing is you're making a plan and we will help you stick to it.

About to force myself to do an exercise video!

bigfootfred · 04/05/2020 10:34

Well that's a video ticked off nearly died and managed about half. Be nice to see if my fitness improves and was horrific seeing myself in my gym gear Confused

Shotofvodka · 04/05/2020 10:59

Can I join too please?
I haven’t weighed myself as I’m too deflated to do that. I’ve put on a lot of weight since I had some surgery a few years ago and am now battling the menopause.
I’m about to outgrow my size 12 jeans and living in leggings since lockdown is not helping.
I’m ‘naturally’ (as in for my entire adult life) a size 8/10 and I’d love to be back in a size 10. I will try and muster the courage to get on the scales at some point but I’ve just done a Joe Wicks beginners workout on YouTube which whilst I didn’t enjoy it, didn’t seem too awful. I’m quite interested in fasting too if anyone has any advice?

tattiehat · 04/05/2020 12:06

I'm in!
I started CWP One 2 One diet 2 weeks ago and have lost 11lbs.
First few weeks of lockdown I think I gained about half a stone 🤭
Then I realised that the lack of social gatherings is a great time to do this diet! Hoping to get to 10 and a half stone, currently 12.3 as of this morning.

LetsGetMotivated · 04/05/2020 12:52

Afternoon everyone!

@FelicityFlockheart well done on that weight loss, that's great!

@bigfootfred half a video is better than nothing at all!!!

I didn't manage to get on my exercise bike this morning and DH had some work to do on the pc so I've been dealing with the DC's all day so far. But he's just resurfaced so gonna go do 13k now Smile

I went about 100 calories over my daily amount yesterday, so made up for it by doing 15 minutes of yoga and 10 minutes of weights. Unsure how much each of those actually burnt calorie wise, but it made me feel less guilty GrinBlush

STILL waiting for my scale batteries to turn up, can't wait to join in with weekly weigh ins.

Hope everyone has a fab day!

RealityNotEssentialism · 04/05/2020 13:05

I will join you too if that’s okay. I was 92 kg 5 weeks ago, absolute highest weight I have ever been and it really shocked me. Since lockdown, I’ve been calorie counting, doing daily yoga for half an hour and at least 1 hours of brisk walking alternated with running (about 6 km).

My scales broke and I have got new ones today. I will weigh myself tomorrow to see how much I have lost since I started on 29 March. My goal is to lose about 20 kg and I would be delighted with 4 or 5 kg but anything would be good tbh.

It’s so scary how it creeps up on you though. I have gained about 20kg in just a few years. Shit! I do have an issue with binge eating but haven’t done that since I started this. Maybe the fright of seeing my weight spurred me into action lol!

Here’s to us all getting great lockdown bodies! GrinFlowersStar

RealityNotEssentialism · 05/05/2020 07:34

Ah and now I have weighed myself! I have lost 5.1 kg since 29 March. Really happy with that progress and it means I have just over 2 st to go until I will be a healthy weight for my height. It’s pouring down outside but I’m just about to take the dog for a 7 Km brisk walk regardless!

Newuser54321 · 05/05/2020 07:58

Morning all, so glad this thread was set up, it's so inspirational, some great weight losses that are encouraging me to push on. Yesterday my calorie intake was in the upper end of what I'm happy with so I'm going to be stricter today 🤞 to compensate. Have a great day everyone.

darrenlacey · 05/05/2020 08:11

Hi can I join?

I have been overweight for about 7 years now...I need to lose 2 stone and lost 5lbs the week before last eating 1400 calories a day and doing 'own your goals' Davina workouts plus yoga with Adrienne.
Last week I slacked quite a lot and have been scared to weigh myself...but determined to be good this week again!

I did a Davina workout yesterday and stuck to calorie deficit.

Thanks for starting this thread it's lovely to have some peer motivation!!

darrenlacey · 05/05/2020 08:20

Are we doing weigh ins every Sunday morning?

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 05/05/2020 08:21

Hi! May I join you?

I am trying to get from 12st 4lbs to 10st 4lbs - at 12st 4 I was at the very top margin of over-weight on BMI, so not obese, but not that far from it Shock

It’s been playing on my mind for a good long while, mainly because I have a load of clothes that I love that I can’t get into. I’ve never felt particularly unhealthy, and have good stamina but am approaching 50 and a bit stiff round the hips. But now with the added CV19 risks I want to be well away from the obese mark, and also improve my aerobic fitness.

I didn’t get my act together for a few weeks of lockdown but have now lost the first 3lbs so am at 12st 1lb. I’ll never lose more than 1lb a week so it’s going to be slow-going for me!

Would love to have the company, accountability and encouragement!

OhCantThinkOfANewName · 05/05/2020 09:57

Can I join too please...

