Anyone want to join me on a 2st(ish) weight loss journey?

Hi
Like lots of people I’m trying to get back to a healthy weight - spurred on by COVID19. My weight has been creeping up and I started lockdown at the heaviest I’ve ever been (annoyingly much of this was ‘new’ weight gain.)
I’ve lost about 7lbs since lockdown - (maybe more - I avoided weighing myself at the start) and have really stepped up my efforts in the last fortnight. I still have another 2 stone to go.
DH is overweight too and I’ve finally convinced him to shed some weight which is good. I’m hoping that together we can make a permanent changes.
Is there anyone else in a similar position who would like to join me for mutual support?
I’ve just started (as in today) doing 5:2. I’ve been counting calories and I am using my new exercise bike for about 40 mins a day.

Oh dear it's been quiet on here. I have fallen off the wagon big time since hubby came home so going to have to start all over again ☹️

How is everyone else doing?

Hi
Am I ok to join you all even though the threads been going a few weeks?

I was doing really well with calorie counting and exercise pre lockdown, I’d lost 1st 3 and was feeling so energetic and positive. I’ve struggled with lock down and have gained and lost the same few lbs, As of this morning I’m 5lbs up.

I’d like to lost 2st but would be thrilled with one.
I’m doing 2 weeks of slim fast as a kickstart and so I don’t real have to think about food then I’ll go back to just calorie counting. Hopefully it’ll help me curb the chocolate and takeaway cravings!

Hi,
Maintain is lots better than a gain.
Lost again (so around 7lbs in total, but think starting point was bit inflated by period so not exact). Really happy but my god I've been bloody hungry. Trying to keep motivated atm but little devil telling me to reward myself and the main rewards I can thibk of are food related! Need to do a food shop too so not much healthy but lots junk here. Still enjoying getting back into running.
How's everyone else doing?

I've chosen a new 30 day yoga - Adriene's boot camp. It helps to know what I'm doing in the morning, rather than having to make a decision about what to do, I do the next day of the sequence.
Been poorly this week, not Covid, just a cold, but it hasn't helped me stay on track. Feel good I've got a new workout though!

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven’t been on the thread for a while - been trying to cut down my screen time, but it’s almost impossible in lockdown!

I’m still getting a slow loss; hard work but it is adding up. I’m now 11st 12lbs so am losing about half a pound a week. Running is going surprisingly well (week 6 C25k) although my heels hurt - I have the stamina at least and I think it’s improving my lungs. Lost my mojo a bit with 30 Day Shred and I hate level 2 so I’m looking for an alternative because it was starting to shape my arms a bit.

How are you all getting on?

How's everyone doing? Sticking to mine but last 2 days been a struggle, feel so tired and craving crap food for a quick sugar hit. DD not sleeping well which isn't helping. Went for a run yesterday and will go tomorrow too. Trying to make it to Saturday where I'll relax a bit.

Well done losers! I've been off plan all week. 12.7 this morning (so plus one lb), I'm lucky it isn't worse.
Although I've been off plan a lot I think some of the good stuff I've been doing has stayed. Need to count my calories this week though, to help me keep them down.

How's everyone doing? Few pounds lighter on the scales this morning so chuffes with that. Managed to enjoy few drinks and picnic Sat without it descending into a binge-fest. Exercise gone off the boil as been so busy and can only do lunchtime when its boiling, but aim this week to get it back.
@Drybird2020 I try to weigh just on a Mon morning but did weigh Sat before picnic so I knew had lost weight and it I think helped tp make bettwr choices through the day.
Have a good day all

@drybird2020 I am quite bad and weigh myself most days! Prob not healthy but I think knowing I am on track stops me bingeing

It's helpful to read what others are eating. I weighed almost a pound up this morning but that's only since Weds and I'm about to start my period so likely to be water retention.
How often does everyone weigh themselves?

Morning everyone.
Sounds like people are doing well and welcome newbies

I am feeling much more positive on my new eating regime. Less sluggish not controlled by food.

My portions have shrunk and although I still feel abit hungry I am trying to ignore it

General eats for me

Breakfast - branflakes with semi skimmed milk and blueberries
Lunch - couple of scrambled eggs with smoked salmon or tomatoes
Dinner - jacket pots / sausage and mash / pasta and homemade bolognaise

Snacks / treats - my new fav is the twister mini at only 45 calories
Still have max 6 squares of choc a day

Hoping for a loss this week and need to sort my exercise walk the dog everyday but need more to tone my wobbly bits

Can I join? I need to shift a stubborn stone. Just started couch2 5k app last week. I'm doing the metabolic confusion thing.. alternate between carb and low carb days. Run on carb days, Pilates on low carb days. Lost a kilo, though that's possibly water as the belly wobble doesn't look any different.

Please can I join? 😊 I had 2 stone to lose and have lost one, mainly due to quitting alcohol at the end of last year, but also intermittent fasting (5:2 with 800 cals and a 14 hour fast before and after), and I'm into week 5of C25K.
However, I plateaued and have had to look hard at my calories on non fasting days. Over the last fortnight I've made a concerted effort to eat less than my TDEE and have managed other than today as I'm premenstrual. But I have managed to kick my sweetie habit, so that's good!
This thread could be that extra bit of impetus I need.

@MsTSwift well done on the loss, identical to where I am and want to be. 4 months is a good time to do in too. Did it come off steadily each month or did you have to get stricter with diet/exercise as the weight came off?

@catatemymind thanks you've reminded me to dig out my food scales. I'm ok with most things but definitely need them for pasta and rice. Someone i know measures their dried pasta in a mug (mug worth per person) I reckon i cook and eat quadruple that amount

@Love51 that looks really nice, thsnks.
Ok so far this week here (after totally gorging Thurs, fri, sat snd sun). Was heavier Mon than last Monday. Feeling pretty determined to do something about it now. Looking at it in 4 half stones so its less daunting (then will try lose extra few pounds at the end to give me some wiggle room)
Anyone got any good 5pm snack ideas spart from fruit? Often don't eat dinner until 8:30 after dd asleep so need something to keep going. Like the nakd bars and sonetimes have marmite on low GI crackers or fruit or some veg from dd dinner but wondering what others snack on?

Hi, please can I join!!

A combination of being on SSRIs for anxiety and increasingly bad eating habits has left me with 2 extra stones. I am now coming off the SSRIs after 5 years and I need some accountability for the weight loss! Have ordered food scales and people scales too, which should help.

It's magic for me! It's one someone posted on a slimming world board once. I get a bit bingy with bread and some lunches don't carry me know though the afternoon. The recipe allows 1/3 per portion, but I find 1/4 about right. You can heat it up on the microwave as it's nicer warm. I'll see if I can find a link (I actually have it written down in a recipe file!)

@love51 what is the magic lentil bake you talk of? do you have a recipe? I'm hoping to convert DH to some healthy foods as he could do with lossing a few lb

@AnOrangeForAHead how's it going? How are you finding the exercise bike?
I feel crap today so not even been for a walk. Might do a quick yoga shortly. Someone must have made a 'yoga for dizzy people' you tube!
