Have you done this? How have you done this?

I'm 5'8" and 19st.
I know I need to eat less and move more.

I have small children and I'm still breastfeeding. Apart from the standard chasing a toddler I'm pretty sedentary. I do all the cooking, not terribly unhealthy food but probably much too much of it.

Help me give myself a kick up my huge arse please!!

@zebracat Monster munch are awesome!!! Insomnia sounds awful. Hopefully that will pass. Am sure you'll lose that kg next week.

Well done @fitbeforeihit50 with bmi success. Great news. Definitely a big win.

I used to only weigh once a week but I've been trying to weigh most days. Wow. The Ups and downs! Didn't know it would fluctuate quite as much. Will only record Fridays weight but weighed today and looks like I lost last week's gain. At the beginning of the week it was looking as though I was going to gain more!

Winningatseesaw · 07/10/2020 22:55

@modestandatinybitsexy are you still around? Hoping you're doing well.

Zebracat · 07/10/2020 23:19

Hmm maybe I need to try monster munch again

Fitbeforeihit50 · 07/10/2020 23:24

@Zebracat

Hmm maybe I need to try monster munch again
Yep definitely! Roast beef are the best!
Winningatseesaw · 08/10/2020 05:27

@Zebracat definitely try them, I'm with you on the fig rolls tho!

Zebracat · 08/10/2020 10:35

The family were enthusiastic about monster munch but vetoed fig rolls and garibaldi. They want Oreos which are infinitely resistible .

daisyhead08 · 08/10/2020 17:54

How is everyone doing? I'm so glad to be back on track. I'm now back to my 37 lbs lost since May including nearly ten weeks off programme. This second set of ten weeks will bring me to three weeks before Christmas (sorry!!) but it's keeping me really motivated to know that I won't feel like I did last Christmas, unhappy and miserable about my weight.

@Fitbeforeihit50, that is an amazing achievement. I'm crawling to a BMI of 29 as my next goal, but nowhere near it yet. Keep going, you have done brilliantly.

Great to see some names still here from my previous run!!!

Winningatseesaw · 08/10/2020 22:35

Oreos are lovely. Today I'll be making biscuits with my son but half are going to a neighbour.

I've had a lovely loss today! Lost last week's gain and a further 0.8 - so loss of 1.6kgs! Biggest loss I think I've had.

So total loss 20.8kgs - 3 stone 3lbs
Current weight - 93.8kgs (14s11lbs)
Start weight- 114.6kgs (18s)

I think I'll probably get a maintain next week but maybe it's worth it! Happy to be in the 93s.

Rebuildingconfidence · 09/10/2020 00:04

Thank you for the lovely messages! My interview was online but I had to go to an office for it as it was being run by a HR provider.

I was dreadfully nervous but managed to get myself under control. I suppose each candidate had their own HR person guiding them - it was all done in a room alone and I didn't see any other candidates, all down to Covid.

Anyway, my HR person was a lovely, kind, older man who was very supportive and nice.

Can't believe I am about to write this ...

And who congratulated me on my pregnancy in the seconds before my online interview commenced! When I shook my head, he dug in even deeper and said you have just had a baby? And I shook my head again and he was very embarrassed and apologised!

My youngest is nearly nine!

I know this happened to me before in.the summer so I couldn't quite believe it happening again. I was thrown off course as I was getting into the zone, but I actually haven't let it hurt or embarrass me. I felt really sorry for him. I mean, I am embarrassed but looking at it just as more motivation.

Need to get back to those planks.

I walked half an hour today too. I soldier on and I won't give up.

Winningatseesaw · 09/10/2020 02:15

Oh goodness! From an HR person! I think you've managed it really well.
Using it as motivation is a really good way to view it.

So you feel like the interview went well? Keeping fingers and toes crossed. When do you think that you'll hear back?

Zebracat · 09/10/2020 12:58

@Rebuildingconfidence, crikey you handled that so well. It’s appalling that he did that. We really do need to get back to the planks though.
@Winningatseesaw well done on the weight loss. If I’m on the seesaw with you , you’re losing there too!
Weighed again today and I am back under 100 at 99.6 . Feels good. Also sorted my trousers yesterday and several pairs of size 16 jeans actually were ok. They would be more comfortable with another inch off my waist but I was pleasantly surprised.
We are planning a few days away at half term,
I would love to take the size 16 jeans with me.
Hello to @daisyhead08. I lurked thru a lot of your posts, lovely to have your input again.

Rebuildingconfidence · 09/10/2020 17:00

Thank you @winningatseesaw and @zebracat I really appreciate it!

No idea how it went, I hate interviews and I am bad at them!

Back on the planks tomorrow, having a day off today!

Winningatseesaw · 12/10/2020 03:38

Hope everyone had good weekends. My pattern is higher calories at the weekend and then lower during the week. Haven't had alcohol for a couple of weeks which has been good. Not that I drink too much ( reduced down to one evening at weekend only) but leads to snacking!