Managed to lose 4st 9lb, 2 years ago and have put almost all of it back on. I’ve eatten through boredom since in lockdown, really need to give my head a wobble!!

Started again yesterday, have 4st 5lb to lose, aiming for 1stone 5lb in the first instance.

Doing ww

RealityNotEssentialism · 05/05/2020 09:57

Hi! So pleased you’ve both joined. Definitely up for a Sunday weigh in. I posted my weigh in today as I hadn’t weighed for 5 weeks due to broken scales so that was the total from when I started. Hoping to be down another pound or so by Sunday.

darrenlacey · 05/05/2020 10:29

I'm just hoping I haven't reversed all my hard work from week before last! Will see on Sunday and I won't be peeking at the scales before then.

Have just put on my workout leggings from last year (I'm at least half a stone heavier now) and was a bit shocked at the way my belly is bulging out from under the Lycra! Shock feeling very fat today !

darrenlacey · 05/05/2020 10:30

Sorry, forgot to say well done everyone who has made progress so far ❤️ looking forward to see how far we all can go !

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 06/05/2020 08:32

I’ve had a good look through the thread and am amazed at what people are achieving! My own approach is not so hardcore, but for the record:

Cutting down on drinking in the week - at least three days without which is a big change for me
Starting to run - I’m on week 2 of C25K and yesterday’s run was the first I’ve actually enjoyed. I thought I was going to die during the first one Blush
Alternating with 30day Shred - again the first one was terrible and I could barely move the next day. But it’s getting a bit better. So I’m aiming to exercise 6 days a week while I’m at home
Cutting down snacks - hard but doable. Also meal planning, which at least fits well with limited shopping!

Just starting work for the day and trying to put off thinking about it all

ijustneedasleep · 06/05/2020 08:39

Weighed in just now and I've lost 2.5lbs this week 😁

If I can do the same next week I'll be into a lower stone bracket so that's my mini goal.

It's so great to see so many people all here and how well you're doing!

bigfootfred · 06/05/2020 09:15

Morning everyone

I have had a awful headache last few days wonder if it's cause of less sugar or just random.

I had a nice dog walk yesterday but it wasn't long enough to get my steps up so need to work on that

Eating I think is going ok yesterday

Breakfast - bran flakes with blueberries
Lunch - 2 x multi grain wraps with salad and bacon
Dinner - leftover risotto fried with egg and chicken. Yoghurt with strawberries
Snacks - banana, dates , twirl bites

I do feel hungry tho so trying to ignore that because I know I have been overeating and stretched my stomach Confused

muddledmidget · 06/05/2020 10:41

Can I join you? I was determined that 2020 was going to be my year, but so far, its gone to pot! I'm now heavier than I've ever been, weighing in at 12st on a good day, and am firmly into the overweight category. I want to get to 10st5 and back into the healthy BMI, and I've set myself a goal of end of July.

Not entirely sure how I'm going to do it ye, I normally rely on the gym and can't summon the enthusiasm to start running again, exercise bikes are all out of stock and I'm still working 4-5 days a week in supermarkets so having trouble resisting temptation. So I might try IF and cutting out chocolate and alcohol Monday to Friday.

AnOrangeForAHead · 06/05/2020 10:50

Well done on the losses everyone. It’s lovely seeing how well everyone is doing.
I’m pleased to see lots of new people too.

It’s my fast day today. I ordered a few weeks of a juice fasting programme in a moment of madness so I’ll be using these on my fast days for a few weeks. Hopefully it will be a bit of a kick start and won’t be too awful. I’m not planning on using them for long though.

I tried on a work dress this morning. It was getting too tight to wear before lock down. It fits now, which is great, although it’s not especially flattering yet! It was good to try it on though and gave me a bit of a reality check as I couldn’t really gauge how well I was doing in my loose fitting lockdown wardrobe.

Hi. I'd like to join. I hit 13 stone on Monday, which wasn't exactly a shock as all my bras are uncomfortable. I'm following the NHS guidance and starting calorie counting. I'm not really sure how many to aim for though! I think 1400.

darrenlacey · 06/05/2020 13:19

For anyone who wants to have a go at working out at home but not paying subscription fees, fitness blender is excellent and it's free - on YouTube. They have so many workouts with no equipment needed.

RealityNotEssentialism · 06/05/2020 13:33

Yes, I love fitness blender!

Love51 · 06/05/2020 14:21

I've always exercised a lot. Pre lockdown I swam 3 times a week, played netball once and did a yoga class. In lockdown I've done Yoga With Adriene or a weights workout or both, every day, plus either a brisk walk myself, or taking the kids out. Plus gardening and playing badminton in the garden. I just eat too much!

I've started using the NHS calorie checker but there is no consistency. Some things are per portion, some per 100g. So I may not be accurate but I guess if I'm 10 calories out on my oil, it's better than rabidly consuming all the cake!