Hoping to lose smtg this week but suspect a maintain due to big loss last week and it being the week before my period. We shall see.

What will you guys do over December? Go for maintain? Or just take 25th off? Or keep going for loss? I'd like to keep losing but if I could maintain then that would be ok.

I'm hoping to be in the 80s by Xmas. I have a big birthday before then, plus wedding anniversary and lots of catch ups already being scheduled. I'm trying to enjoy my occasions and then move on so hopefully I won't just take Dec off!

Zebracat · 13/10/2020 14:40

99.5 this week so I’m doing something right. I’ve just been out and had a really rich chocolate milkshake but still it was in one of those deceptively small sundae glasses so mature only 200 mild? I’ve got one somewhere so I can check. Also the last 2 inches created awful slurping sounds so I had to leave it....
Barely registers really!

Zebracat · 13/10/2020 14:41

The win is that I had that instead of cake, not in addition to it.

Winningatseesaw · 14/10/2020 12:12

That's definitely a win.
And being under 100 again is another win.

I succumbed to a chocolate dessert in the fridge that was 305 calories!!!! It wasn't even that big. Was delicious tho.

alphaechokiwi · 14/10/2020 14:49

Hi everyone, it's really nice to find this thread. I often feel overwhelmed by the amount of weight I need to lose to get to a healthy weight. I've always battled with weight but the last 12 months have been particularly difficult. I had lost quite a bit of weight between 2018 and 2019 but I was diagnosed with breast cancer last August. I've had my treatment and I'm now on tamoxifen long term which has plunged me off the menopause cliff. It makes my joints ache. I've put back on tonnes of weight in the last year and my doctor has said there's nothing that will help the pain in my hips and knees but to lose some of it.... I am also hypothyroid, I take thyroxine, but my metabolism is slow.
So hopefully I can join you lovely people on your journey. I've read the thread and I'm really inspired by you all.
My stats are:
Starting Weight: 06/09 113.8 kg
Current weight: 108.3 kg
I'm hoping to lose a total of 40 kg over 12 months, which works out as 0.8kg per week on average.
I'm intermittent fasting at the moment and will change up the fasting pattern or do a few weeks keto if I need a change. I've passed my first mini milestone, getting under a BMI of 40, and my next goal is to reach 103kg, which will represent my first 10kg loss, 1/4 of my target.
Not doing much exercise yet. I'm still a bit sad that last year before my diagnosis I was running to work and doing lots of yoga... I'm not able to do either yet because my knees and hips hurt too much.
This has turned into an essay, thanks for reading if you've got this far. I weigh once a week on Sundays, so will try to keep posting progress here.

Zebracat · 14/10/2020 22:06

@alphaechokiwi Welcome. Crikey seems like you got off to a flyer .
You have been through the mill. I know all about the joint pains mine has improved but I know I Need to lose another10 kilos before the doctor will ado anything but tell me thatI am fat ! I’ve just been for a swim first in a pool for 6 months. It was brutal, got the procedures all wrong and had absolutely no Technique.Only plus iS that Imust have used loads of calories because I’m exhausted and ive booked for tomorrow too. When will you weigh?

alphaechokiwi · 14/10/2020 22:27

Hi @Zebracat
I weigh every Sunday morning.
I hadn't considered swimming, thanks for suggesting it. The council pools in my borough haven't reopened, but I'm in London, so there's bound to be options. My technique is also terrible, but a few swims a week would be a good start...I'm going to look into it tomorrow.

Zebracat · 14/10/2020 23:02

It’s great for joints but I don’t think I made it Sound very appealing. Used to got 3 times a week generally Ivan swim well but out of practice. I always admire people who can run I’m a sweaty mess within seconds.

Winningatseesaw · 15/10/2020 22:37

Welcome @alphaechokiwi. Sounds like you've done really well already to drop your bmi. Won't be too long until your next goal of 10kgs lost.

Don't be too disheartened if it doesn't drop off at the rate /timeline you're expecting. The important thing is keeping on keeping on.

I forgot to weigh today. So will weigh tomorrow! I'm expecting a maintain.

YellowMelllow · 16/10/2020 18:41

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to check in (name changed - Yellow Penny). Since I first posted in this thread in May I've lost 52lbs. I've gone from 16.7 to 12.11.. I've started to plato and needed a boost of motivation, and I remembered posting on this thread at the beginning. Reading all the posts have definitely motivated me to keep going!

Winningatseesaw · 16/10/2020 22:31

Wow @yellowmellow well done! You must feel fantastic. Amazing results. What's your goal weight?

Winningatseesaw · 16/10/2020 22:35

I've lost 0.4kgs this week - so just under a pound. That's ok.

Total loss of 21.2kgs (3st 4.7lbs)
Start weight: 114.6kgs (18s)
Current weight: 93.4kgs (14 st 9ish lbs)

Onwards we go!

Winningatseesaw · 16/10/2020 23:07

Current weight more like 14st 10lbs actually.
Wonder if I can get 10lbs off by Christmas? Think that will be tough but might give it a go!
